Oh, oh, this. She was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo going to rub this in Danny's face when she tells him.

She ignored the sputtering sounds the sad soul torn trench coat man gave or the "Constantine, you said they'd not be able to leave the circle!" from the man dressed in his bat fursona as she stepped out of the summoning and containment circle and floated towards Martian Manhunter.

"Hey soooo, would you mind signing something for me? I wanna tease my temple back home. Space Nerd had finals this week and I got picked to answer his Kingly summonings for him and these have been annoying to show up to. Also he totally ate the leftovers I was saving and tried blaming Cujo, gotta get back at him for that."

Fenton Ethics and Test Tube Babies

In order to get the funding they need for their Ghost stuff, Jack and Maddie Fenton had to do some... rather illegal things when they left college.

One of them was testing alien DNA and seeing if it was compatible with human DNA.

However getting their hands on Superman's DNA or any of the main Leaguers would be far to hard for two up coming scientists and would run the risk of them being caught. Instead they set their sights on some of the younger aliens.

Such as Starfire, or rather Koriand'r.

They manage to get their hands on her DNA, and also her boyfriend (Nightwing) at the time and began to test it. They felt unsure with what they're doing but they needed the funding and in order to make themself feel better with what they're doing they decided if they were test her DNA with someone she was seeing it would be... better for their own conscience (it doesn't make what they're doing okay but they think so)

Eventually they succeeded in the testing! A baby can be made between a human and a alien.

HOWEVER because we know how the Fenton's get, they kind of go ahead of what they were only meant to do, which was just to TEST the compatibility of the DNA. Basically the paper's before the test phase.

With them getting tunnel vision on this project... They create said baby.

Then before they could show off that creating a new baby via test tubes actually works, they were told that the paperwork they were working on were going to be given to a new team, thank you for your work, here is the money for your ghost stuff, and have a good day.

The people who hired them then just leave.... Without knowing about the newly made baby.

Jack and Maddie name the baby Jasmine.

A few years later when little Jazz asks for a sibling... Well they bring out the old test tubes and papers.

And even though Starfire is no longer dating Nightwing, her new partner Red Hood would make a wonderful male donor for their future kid.

Alternatively instead of Danny being a clone of Kori and Jason it could be a demon twins AU. I like the idea of Jazz and Danny having different powers from different sources instead of Danny having Jazz’s powers but also more. And this way they get to keep their kinda messed up familial relationship but instead of being sibling-cousins they’re sibling-niece/uncle

For this version it would be better if they somehow found out about Jazz in their teens. Then when they go to find Jazz’s bio relatives they find Damian and Danny has a huge freak out about Jazz’s bio family being evil because it’s also his bio family who are part of the LoA who are definitely evil. Cue Danny, Jazz, Bruce, Damian, Dick, and Kori all having at least 5 different mental breakdowns each over everything.

Jazz: What do you mean you’re a former assassin and that’s your evil twin and your bio dad is my grandfather?

Danny: What do you mean you’re a clone of a superhero and an alien princess and your bio dad is my evil twin’s brother?

Bruce: What do you mean I have another half dead son and a half alien clone granddaughter and they’re siblings?

Damian: What do you mean my dead brother is actually kinda alive and I have a half alien clone niece?

Dick: what do you mean I have a clone daughter and a new half dead brother?

Kori: what do you mean I have a kid with my ex that neither of us knew about?

The rest of the bats: WTF is happening?

Daniel Wayne, the younger toddler brother of Bruce Wayne and the son of Martha and Thomas Wayne had been kidnapped the night their parents were murdered.

Daniel had been snagged the moment their killer heard people headed to the alley and Bruce in his state of shock didn't realize it until it was far to late and could only scream in horror (from everything) as his baby brother is crying his name. (If you wanna make it even more heart wrenching, make it Danny's first time being able to say Bruce's name right and/or Bruce had said some mean things to Danny earlier after he accidentally broke something of Bruce's, something like 'I wish youd go away' or 'I never wanted a brother, you're such a bother!')

Bruce is being held by Alfred as some police officers are chasing down the Wayne's parents killer while some stay behind to see if they could do something.

Minutes turn to hours and as they wait, praying the police at least found Danny, Bruce is ridden with guilt. From his parents death to allowing his brother to be kidnapped.

Eventually the police return to give Alfred and Bruce the news. And it's not good.

The killer escaped and Danny was nowhere to be found.

And it would take many years before he would be found.

Bruce gets a call from Damian during school hours one day. When he answers he is greeted with Damian demanding him to get to the school and explain himself.

Confused Bruce asks what does he mean and Damian responds with

"The two new students in class today are the spitting images of you and I father! Either they are poorly created clones or you have more hidden blood children!"

Meanwhile the very students being discussed are calling up someone too

"Ellie? Dan? What's wrong? You better not have made too much chaos already, I just paid for the uniforms for that place."

"DAD! I THINK ANOTHER ONE OF THE FRUITLOOPS FAILED CLONES SOMEHOW SURVIVED!"

"What?"

Oh my god. What ifs here are amazing....

Bruce rushes over to the school (the pros of being a billionaire who can leave at the drop of a hat from wherever with very few consequences) and reaches there in record time. Damian meanwhile is stalking Ellie and Dan through the day to see what they're doing. Damian gets called to the office because his father's there.

Ellie and Dan who'd been taking great pains to act normal breathe a sigh of relief when they discover Damian making haste to leave. One of them (take your pick) slips off to check out what is going on with the weird looking clone who was spying on them.

It's while Damian is whispering the whole thing to Bruce (while being unknowingly eavesdropped on by Fenton kid of choice) that Danny arrives and another announcement is made. Ellie and Dan quickly show up to talk to Danny and not even a few seconds after that do Bruce and Damian arrive. Bruce who looks like he got sucker punched by his father's ghost and Damian who is confused why this other man looks like a younger version of his dad.

The Batkids, all seriousness aside from the reveal, do think this is absolutely hilarious. Like, almost all of THEM have gotten surprise siblings or a sibling returned from the dead and now it's Bruce's turn.

Plus Danny and kids being openly suspicious of this billionaire?? *chefs kiss*

Most of the siblings are eagerly watching but trying SO HARD to not overwhelm Bruce's long lost little brother and his kids. It's bad enough that Damian has got off to such a bad start with the new cousins. They all meet in the hallways now and it's like two semi-feral cats (Dan and Damien) and one mischievous ferret (Ellie) having a stand off.

