Make a random song lyric, anything, and I will add onto it with another lyric!! Then you will add onto THAT with another song lyric, and the cycle will continue until it is done!
Recently, I was standing outside my son’s classroom waiting to talk to his teacher. I stood on one side of the hallway, not even close to the center. At some point, a man came walking along. I was standing right in his path, but the hallway was empty, so I logically expected him to swerve around me. Instead he kept walking right toward me, got to me, and stopped, as if waiting for me to get out of his way. I didn’t; I just smiled politely at him. He finally walked around me, clearly annoyed that I hadn’t leapt out of his manly path.
Now I’m wishing I’d leapt aside, taken off my jacket and laid it on the floor before him, then bowed deeply and said, “My Liege!”
I also work at a college campus. I smack shoulders sometimes, but I find that if I stare straight ahead and follow the advice below, people get the heck out of the way.
Honestly this post changed how I carry myself when walking alone in public, or in a situation where I’m the one leading. People definitely move for the murder gaze.
Confirmed. I once had to rush back inside a convention hall as the con was closing in order to a retrieve a sick friend’s medication, and I didn’t understand why people in the crowd were jumping out of my way (literally—one guy vaulted a table) until I realized I was dressed as the Winter Soldier and doing the Murder Walk because that’s just how I walk in those boots. I got the meds, got out, and made a mental note.
I repeated the experiment later, wearing the boots but otherwise my usual clothing and mimicking the expression I thought I’d had at that moment. People parted like I was Charlton Heston.
I now wear that style of boots whenever possible. I recently had a man do a double-take as I walked by and ask me, politely, where I had served because I “looked like a soldier.” I’m not current or former military. I was wearing a flowy purple peasant top and looked as un-soldierlike as possible.
Moral of the story: wear comfortable shoes, square your shoulders, and walk like you’ve been sent to murder Captain America.
IT’S BACK!!!!!! I was searching for this to show my daughter the other day and couldn’t find it. I’m so glad IT’S BACK!! I will always reblog the Murder Strut!!
In case you were wondering, yes you can do this in a wheelchair. Same look in your eyes and let ‘em know you will run them down. Just picture yourself in a sports car accelerating towards someone with the intention of flattening them.
If there’s anything more satisfying than watching Abled men leap out of my way when they realize I’m not moving for them, I can’t think of it atm.
Leo challenges his family to eating contests all the time, because he wants to make sure they eat enough.
When Donnie isn't in the mood to eat, Leo proudly declares that he can eat 10x more than Donnie.
When Raph exercises too much and forgets to eat, Leo rushes in with a carton of milk, two shaker cups, and a whole container of protein/nutrition shake powder. Betting Raph $5 (five dollars) that he can drink more.
When Mikey loses track of time working on an art project and forgets to eat, then loses his appetite from it, Leo will bring a pile of sandwiches three (3) feet high. Saying that Donnie doesn't think that Mikey can finish more than Leo.
When April accidentally stays up too late hanging out with them, then wakes up too late to have breakfast before school. And misses lunch because she fell asleep, Leo will show up at her apartment with stacks of pizza boxes, proudly daring her to beat him in a pizza eating contest.
Even without a trigger, Leo will randomly challenge them to eating contests to make sure they're eating enough.
Mikey's the one who figures it out, when he asks a sleep-deprived Leo why he always challenges Raph to eating contests even though Raph always wins:
" 'e doesn't eat 'nough," Leo slurs, "none 'o you 'uys do."
Then he face-plants directly into his cup of tea.
Mikey immediately tells everyone, who all swear to not tell Leo because they think it's endearing. They start challenging Leo to eating contests too.
