It's crazy to me that their story is communicated in only 11 pages

I think Aoi started just like Togashi in a way that she only was passionate about Suzume's passion for running. But she developed her own love and even obsession later while Suzume lost hers. And after all that Suzume just ridiculing this love and devotion to the sport she introduced Aoi to. That same obsession that served as moral support even for her. And just waiting to prove her point that everything was actually pointless and it's not that Suzume just gave up