Dan and Damien: *locked gazes and raised hackles*

Ellie: *trying to decided which BatBurger would be the best option to stage an after school brawl behind*

Dick, in the distance: "I have the sudden premonition that I should check in on Damien today."

Steph, also in the distance: "Something's happening. I don't know what but I want to be there."

MEANWHILE

Danny, on the phone with Tucker and Sam: "He has a creepy lair in his basement I just KNOW IT."

Batman, lurking: *sweats*

Red Robin, watching Batman Lurk™️: *trying not to laugh*

Duke has only met Danny so far as Signal, but former Teen Hero Danny Fenton spots him and is SO intent on giving this young hero high calorie snacks or even a damn gatorade. If he sees him he will sprint into the closest store if he has to. Duke has a large collection of random post-it notes or wrappers/bottles with affirmations and gratitude Danny wrote. (It goes with other similarly sentimental gifts from Gotham citizens).

Danny hasn't MET Cass personally, but he has taken the kids to a ballet performance once with Jazz when she visited as "cultural enrichment". Surprisingly, Dan liked it more than anyone thought he would. Ballet is incredibly physically demanding, and he can see the beauty in that in their movements.

Jason tho. Jason sees Danny eye sad-wet cat Brucie Wayne with deep suspicion and immediately pushes his way into the Fenton's lives.

Jason LOVES Uncle Danny. Both because it gets Bruce's panties in an absolute twist and because something about the Fenton family just clicks with him. (Danny has absolutely clocked Jason as having returned from the dead. He's not a halfa or a ghost, but he has died and returned from the dead. Probably some type of Revenant? Danny's not sure when or how to broach the topic as they don't know each other well enough yet to our themselves, but Jason being around the family in the meantime will be good for him. Plus the kiddos love'm.)

Bruce is struggling to get his emotional constipation under control long enough to establish a non-hostile or unintentionally-creepy-billionaire relationship again with his baby brother.

Meanwhile Jason is already on the couch playing games with Ellie and Dan. He's already ordered himself a "I'm Someone's Favorite Nephew" mug which he absolutely drinks from at the Manor almost exclusively while he's there. Alfred allows this, given Jason got Danny to agree to meet him.

Jason will happily give Bruce the middle finger but he loves Alfred fiercely. It takes a bit but eventually Danny agrees to meet him. Jason takes Ellie and Dan out for the day to terrorize Gotham, and leaves the two older men to talk.

Danny has a long talk with Alfred, who absolutely has tried so so hard not to cry during all this, but absolutely does eventually. He must have felt so guilty for so long, his beloved friends Thomas and Martha gone, and their youngest son Daniel stolen and he had been unable to do anything but hold Young Master Bruce in both their grief. And yet here he is, a kind father to two beautiful children, telling him he's happy and grew up with a family who, despite a weird, bumpy road, loves him and his kids so so much. Danny doesn't have a photo album available right now, but he and Alfred set a date for Alfred to come back and have dinner to meet both Dan and Ellie, and to look at photo albums together, Fenton and Wayne both.

Alfred reminds Danny of Clockwork just a bit, with his impeccable timing and knowledge/intuition.

Slowly as Danny gets to know Alfred (and Jason, despite how he rags on Bruce, or how Damien seems to have become Dan and Ellie's highschool nemesis, which makes Danny think fondly of fighting-as-bonding in the Infinite Realms) he warms enough to agree, finally, to have dinner at the Manor with the family so Alfred can host, back in his environment as the impeccable Wayne family Butler.

This also means of course that Danny has also agreed to meet and talk with Bruce. (Creepy Billionaire...but also a name that long since lingered in the back of his head and heart though he didn't know why. A photo of a little boy and his big brother that pulls at those same heart strings.)

Omg I love it.

I love all of this.

Gosh can you imagine how the rest of the fam reacted to Bruce having a long lost brother, if he ever told them, and showing them the few pictures he has of Danny that him and Alfred guard in little safe boxes because the memories still hurts of loosing Danny. The heckling he'd get when someone points out 'So this why most of your adopted kids have blue eyes and black hair!'

Dan and Damian being mortal enemies at school (make it worse. Have them rivals in academics, Dan is Danny and they're smart but Dan has the confidence Danny didn't in High School so he pushes hard for grades. AND have Dan and Ellie be technically older than Damian by like a few days, so Damian has to deal with being the 'little cousin') while Ellie fans the flames of war because she is a troll. She wonders if she could sell tickets to the brawl.

Danny I like to think has job at the reopened observatory, Sam invested in the repairs of the place when she got her inheritance, and works a bit part time as Gotham's musem in the galaxy/space area, and he just kept feeling this calling to Gotham. Especially when he meets Lady Gotham (all she did was appear, stare at him and his kids before smiling and dissappear into the night, the Fenton's agreed that was... a little unsettling. They have yet to see her again since but they know she's watching, that's the thing with city spirits, they're everywhere and nowhere but at least she hadn't chased them out)

I can also see Tim frothing at the mouth when maybe during a rogue attack, there is a very complex machine going to like destory the city and Danny in the middle of the fight takes RR's screwdriver from in his belt and works on the machine while the others fight without anyone noticing until the Rogue pushes the button but nothing happens. They all turn and see Danny holding up a important component and just snickering. Red Robin wants Danny to work for WE because when he looked at the machine blueprints he saw how complex the thing was and it would had taken even him a 10 minutes and Danny dismantled it in like 2 without damaging anything. He's beggimg Bruce to stop being awkward with his own brother. Please.

He totally 'mother's' all the young heroes/vigilantes. He understands the stress and everything that goes into it. Of course he's going to feed them.

Also I love the idea of Dan liking ballet! Let him sign up! And when Cass notices him at the dance studio she uses it to get close to her little cousin and his family. Dan totally is sus at first buttttt he may had watched her kick butt when she and him went to get some ice cream after class and were almost mugged and is wowed how badass she was! He totally tell Ellie about the fight too!

Jason totally rubs it in Bruce's face that he's on amazing terms with Danny and the kids. OH! Have Ellie totally declaring he's her favorite of the Wayne kids, Cass is Dan's fav. I can just imagine him teaching her things, like how to fix a motorcycle and stuff like that.