“Soooo…” Leo says, after they finish the first movie. Donnie’s been stuck to his side since his big apology, and—after he finally calmed down—Leo got quite the talking-to from Doctor Feelings about suppressing his emotions. A talk he’ll definitely obey later. Most indubitably. “What was that you said about Apology Gifts 1 and 2?” Donnie perks up, “Ah, I nearly forgot!” He turns to Mikey, “Michel, behind you there should be a box. Please hand it to me.” Mikey stretches him arm behind himself without moving, in a disgusting display of flexibility that makes even Leo shudder. A minute later, he pulls a box up and passes it to Donnie, who accepts it and gives it to Leo. Leo smiles at him and opens the box. Inside, there’s a fluffy blue unicorn, that looks to be handsewn. His grin gets wider; he pulls it out and squeezes it to his plastron. Now that he’s paying attention, Leo notices the tiny pokes on his twin’s fingers. He keeps it resting in the crook of his arm as he picks up the second gift. A small metal oval in Donnie’s signature purple. He shoots Donnie a questioning look. “It allows you to shut off any of my inventions, at any time, with a vocal command.” Oh. Of course, Donnie would recognize his mistake and do something to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Still, it catches Leo off guard. The tears find their way back into Leo’s eyes, and he pulls Donnie into another bone-crushing hug. Donnie hugs him back just as hard. His heart feels so full. “I love you, ‘Tello.” He whispers past the happy tears. “Love you too, ‘Nardo.”Chapters: 6/6

Summary:
Leo’s been weird.
Not normal Leo-weird, either.
Normal Leo-weird is making stupid puns, bugging Donnie until he gets hit, challenging Raph to a pizza eating contest despite knowing Raph eats the most.
This is bad-weird. Not coming out of his room, wearing his hoodie 24/7, not talking when he does leave his room.
——————————————
Post-Donnie's Gifts, Mikey notices Leo is acting off and comes to an incorrect conclusion.
“—looks so tired, I don’t wanna wake him up.”
“He’s gonna feel worse if he doesn’t eat.” A warm rumble pulls Leo from his nap. He’s curled up in something warm and firm. He feels safe, like nothing in the world can hurt him.
He peels his eyes open to look at his surroundings.
Oh, Raph’s holding him.
That makes sense, Raph always holds him when he’s tired.
“Mornin’, ‘aphie.” Owww, why does his throat still hurt so much? Shouldn’t it be healed by now? And why’s it so bright in here? It’s night!
Awareness seeps like molasses into his mind, and he finally registers Mikey standing next to him. Why does he look so concerned, though?
Then, he remembers Mikey’s panic attack/meltdown (because of Leo). That right after Mikey, Donnie had a panic attack/meltdown.
“Morning, Mikester,” He puts on his best ‘Everything is totally fine!’ smile and reaches down to pat Mikey’s head, “how’re you doing?”
“I’m good, Leo,” he leans into Leo’s hand, closing his eyes happily, “how’s your throat feeling?”
“Way better. Don’t worry, Angie.” Leo signals for Raph to set him down.
Despite his smile, Leo can see the creases of worry in Mikey’s face. And that’s not happening. Mikey shouldn’t be worried about this (about him). Leo looks around for something to distract him with.
He catches a whiff of cinnamon, perfect!
“Oooo, what’s that smell?” He asks, making sure to up the excitement in his voice.
Mikey perks up, eyes popping open, “I made stuffed French toast!”
“Nice!” Leo cheers, and starts dragging them to the kitchen, “I don’t know about Ellie, but I’ve been craving your French toast for weeks!”
Raph nods in agreement, smile at both of them. They get to the kitchen, and Leo makes a beeline for the kettle to re-make his tea. Mikey starts chopping up fruit to go with the toast.
Mikey’s talking dies down, so Leo asks Raph about his progress on the teddy bear he’s been making for April. Apparently, he finally found the right fabric for its jacket.
He finishes making his tea, and sits down next to Raph, who’s still happily chattering away. Mikey chimes in with his own questions, plopping down next to them, to continue the conversation.
He leans into Raph’s side, sipping on his tea. The soothing heat is like a balm for the sharp pains in his throat. Mikey pulls out his phone to show Raph a picture he’s been working on.
They’ve both completely forgotten about Leo’s neck, just like he intended. Injury or not, Leo still has his Faceman-touch.
.........
Donnie steps back to check his work, he’s already finished Apology Gifts #1, #2, and #3. And now—as he sets down the last bag— Apology Gift #4 is complete too. With the gifts finally done, he heads off to gather his brothers.
He might not be the best with words or emotions, but he does his best to show his love in other ways.
Which is why he makes gifts. As a physical reminder of his care.
