UPDATE (SHARING ENCOURAGED): I went ahead and created a PayPal pool fundraiser. It’s ambitious, likely overly so and I’m still very ashamed to be asking for help at all. I know compared to some, I’ve been so blessed. But any share or contribution could help me reach my ultimate goal which is honestly, just to get my life back. Things aren’t always easy. I have some big barriers both mental, physical and financial ahead of me. But I have hope. There are things that won’t heal, and I have to accept that. But I want to move forward pro recovery and hopefully find my place in this world.

As some of you know, I keep a recovery journal cuz you know I’ll forget basically everything unless I have it written down. Days start out in this general format. All it says so far today is that I had a nightmare at 4am, fed cats at 5am, and my affirmation of the day courtesy of the brilliant @itsarifitz . Thank you for inspiring me. I too have struggled so much to find myself, and to fight for acceptance of my body as is. Mostly, my fight has been fought through self destruction and starvation to keep myself contained and small. But what you said in your post yesterday resonates so strongly with me. So I’m keeping this Ari quote with me today. My body is my home and I choose to honor my home.

I finally got my butt in gear and decorated my altar for Ostara. I know, it looks a lot like my Imbolc altar. Bear with me. Depression and anxiety have been kicking my ass lately and I’m really low budget. But I changed out my water, infusing it with jasmine essential oil. For Imbolc, I infused it with lavender. I’ve got some egg shaped stones alone with just some fun plastic eggs. I might fill them with wishes and intentions tonight before bed then bury them in the soil (the paper, not the plastic eggs) when the moon changes. Daffodil bunches are about $1.50 at Trader Joe’s right now if you’re interested. I’m looking forward to seeing them open up.

Today I lit a white candle in remembrance and respect. I’ve only recently learned of the horrific attacks last night in New Zealand. I will never understand how such hatred and violence can consume the perpetrators of these heinous acts.

As I watched the candle burn down, the flame extinguished, all I could think to say was, to all affected by this horror, we see you, we’re with you, you are loved, you aren’t alone.

A favorite author of mine had this to say of the tragedy and it resonates deeply, “Go and spread joy and love. The best way to counter evil like this is through spreading a force that conquers it.” - Jasmine Galenorn 🕯