Dick is dying, he wants to be the greatest cousin, the best cousin for the Fenton kids but ugh his siblings totally are! The least he can do is wrangle in Damian when he gets a little too over the top, or so he thinks they're all having a blast fighting each other. Even though they won't admit it. They're mortal enemies after all.

Alfred and Danny talking. My God. My heart. Alfred trying not to cry now that Danny is home, in Wayne Manor where he should had been raised in along with Master Bruce. He wondered how it would had been like but tries not to dwell on it. The young master was home, with his own children Master Dan and Miss Ellie in tow. Alfred shows him all the pictures he has and tells Danny about his birth parents. He does eventually talks to Jazz, thanks her for being there for Danny during the years away, and chats with the Fenton's thanks them as well for rasing Danny (no matter how weird and insane they could be, they still loved Danny like their own. Good parents Fenton's btw)

Also the Twins fighting Damian and finding the cave totally happens. Dan and Damian were totally rough housing but during it Ellie is exploring around, using her powers to find secret pathways and goes into Bruce's office (this happens when the family just got comfy with each other). Damian catches her and well, starts being Damian. Dan finds them in the office and things escalate from there and the two are fighting in the office until Damian roughly tackles Dan towards the old grandfather clock. Who instinctively uses his powers to phase them so they don't hit it. And they both go tumbling down the steps into the batcave. Ellie hot on their heels flying down to them in a panic.

That's how the twins find the Batcave and how Damian found out about his cousins powers. (Now do they keep it a secret from their parent? Cause you know, secrets)

They would absolutely not fess up to fighting in Bruce's office, which is a very important part of the "we accidentally found the batcave" story. Cass would absolutely be able to clock the body language changes, but unless the others watch the security footage nobody would know.

Cass probably talks to Dan about it tho, helping him stretch at the dance studio on a day when it's just them cause Cass is giving him extra lessons. Dan had insisted everyone got sign language classes when he first started going to the studio and getting close to Cass, so it's a very slow conversation. Bits and pieces of story exchanged in-between involved stretches and practicing dance moves, away from prying eyes and with barely a whisper beyond soft music from what they're practicing. The whole story isn't shared in a day. Jason got himself his own mug. Dan gets Cass a "favorite cousin" mug (for the Manor) and water bottle (for the ballet studio), especially since she doesn't snitch to their dad's.

It does spread, slowly. Jason next, because Ellie's bothering Robin on patrol like the MENANCE she is, so he simply reroutes to Crime Alley and essentially tosses his ghostly cousin at Red Hood on a rooftop with NO explanation besides "She's YOUR problem now, Todd" before grappling away. She is in fact, Red Hood's problem that night.

Dan doesn't sneak out as often, between studying hard to TROUNCE Damien in exams, ballet, and using his duplicates to cover for Ellie. (Listen- Listen. Danny knows something's up. He knows his kids. But he also knows that if anything genuinely comes up they'll ask for help because he made DAMN SURE his kids could, would and do come to him for help. Ellie was a wanderer long before she went from his clone cousin to being his kid, and her sneaking out to fly around at night isn't exactly new.) When he does, he either follows Ellie to bully their cousins or he shadows Cass, learning more than just ballet.

Barbara absolutely finds out quickly once the twins start sneaking into patrols, but silence is bought and her lips are sealed. (They get her in contact with Tucker and she can't be bothered to inform Bruce, when she's getting a head start on MASTERING ectoplasm-enhanced computers and ghostly hacking and counter hacking before Tim even has a whiff, who is busy trying to investigate the weird patrol behavior of his siblings.)

I think the Twins, Ellie especially, essentially become the Batkid's hot potato on quiet patrol nights, for as long as they can get away with it before Batman stops being distracted by Danny being back long enough to be suspicious.

But OOOOOOH MAN do I not want to be in the room after Danny and Bruce have their own secret identity reveals and Bruce finds out his little brother did, in fact, die.

Gosh I love the freaking idea of Damian, Dan, and Ellie all keeping that they know™ their secrets a secret because it's like a cousin code lol. You don't tell our parents and I won't.

Danny and Bruce talking about their double lives ooooohh that... that'll be a train wreck. Not only will Bruce have to deal with the emotions of realizes his brother died and was brought back (and is now in between) but Danny will no doubt be pissed that Bruce allowed CHILDREN to become vigilantes. Danny may had been one when he was a teen but he didn't have much of a choice, he was only one that could stop the Ghosts and even with his friends and sister as backup it was hard and stressful and it's why he doesn't want his kids to go down that same road. (He knows they are up to something when Ellie or Dan leave but he's not heard news of new ghostly 'heroes' or vigilantes so he's willing to ignore it for now) (the drama this can lead omg)

Danny finding out Tim Drake-Wayne had to DROP OUT OF SCHOOL due to his vigilantism/to save Bruce.

Danny had been so desperate to pass just ONE test as a freshman, just one good grade, and it doomed a whole timeline with a grief that still hangs on Dan's shoulders like a cloud on the bad days. He would have killed for support for his education back then!!!

And Tim, teenage acting CEO of a major company, teen vigilante hero, simply dropped out because no one would believe or help him. (They're superheros. Magic is real, aliens live ((somewhat)) openly on Earth, and heroes have come back from the dead on more than one occasion. And yet, he still received no help from his family, his team, in following this lead.)

Not to mention the only reason he got involved in the first place is because Bruce was so violent and uncontrolled at the time that Tim was desperate to get him help, and apparently the linchpin to that was having a kid sidekick.

(That's not even touching on Jason. Loud, wonderful asshole of a young man Jason, who pushed his way into the family far too easily, of whom Ellie adores. Jason who is a Revenant. Jason who died. Jason who died as a teen vigilante to a Gotham rogue who's been escalating for YEARS, and yet keeps getting put back in the same asylum that rogues escape from constantly.)

Danny has never been so furious in his life, so much that he briefly genuinely considers becoming a Gotham rogue for the explicit purpose of kicking Bruce's ass.

(Maybe it just feels like that, maybe he's more mad than he would have been because he was starting to come around. He was starting to like Bruce. He's nothing like Vlad but...but right now all that he can see is another billionaire with a weird basement seemingly obsessed with getting kids to join him in his goals. He knows it's not the same but ghosts are beings made up of emotions, and he's not really rational right now.)