But this time he messed up, and hurt Leo with his gift. So now, he must fix it. He just hopes that this will be enough. He shakes his head, if this isn’t enough, he’ll just keep trying.
He will fix this.
.......
Donnie drags all three of them to the living room, now decked out with every blanket and pillow (except Leo’s, R.I.P Moldy) in the lair. Leo can also see a pile of snacks and drinks in the corner, and the first Jupiter Jim movie is queued up.
He wonders how Donnie managed to get Splinter to leave the projector on Tuesday, when the movie night isn’t until Saturday.
Probably threats. Or bribery. Either way, Leo’s astounded by the sight. There’s fresh pizza stacked next to the snacks. From Mike-Tony’s.
Leo chest fills with affection.
“Behold, brethren,” Donnie says with his usual gusto, “Apology Gift #4, a Jupiter Jim-Lou Jitsu marathon!”
Did he say #4?!
Okay, it was sweet a minute ago, but that’s a bit too far. Better take the focus off of his throat before it goes too far.
“Aww, ‘Tello!” Leo says dramatically, channeling all of the obnoxiousness he possesses—a lot—and puts a hand to his chest, “You all this for me? I’m honored!”
Donnie’s face twists, like he Leo just hit him, which is not the desired reaction. Shit!
He back-peddles immediately, letting his earlier affection seep into his tone, “Thanks, Dee,” he puts a hand on Donnie’s shoulder, “but you didn’t need to. I forgive you.”
This somehow makes Donnie’s expression more crumpled, so he tries to clarify, “I just mean it isn’t necessary. I know it wasn’t on purpose!”
The look Donnie is giving him is nothing short of heartbroken, like Leo saying he already forgave him is the worst thing ever. He looks back to Raph and Mikey, only to see them wearing the same expression.
“I want to,” Donnie suddenly says.
“Why?” Leo asks, why does Donnie want to apologize, “I forgive you! Let’s just forget about it!”
“‘Nardo, I hurt you. I can’t just forget about that,” Donnie grabs him by the shoulders, looking into his eyes even though he hates eye contact, “it’s too important.”
It’s fine. Definitely not important, it’s just a thing that happened. A thing they can forget about.
“It’s fine! It was an accident!” Things can go back to normal now! Doesn’t Donnie want that?
Donnie’s tearing up now, “Leonardo—”
“Uh oh, full name,” he jokes, “am I in trouble?”
Donnie ignores him, “—it is not fine. Whether I intended to or not, I hurt you. So I am going to apologize, and you can’t stop me.”
Leo goes to protest, but Donnie glares at him.
Fine.
Donnie drags them both to sit in the beanbags, pulls out a bottle of something, and pours some into a medicine cup, passing it to Leo.
“That’s Apology Gift #2. A medication I modified to help sooth your throat and help it heal faster.”
Leo begrudgingly drinks it, only because Donnie is giving him the most hopeful and guilt look.
It tastes like sour gummies. Mikey and Raph are still standing behind them, yet Donnie doesn’t seem all that bothered.
Donnie takes a deep breath, “Leonardo, you are my brother, and I would never, ever dream of hurting you. Especially not with, as Mikey called it, a shock collar—”
Leo flinches at the term. If Donnie notices, he doesn’t comment on it.
“—but I did. I—unintentionally— abused your trust in me. And I can never make up for that.”
“You don’t need to! It’s not a big deal!” Leo shouts.
“It is to me! You’re important to me!”
“Why?!”
Crap. He didn’t mean to say that.
Donnie’s face drops, and he looks like Leo just stabbed him. Leo’s vision blurs with hot tears. He wipes at them; yet more take their place.
“I mean, I know ‘why’, it’s just taking a bit to sink in. Don’t worry, I’ll get over it.” Leo gives his best smile. Hopefully it will—
Donnie reaches forward and pulls him into a tight hug.
“I am so, so sorry, Leo.” He says, “You didn’t deserve it, and I will never let it happen again.”’
“Its fine!” He says, trying to break free from Donnie’s iron hold, “I know you didn’t mean to! Let’s just forget about it!”
Donnie doesn’t say anything as Leo keeps struggling, pushing away as hard as he can without hurting him. He shuts his eyes tight, in frustration and to keep anything from slipping out.