FREAKING HECK YES TO ALL OF THIS UGHHHHH THE POTENTIAL THIS PROMPT HAS SO GOOD. we can get comedy, Angst, and so much feels.

SOOOOOOOOooo I was rereading this and two ideas came up in my head.

First idea.

After Danny and Bruce talk things over, aka after Danny does at least punch Bruce and Bruce explains why he allowed Dick to become a child hero and how it snowballed into the others, and they are having coffee as they talk about how Danny was found after his kidnapping.

And something isn't adding up, somehow Danny had gone from Gotham to the outside of Amity Park within hours of the same night. Bruce is confused and Danny is trying to remember but he freezes when he does remember something when his eyes caught onto the broken clock in Bruce's office. He remembers the ticking of a grandfather clock and unforgettable voice saying "Time out."

Second idea.

Guys, Danny was a teen hero, a 14/15 year old teen hero who saved the world. Phantom Planet did happen but not the identity reveal. SO Phantom became a known face among others. AKA people around Bruce's age whose a couple years older than Danny. MEANING there is bond to be people who have crushed HARD on teen hero Phantom.

Imagine, when the JL and JLD first started out they had wanted to invite Phantom, but Danny was busy with raising babies Ellie and Dan and had his team or another ghost decline the invite, stating he's retired and wanted peaceful (after)life now. And because no one knows about his human half, they think he's full ghost!

THEN years later, Batman manages to invite him the Watchtower. Everyone who grew up knowing about Phantom is there, pointing and whispering, trying to talk to him, thanking him for saving earth all those years ago, etc etc. Everything is going great, Batman is secretly pleased his fellow heroes are respecting/welcoming Phantom but then all of it turns into a screeching halt when the flirting starts. Phantom is to in awe of space that he doesn't notice the cheesy pick up lines being used on him or Batman looming over behind him glaring at everyone to STEP AWAY from his little brother. NOW.

I really love when Danny just nonchalantly just says stuff. Like its just another normal day for him and it sends shocks to everyone else.

Danny: My clone. She's a free spirit, pun intended, loves roaming. Names Danielle but we've been calling her Ellie since she's trying to find her own self.

Batfam: Unstable?! -trying not to freak out-

Danny: Don't worry we managed to find a way to fix her, took her to my doctor once we stopped the melting problem. She's been good now.

Actually been motivated to write lately. Hopefully my muse stays.

After moving to Gotham and having to deal with a stressful job, Danny has started taking walks around the city as a way to destress.

Since he knows that he could get mugged, he just becomes intangible and invisible while listening to some loud music on his phone.

Unfortunately for him, his control on his Invisibility keeps slipping when he gets lost in his music, and the people of Gotham keep seeing a semi-translucent ghost man walking around at night aimlessly.

Some thugs think it’s just a meta with invisibility and try to mug him, but pass right through and he disappears completely. This convinces them that he is a ghost, since having both invisibility, and intangibility would be too big a coincidence. Not to mention he never reacts to them whatsoever.

The Bat’s get word that a Ghost has been stalking the streets of Gotham, and he looks scarily like Bruce Wayne from the little they have been able to see from him. Now Batman thinks his dad may have come back as a ghost.

Danny is oblivious to all of this. He just likes his nightly strolls.

What if the stressful job he’s dealing with is funeral director/mortician. So when he takes these walks he’s often wearing a fairly nice suit, maybe one that’s a little old fashioned that he bought used in order to save money but still look professional. Or maybe it’s an old one he “borrowed” from Sam’s dad, one the guy wouldn’t miss with how he changes out his wardrobe every gala season.

This kind of outfit, of course, lends further credence to the theory that this is Thomas Wayne’s ghost, cursed to wander the crime ridden streets in which he died.

One night Danny had a little accident as he was leaving the embalming lab to get home. He was actually pretty annoyed about it. He swore the new guy had it out for him, with how he just happened to be carrying old Mrs Smith’s drainage when Danny popped in to say good night and just happened to spill some of it all down the front of Danny’s second best dress shirt and just happened to not get a single drop on himself.

Ellie comes to visit at one point and is super excited to show Danny her new shapeshifting powers. She can’t do a lot right now, not yet, but it’s enough to play around with in the streets of Gotham.

Danny is thrilled his little starlight is learning new powers. To celebrate, both of them dress up real nice and hit the town, taking full advantage of their ghost abilities to make the most of it. They get some ice cream, see a movie, freak out some tourists, scare the shit out of the Joker, mess around near the clock tower, and eventually calm down enough to enjoy the night air through a long walk.

Ellie is giggling and skipping ahead of him, taking advantage of the empty streets to freely shift her form every other block. With one step, her hair is twice as long and sparkles with an unnatural gleam. The next, her dress has turned bright green and the flowers stitched onto the hem wriggle and dance in tune with their blasting music. Danny calls her back when she gets too far, and when Ellie turns around, all of a sudden she looks like a boy with a suit similar to his and an adorable pixie cut.

Danny just sighs and takes his daughter’s hand. He knows that one day, when her powers are more developed, Ellie will truly cause him a royal headache with all the trouble she’ll get up to using her powers. But right now, right here, he’s just glad to have proof that Ellie is becoming her own person. She’s thriving in ways he never will, and that fact alone comforts both of them. Ellie isn’t just a clone anymore. She’s his daughter, and he’ll humor her till the end.

It takes a few days for the thought to crystallize, past the unsteadiness of shock. For his normally brilliant mind to start making connections again. Chaotic. Fae-like. His… His Father was unchanged. A man forever trapped in time, yet free from that terrible alleyway in a way Bruce still isn’t. But the CHILD?

It brings to mind the old tales of changeling. Fae children left where human children were taken from. Or perhaps, like cuckoo birds, fae children who steal a human child’s place. It was… It was seeing himself replaced. His father laughing, playing, unknowing in his adoration of what he believed was his son. The child in Bruce had screamed in horror.

The man in Bruce knows his Father is not unknowing.

At least… he desperately hopes so. It is impossible to tell yet what the ghost of Thomas Wayne is actually SEEING. The world as it is? As it was? Something else, beyond Bruce’s human sight? He’ll need Constantine’s help. Everything in him is trying to fight calling him.

It takes all his strength just to say the words out loud. To ask Clark for help, all the way over in Metropolis City, but Bruce… he can’t. He can’t. He searches the city for signs of his Mother. Like everyone else looking finds nothing. Was she not worthy of a return? Did she not earn some impossible goodbye?

What God would separate his parents? Would cruelly tear them from each other’s arms? Is his Father looking for her? For him? He found him. Is it now his wife he searches the streets for? Imagining her around the next street corner, some function or charity, a dear friends house for a chat?

Or was he pulled back by the Fae Child. Yanked from his rightful sleep, to play house, by the willful demands of a magically powerful child? Did he stand above his grave and wonder where he was? One moment trying desperately to protect his family, the next a graveyard? The world changed. The endless questions haunt Bruce.

Ha. “Haunt”. He’s begun to hate that word. Trapped. His Father isn’t “haunting” anything. His Father has been TRAPPED by this city and a child that Shape-shifts like water flows. Has Gotham not asked enough from his parents? Did they not already pay, for the crime of caring, in blood? Behind him Damian is less practicing his stances, as he is wrathfully hacking away at a training dummy.

Bruce continues to type at the bat-computer, gives him his privacy as he works through his emotions. The disrespect to his grandfather’s spirit. The lose and hurt he is feeling. Damian has never gotten to even meet Thomas Wayne. Known him only as stories and other people’s memories. Paintings upon walls. Old journals.

Beautiful but empty things.

The spaces outlining where a man once stood. A great man. A kind one. One who would have loved him fiercely and been endlessly proud to call him his grandson. One he now sees played a puppet along the filthy streets he died on. Sees at the mercy of forces unknown, to ends unknowable.

Who sees it hurting his family.

Alfred is nearly a ghost himself these days. He has caught him staring at his parent’s portrait so many times. A truly lost expression on the man’s face. When he had thought it a hoax he had been offended but now that it… it is likely REAL? There were so many things left unsaid. Things they wished they could share with his parents.

It is grief ripped anew.

His Father… He had told him he had done a good job. The look on his face excited and melancholy like he was remembering the escapades of Bruce’s youth. When mastering something meant then turning around to show off to his parent’s. Was he proud? Is he?

Bruce is afraid to ask. Afraid to know.

But he will not let his Father be trapped in the city that killed him. Cursed to wander the city of curses. For all he loved this city, Thomas Wayne earned a peaceful rest. Deserved to sleep along side the wife who he loves and loves him more than anything but their son. To dream of dancing and stars and peaceful afternoons, in whatever comes after. Not this. His Father does not deserve this. And Bruce?

He is going to make this right.

Is reincarnation a thing in the DC universe? If so, then John can somehow test if these are actually the souls of Thomas and MArtha Wayne and the test saying that they were. The taruma this would cause Bruce having it confirmed. It isn’t demons or something taking their faces, it’s actually his parents. Would the two start to get some feelings or memories back from their previous lives due to their connection to death as a liminal and a halfa? Actually say things that his parents did or reference events that happened for them. Or them mentioning their daughters older brother then getting confused when questioned deeper, because they don’t have a son? How much would that hurt Bruce that his parents don’t seem to be able to consciously remember him? Also finding out that they became royalty in the afterlife would be a shock.

At some point, Sam goes up to a rooftop just to get a quiet moment to herself and curses when she finds an injured Batman passed out there.

Batman wakes up to a woman who looks like his mother applying first aid with steady hands while complaining about “self-sacrificing idiots not knowing their limits.  How much good do they think they’re gonna do after pushing themselves to a point where they can’t do anything.  At least Ellie didn’t inherit that.”

Bruce is still a little out of it from blood-loss or whatever, but he manages to absorb an important detail: her name is Ellie.  The little sister he never got to meet is named Ellie.

After Sam realizes Batman is conscious, she starts talking to him.  She says a lot of things like “don’t you dare die!” And “I know your work is important, but you can’t just run yourself into the ground like that” and even “as much as the realms would love to have you, you will not be showing up until you’re old and gray.“  She might be redirected some of her frustrations with Danny over the years.

Bruce makes a small choked noise before managing to say “understood,” in a relatively even voice.  

It wasn’t much but Sam caught it, and Now she’s alarmed because Batman doesn’t do shit like that; what happened to him?  Was if fear gas?  No, he’d have an antidote for that.  Did he get hit with some new kind of chemical weapon?  Shit, now she feels bad for yelling at him.  

She offers to stay with him until someone comes to get him, because leaving him alone on a roof when he’s drugged seems irresponsible.  Fuck, he’s shaking.  Sam ends up awkwardly looping an arm around his shoulders and trying to be comforting (which is really not her forte) until one of the other bats shows up.  Then she promptly disappears because she wants out of this situation.  She has her own traumatized hero to look after, thank you very much.

This concept has a lot of room for emotionally intense dramatic irony.

There could be so many interactions where Danny, Sam, and Ellie are totally oblivious.

You could have all three seeming to be ghosts because Sam is heavily liminal, and just popping up at random intervals.

Sam and Damian bust the same dogfighting ring and work together. Damian rescues a box of puppies from the breeder that was supplying the ring. Sam calms some of the dogs that didn’t make it enough to lead them to the ghost zone.

Jason gets pulled in off the street for a quick lecture on the aspects of self care and health that work differently for the undead. Danny asks him to come to him with any questions or concerns he has going forward.

You could have the Bats learn (correctly or incorrectly) that the Waynes reincarnated, and alternating between wanting to know them and not wanting to drag them into things when they seem to be living peacefully.

Danny’s apartment ends up becoming a safe Haven for the Bats after the first couple of times he finds one injured and can’t just do nothing. They can come to him for patch jobs with no judgement, or just for company that doesn’t ask much of them on bad days. Being able to provide the kind of safe place he would have liked to have when he was a hero gives him a sense of contentment and peace.

For all that Batman is good at putting on a strong front when he’s out and about, the poor guy seems so lost and uncertain when he gets somewhere safe enough to drop the act, so Danny tries to be extra kind and gentle with him because he knows what it’s like to have to put on a brave face. (Danny doesn’t realize that Batman is different around him)

At some point Ellie gives Bruce a flower crown made out of dandelions and clover and Bruce just about loses it.

Batman may project stoicism, but at his core, he’s someone who cares a lot.