It’s fine. He’s fine! He’ll get over it, his stupid brain just hasn’t gotten the memo yet.
“JUST LET IT GO!” Leo pushes with everything he has, until only Donnie’s hands still have their grip on his hoodie, “LET ME GO! I’M FINE!”
Wow, Donnie’s medicine really works. Leo’s throat doesn’t hurt at all.
Something way too close to a sob slips out as he desperately tries to shove his fingers underneath Donnie’s, to force them off. The adrenaline’s starting to taper out, but he keeps trying to free himself.
Suddenly, one of Donnie’s hands slip away. Leo’s eyes snap open, and he’s face to face with Donnie. His face is drenched in tears, but he doesn’t look any less concerned and determined.
He reaches up to Leo with the hand he just untangled, and wipes it gently across Leo’s face.
Oh. He started crying.
The last of the fight drains out of him, and Leo slumps forward into Donnie. He buries his face in the soft purple of his hoodie, letting his eye’s slip shut as the tears spill free.
Donie wraps his arms around him, and whispers, “You’re allowed to hurt. It’s okay, Leo.”
Somehow, that’s what shatters him. The horrible feeling in his chest that’s been building finally breaks free. The shards of the glass cage he stuffed it into embed themselves in his heart.
He curls his arms around his twin, clinging tightly. Everything he’s been holding in all week rips its way out of him as he wails into Donnie’s shoulder.
“I know you didn’t mean to!” He screams, muffled by Donnie’s hoodie, “It shouldn’t hurt so much! Why does it hurt so much?!”
Another sob rips its way through him. It feels empty, like the pain took everything else with it.
Donnie squeezes him tighter, cradling the pieces of him in gentle hands as he falls apart. Soundlessly, Mikey runs over and hugs Leo from behind.
Raph walks over wraps his arms around them, holding all three of them with pure love.
......
“Soooo…” Leo says, after they finish the first movie.
Donnie’s been stuck to his side since his big apology, and—after he finally calmed down—Leo got quite the talking-to from Doctor Feelings about suppressing his emotions.

Notes: And that's a wrap! Thank you so much for reading! I loved writing this, and everyone's comments were so sweet. Have an incredible day!
Mikey gets a super deep voice super young. He ten(10) just woke up one day with it.
Raph had gone to wake him up for breakfast, and had a (metaphorical) heart attack when Mikey spoke with the voice of a grown man. Mikey started crying at the change in his voice, causing Leo and Donnie to rush in.
As soon as they heard Mikey's voice Leo started giving him a check-up on his throat. And Donnie immediately started making a machine so that they could analyze his hormone levels.
There was absolutely nothing wrong, and no signs of Mikey starting puberty early. To this day they still have no clue what caused it.

Post-Donnie's Gifts, Mikey notices Leo is acting off and comes to an incorrect conclusion.
Leo’s surrounded by warmth.
Three blobs of warmth.
He snuggles deeper into the big blob of warmth that’s holding him. The small blob of warmth on top of him wiggles, the medium blob to his side hisses at it. He’s so nice and warm now, it’s amazing!
The last few days have been so cold, but he can’t remember why. And trying to remember makes him sad. He stops trying, he’s warm now, and that’s all that matters.
He reaches out and pulls the medium blob closer. It grumbles, but doesn’t fight him. Content, he relaxes completely. He’s still so tired, like when he hasn’t slept properly in days.
Suddenly, there’s a soothing rumbling coming from the big blob. It reminds him of being held high up, with any fear of falling. He tries to rumble back, but pain shoots through his throat and it’s cut short.
The small blob whimpers from above him, brimming with concern.
No, the small blob shouldn’t be sad. Especially not over Leo. He reaches up and pulls the small blob into his arms, next to the medium blob, nuzzling its head in an attempt to comfort.
It whines a little longer, but eventually calms down when the big blob wraps its arms around the three of them, squeezing tight. Leo sighs comfortably, it scratches the inside of his throat, but it’s bearable.
This is so nice, he feels so safe and happy.
He’s surrounded by his blobs, how could he not be happy? He doesn’t know why he wasn’t happy before, but he can’t bring himself to care.
He settles, letting sleep invade his mind.