I’m still imagining Danny being gentle and supportive with all of the Bats. He tells them things he would’ve liked to hear as Phantom. (You are so strong and so brave and so good. You are doing enough. It’s okay to rest sometimes.)

Sam is not the touchy feely type, but she’s getting attached, too. No mushy stuff, but anyone who actually manages to seriously hurt one of the Bats will briefly disappear under mysterious circumstances and turn back up severely traumatized.

Ellie doesn’t take long to decide all of the Bats are family, now. She pesters Jason for shoulder-rides (He’s so tall). She is thrilled when Nightwing enables her need to climb and/or swing from everything (she could fly, but that’s not the same).

She made Tim promise that if he ever becomes a supervillain She can be his right hand man because fuck the gender binary (he was to busy laughing at a kid saying “fuck the gender binary” to figure out a tactful way to change the subject).

Ellie occasionally interrupts patrol to show Robin where she saw a family of opossums (almost always in places a normal child couldn’t reach/shouldn’t go).

Black Bat is invited to play ballerinas (even if they’re really playing warrior princesses undercover as ballerinas).

Ellie teams up with Steph to sneak some ice cream (they didn’t really need to sneak, but it was fun).

Even Oracle gets some crayon drawings (Ellie asked the other bats to give them to her once she realized Oracle probably wasn’t going to visit in person).

I like the idea of Danny and Sam as reincarnated Thomas and Martha being like

“Is it weird that we’re so protective of these random strangers?”

“It doesn’t FEEL weird, but it seems like maybe it should?”

And then both of them shrug and move on because neither has a strong understanding of what normal is anyway.

They don’t know about their past lives, but they are subconsciously influenced by them. Like, the reason Danny panicked and disappeared at that first meeting with Batman instead of just explaining that he works at a morgue was because something deep down realized that showing himself to Bruce in this state would cause him pain and wanted to shield him.

The placement of the red gems and pearls wasn’t intentional, but it also wasn’t coincidental. Clockwork gave them the present to give to Bruce, and they didn’t even think to question it because it just felt right.

If Sam and Danny feel the odd urge to spoil the Batkids rotten, they probably just attribute it to their own time as teen heroes. (Subconscious be like “GRANDBABIES!”)

They get along with Lady Gotham right away, not realizing that she’s already an old friend.

I think it would be funny to have Tucker’s visit coincide with the Duul Aman exhibit going to the Gotham Museum, and for one of the Bats to stumble across Danny and Sam teasing him about it.

Batman paused in a shadowy alcove at the sound of Martha and Thomas Wayne’s laughter. He peered down and saw them standing with a man he didn’t know.

“You both suck.” The stranger grumbled petulantly.

“Aw, come on Pharaoh, You have to admit it’s a little funny,” Thomas said with a cheeky grin.

“I just don’t like thinking about that life. There were a lot of things that the me of now isn’t proud of.” The man sighed in a way that spoke of old regrets that still ached at times, even after having largely made piece with them. Thomas and Martha sobered at the admission, and their eyes became a bit more sympathetic.

“Duul Aman wasn’t one of the worse leaders history had to offer. He made some positive change for his people,” Martha offered.

“Nobody becomes the best version of themselves by being raised to believe they’re a god,” the man said.

“Fair enough, but at least you’ve got a couple of things to be proud of, right?” Thomas Wayne said with a shit-eating grin.

“Making Ras Al Ghul eat it was pretty sweet,” the stranger said with a chuckle. “Though you won’t find records of that accomplishment. The jerk must have outlived me.”

Batman’s eyes widened behind his cowl. He considered following the three, but he really needed to go try and keep Catwoman away from the new exhibit.

Several things clicked into place when he saw the face on a sculpture of the Pharoah Duul Aman.

Fanfic writing issues

So, I've been struggling with completing this one fic for months now. And all of a sudden, all of the writing inspo hits at once. For like, a dozen different fics at once. I have decided to start posting them as I'm happy with the first few chapters of each. But man, Why can't I just finish the one I want to finish first!!!!!

Danny is Bruce’s clone.

Hold on now, hear me out, I get that it’s been done before (but really, can you have too much of a good thing? In fanfics?) but just… give me a second to get to the point of this prompt.

Danny is Bruce’s clone. He wasn’t created to kill Bruce or take over his life or because of Batman or what-have-you, but simply because his creator thought Bruce was pretty. Not in an “I want to get him in my bed” pretty, but an “I want to display him in my house” pretty. Danny’s creator took one look at Brucie Wayne, just before adopting Dick Grayson, and went “he would look lovely in my front room.” They’d intended to create a child with Bruce, but every attempt failed. So, they took drastic measures instead, and, just as rumors of The Batman and Robin Dynamic Duo began being verified as truth, a baby was taken from a cloning pod.

The baby was an ugly little thing, so the creator was very hands off and awaiting the day they could begin grooming the boy into the perfect little centerpiece.

Somehow, in some way, the Fenton’s get ahold of Danny. Which really just ruined the creator’s whole side project, but if mind-controlling was on the table, then mind-wiping was surely available. Now, if only they could find their pretty vase, wherever he might be…

Oh. There he is. And just as pretty as they were imagining.

Meanwhile, Danny is getting creeped out by this person who randomly shows up one day and starts staring at him. Just what he needed, another Fruitloop. Well, might as well ignore them like he does all his other problems.

Hold on, he’s adopted? And shares DNA with who again?? That means Bruce Wayne is his bio-dad, right?

So Danny goes to meet his bio-dad, just to say he has… and the creepy person just. Follows. Everywhere Danny looks, he seems to be meeting that stranger’s eyes again. And it’s like, kinda weird? Like, moreso than being followed by a creepy person is weird - there seem to be various non-lethal traps trying to cage him but they’re, like, stupidly easy to escape. It’s like whoever is trying to capture him is unaware of Danny being Phantom, but who in the world wants to capture just Danny Fenton? He’s 15, average, boring, and broke af, so like? What would even be the point of capturing normal human Danny?

Danny goes to meet Bruce and, just as they lock eyes and Bruce has a moment of “holy shit that kid couldn’t look more like a child me if he tried, who the hell did I knock up 15 years ago” and Danny is like “yep, that’s obviously my dad”, someone comes up from behind Danny and knocks him out with drugs.

They’re in a public place. Neither Bruce nor Danny can reveal themselves. Danny is forced to inhale the chloroform-or-whatever-drug-of-your-choosing, is knocked out, and then taken to another location where he wakes up with a pretty new collar, that blocks Danny’s access to his ghost half, and the creep staring at him waking up.

Bruce drives himself up the wall trying to find the kid that was clearly his, lost like sand within his grasp.

Bio!dad Bruce! AND deaged Dani and Dan! Why? Cause I said so.

Anyways.

Danny has always known he had been adopted by the Fenton's, kinda hard not to know when he does remember living with his biomom until she dropped him off at the Fenton's, old friends of hers, and went to go to Gotham to inform his biodad of his existence. Only that ended in badly cause she had gotten caught in a massive rogue battle and was killed. So yeah that happened and Danny was certain his bio dad knew about him cause his mom did tell him when she planned to tell his dad and she died the day after their meeting and Danny honestly believed his biodad wanted nothing to do with him because he never came to see or meet him.

So yeah, Danny always knew he wasn't a Fenton by blood, but that didnt matter cause they treated him like he was always meant to be theirs (good Fenton parents)

But as Danny got older he started to wonder about his dad. Well.. more like his dad's medical history cause well, he now had Ellie and Dan to think about.

So Danny does what any normal young adult with biofamily questions does.

He takes a DNA test.

When he gets the results back he isn't surprised to see his dad never did the test to connected them but he is surprised by some half siblings he apparently is connected to!!!

Danny gets in contact with a few of them. He really likes talking to the ones in New York, a freelance photographer, and the one in Paris, France a budding fansion designer. He feels like he could really connect to them you know?

(He finds out why he felt a deep connection to them when he goes to visit his New York half brother at the same time his half sister is working on fashion piece in the city. The three decide it would be a prefect time to meet. And a big bad decides to hit. The three totally do the spider-man meme and realize they're all superheroes)

Meanwhile, as a joke, someone in the Batfam decided to test Bruce's DNA to a public DNA site (secretly by hacking into the system and testing it)

No one was expecting an actual match or even three! (Or more lol)

So now I'm thinking (a dangerous past time! I know.) of how fun this could be? Because galas, yes it's a large room, lots of people. But you're still very likely to run into that person with the horrible cologne too many times.

And these two are avoiding one another as much as possible which means maybe falling into old habits and mimicking one another and ending up in the same spots. Worse, the same spots with one of the Wayne's who are entirely too invested in small talk that is designed to gather info without anyone realizing.

Why at the same gala? I'm pointing at Sam, maybe they're older, college because I can for this one (fun to poke at adults playing a game of not touching you). Maybe Sam's mentor is networking and looping Sam in to grow connections with charitable people who want a new cause to brag over. Sam needed someone to whisper her sarcasm to so wouldn't ruin her chances and Danny she can trust not to be a creep.

Back to the circling twins, they're really ignoring the elephant in the room. Pretending the other doesn't exist, their sibling may as well be a topiary, an ice sculpture. Any questions on "So, how do you know..?" Are met with a whole "who's on first base" loop of replies. Verbal waltzing while neither Danny or Damian are even making eye contact.

Nobody's happy except maybe Sam because there's vegan offerings that don't taste like cardboard.

I just want to think of a Danny wearing his faded NASA hoodie and visiting Jazz in Gotham, cause she’s doing a program there for her masters degree or something. But I imagine just Danny, just stepping out to buy a bag of scones for his sister, cause say what you will, he’s got the treats and I imagine he was going back when Joker crashed and wrecked havoc. All the shouts and chaos, very normal yeah.

Joker was like huh which to choose for the star of my show? Oh look a tourist and then was going his annoying joke and punchlines and aiming a weapon at Danny, all up in his face. And Danny just. pick the lunatic by the collar and just threw him through the biscuit display or something, might accidentally did some light maiming by accident because Danny’s still trying to adjust his strength from ghost play-fighting.

But I wanna imagine maybe a civilian Tim Drake who was just being a tired person with his nth cup of motor oil till the joker was gonna cause a situation in the shop and well Tim was already subtly pressing that alert button for the other batfam to go to their location when he just stared blankly at where Joker once stood then back at the ruined display of pastries and a hole in the wall or something- looks like some injuries that could take months to heal… neat. The joker is stuck in the box.

Then Tim stare back at this civilian with the NASA hoodie, the hood fell and this unassuming man did that- and he just picked up his scone from where he dropped them, and Tim doesn’t remember ever moving his feet towards the scone man and just stared at the entire scene.

Danny stared back at this tired dude very sheepishly like oh yeah so, do I have to call my lawyer? Because I have documented trauma and clowns triggered my instinct and the reflex just happened. And Tim was about to open his mouth before he got serve with a surprisingly laminated medial permit from the government state of Illinois, filed and sealed that states that “Daniel Jonathan Fenton” is not liable for any damages caused by PTSD reflex. Scone man pointing at his legal name on the document, like ah you can call me Danny, my sister filed this for me years ago.

Tim is already flipping through the whole thing and finding no signs of forgery or fraud at all, and he can spot them pretty good and he is just gobsmacked while scone man, sorry Danny- is eating a scone and offering the second one as compensation to Tim.

And Tim just took it.

“Huh, is it blueberry?”

“Oh yeah, I mean my sister, Jazz really likes the flavour and we were betting if any here is edib— oh no—I… I need to tell Jazz, wait I’ll call her then my lawyer and you said you’ll call the police.”

“I already did, don’t worry they’ll be here in a minute. And uh I’m Tim, not sure if I mentioned it—“

“Oh nice to meet you, Tim! Honestly, I just got here three days ago, actually just visiting my sister so this is really bad luck, besides who waves a weapon like that, no manners.”

“Oh? Say… Danny, do you have any plans after meeting your lawyer?”

“Huh— I mean, I guess get this over with, and deal with Jazz giving me a look.”

“Mhm, what do you say about meeting my lawyer about this fascinating permit you got?”

You know how in some ghost stories sometimes its not a person or a land that's haunted but the items?

Well what if, when looking for a mother's day gift for his mom, Danny is looking around a pawn shop and finds a necklace, it's missing some pearls but it's just enough to pass off as a decent gift. Danny humms but decides against it and goes to leave it....