.......
Mikey wakes up squished between Leo and Donnie, in a comfortable squeeze from Raph. One of Leo’s arms is thrown around him, and the other is resting under Donnie’s head like a cushion.
He’s starving, which isn’t surprising, considering his earlier panic attack. He wriggles a bit, trying to free himself from the pile.
Leo whines—then flinches from using his voice—and squeezes him tighter. Mikey’s heart twinges at the sight. He’s very tempted to ignore his hunger to bask in the warmth longer.
But his stomach growls, and Donnie starts stirring awake from the noise; so Mikey squirms the rest of the way out of the pile, snaps a couple of pictures of his sleeping brothers, and heads to the kitchen.
......
The smell of cinnamon wafts through the air, pulling Donnie from the sweet arms of slumber.
He tries to sit up, but a heavy arm holds him in place. He opens his eyes; Raph’s arms are wrapped around him and Leo.
Leo, who has a thick red line curled around his neck.
The day’s events come rushing back to him, along with his earlier guilt. He leans closer to inspect the burn, noting the dark bags framing his twin’s eyes.
It’s already scabbed over, which is good. But with how far into the healing process it looks, the fact that he hasn’t been speaking, and their mutant healing, Leo should already be able to talk without pain. He’ll have to question him about it later.
Now, however, Donnie starts planning on how to make up for his egregious mistake. He slowly starts pulling away from the turtle pile, but Leo grumbles and squeezes tighter.
Raph responds to Leo’s grumbling by turning, with them still in his arms. Which, thankfully, loosens Leo’s grip on Donnie just enough for him to attempt escape.
He swings his body in the opposite direction as Raph starts turning, freeing himself from his twin’s hold. Sadly, the momentum from escape causes him to roll off the edge of Leo’s bed and onto the cold floor.
He groans, rubbing his head as he sits up. There’s a snicker from behind him and he whips around, coming face-to-face with Mikey. Who’s holding his own bright orange phone.
His little brother grins at him viciously, “Blackmail.”
“Well played, ‘Angelo.” Donnie says, glaring at his traitorous brother.
“Learned from the best.”
......
Raph wakes up with Leo still in his arms, and spends a moment staring at him. Raph’s hopes that Leo with a burn on his neck, was just a dream are crushed.
He hears a yelp come from the kitchen and sits up. Leo whines in his arms, clinging to Raph’s torso. Raph chuckles at his little brother’s antics, carrying him as he goes to check out the noise.
He walks down the hall, replaying last night(this morning?)’s events in his head. How hadn’t Raph noticed that Leo was hurt when they got home?
Why did Leo hide it in the first place? Usually, he would jump at the opportunity to get Donnie in trouble. So, why didn’t he this time?
Raph’s thoughts are cut off by piece of raw bacon to the face as he enters the kitchen.
“—do not promise to stop making gifts!” Mikey shouts at Donnie, who’s typing away on his tech gauntlet.
“I just feel like it isn’t enough—”
“What’s goin’ on here?” Raph asks, cutting Donnie off.
There’s absolutely no way Raph’s letting Donnie stop making gifts—something he loves doing—as some sort of sick revenge for Leo. He doubts Leo would want that to happen either.
“Raph!” Mikey says, before quieting down when he sees Leo sleeping in Raph’s arms, “Tell Dee that Leo doesn’t hate him!”
Raph gives Donnie a confused look.
How could Donnie think Leo hates him, when he’s the one who calmed him down? He literally said that he forgives him last night (this morning?).
“See!” Mikey yells, gesturing to Raph.
Donnie huffs, crossing his arms and looking away. He mumbles something that Raph doesn’t catch.
“What’s that, Don?”
“…Why doesn’t he hate me?” Donnie repeats, “I hurt him!”
Mikey pipes up this time, “‘Cause he loves you, and knows you didn’t mean to!”
Donnie doesn’t look at either of them for a long minute. He just stares at a spot on the floor. His face flicks between denial, annoyance, and guilt, before landing on determination.
He looks up at them, nods once, and runs off. Probably to his lab.
Mikey smiles proudly, and starts rambling about his newest art project. Raph sits down, tightening his arms around Leo, who churrs happily.