That was until he gasped out blue frost and spots a ghostly woman appear out of the necklace with a somber smile. She isn't as seeable as the other ghosts in Amity though, meaning she doesn't have enough ectoplasm on her own (that might change the longer she's in Amity and around Danny though) and that right now only Danny can see her.

And Danny well... hes been doing his hero gig for a bit now, might go and ask if there was anything he can do to help.

And later Danny's good deed... bites him back. Oh boy. Because now he has the Bats looking into Amity Park... Wait what do you mean Martha is now strong enough to be seen?!

As soon as she's handed over? Well, she waits to be taken to the cave. She knows her boy is going to test the necklace. And then she appears. And tells them everything she just learned. Thomas isn't just a guardian spirit. He's a doctor, a healer. It was his calling to heal others and his city even before he died.

Thomas pouring his energy into his family is a good part of why and how his son and grandkids have managed to survive injuries that should have killed them. His efforts to heal them is why their injuries haven't left them crippled or with limited physical capability. His energy and Lady Gotham's power boost is why they heal up so quickly and cleanly, without debilitating complications.

Keeping them safe and in decent health is exhausting for a spirit. Even with Lady Gotham's help, he's still been barely more than a shade as all his available energy goes towards his living family.

Martha herself was fractured for so long, scattered among her pearls. She was barely a shade until her pearl necklace got to Amity Park and started absorbing ambient ectoplasm. When Danny had first seen her she'd been glitching and faded like a stuttering film reel. He'd struggled to understand her at first, which is why he rushed her to Frostbite.

With good clean ecto and time soaking in the Zone she stabilized and could manifest more fully without glitching. But not enough to appear to normal people yet. Frostbite explained she needed her anchor object, the pearls, to be unified and whole to gain her full strength.

Martha could sense them, and get faint glimpses of the surroundings of the missing pearls. The rest were all in Gotham. A good chunk were at Wayne manor. Between that and Martha wanting to reunite with Thomas and Bruce, and the grandkids, of course Danny would help her get home.

Road trip to Gotham City! Sam has always wanted to go. Tucker wanted to see Wayne Enterprises. And even if not, they're all Ride and Die with each other. Weekend road trip let's go! Sam even has her license and Danny can drive almost anything even if he's only got a learner's.

Danny wears the pearls under his shirt, against his skin, to maximize the ecto Martha can absorb. It helps let her manifest during the trip. And not just because Danny takes every opportunity to literally dramatically clutch his pearls as a joke.

Once Bruce takes the necklace to place safely with the pearls he'd managed to safekeep, then Martha has enough of her anchor reunited to manifest to Bruce and all her grandkids. She's still a little fuzzy on the edges and not fully corporeal. But they can feel her touch even if faintly. The more pearls collected the more solid and present she becomes.

And oh, when Bruce finds out his parents, his wonderful loving proud of him parents, that he just got back in his life; and the kids that did so much to reunite them; and his big little boy Jason, are considered non-sentient by law? Are at risk of being hunted down like vermin and experimented on? And when the Batkids find out? Oh ho.

Goodness can you imagine the emotions Bruce goes through when Danny and his friends show up with her pearls or do you think they leave it at the front gate, wave at the camera and book it to the car (Lady Gotham has made plans to keep them in Gotham the moment she felt Martha, her wounderful, kind, and badass when needed to be Martha, return home. She knows her Knight will want to meet with Team Phantom thus she plans to stall them within her city self)

Then the emotions he feels when his mother appears fully, after getting the rest of the pearls, and she explains everything and then lightly touches his batman suit and says "Thomas dear come on out." And she gives the extra ectoplasim she's been storing since Amity to him and he appears and they're both so happy to see each other. And Beuce and the others just watch as the two reunite after years of being apart. And ugh the feelings when Thomas explains he's been protecting his son and grandkids with Lady Gothams help as best as he could with his limited power.

Bruce's need to protect goes into overdrive, for his parents, for his own kids (cause a lot of them would be in danger from the GIW, especially those whose died), and those kids that gave him his mom's pearls back as well. And well... the GIW will have NOTHING left to its name or power.

Been thinking about this AU again.

When Ellie shows up she is instantly flying her way to Danny and hanging off his shoulders, giggling and telling him all about her time in Metropolis. How she was hard pranking that fruitloop Lex Luthor, how some ghosts around the guy told her about the clone Superboy and how she took great fun getting revenge for a fellow 'failed' clone. Even pranked Superman for a while too. (Nothing too bad, just some harmless and humiliating pranks as payback for when he was a grade A jerk to Superboy) Before she talks about her other recent adventures, such as finding some assassin cult worshiping some Realms sewage (the Pits) or the last time she was in Gotham she made friends with a Solomon Grundy, a cool zombie guy, who promised to introduce her to THE Red Hood who turns out to be a Reverent the next time she was visiting.

Ellie doesn't filter herself at all.

She then notices she's in the Batcave with Batman and his brood. She goes 'eep!' and makes herself invisible for a moment. This makes the Phantom trio laugh while Martha and Thomas are instantly charmed by the little free roaming ghostling.

Cue Martha going into mother mode for Ellie.

I’m sorry, but with everything the bats have heard about the GIW, and the comments on how Danny’s parents treat and plan to do to ghosts, there is no way that Alfred is just picking out a room only for Ellie.

Anyone else get a funny image of the face Damian would make when he hears the pits are ghost sewage. Also I can imagine that when Bruce finally realizes that it’s is actually his parents ghosts and not some sort of trick or hallucination he is going to be an emotional brain buffering mess for anywhere between an hour to couple days. Cause their deaths started the whole Batman thing and had been one of his driving factors ever since. All the bat kids are scared cause this is the most emotion they have seen from him, EVER. Also I too would LOVE to read/see the scene of a barely there Martha showing up trying to gesture to put the pearls he just got with the rest he safe-kept so she can show up and actually tell him everything she's learned while in Amity and the Realms. And Bruce going through his emotions over seeing his mother and later his father would be amazing!

Been thinking about this AU again.

When Ellie shows up she is instantly flying her way to Danny and hanging off his shoulders, giggling and telling him all about her time in Metropolis. How she was hard pranking that fruitloop Lex Luthor, how some ghosts around the guy told her about the clone Superboy and how she took great fun getting revenge for a fellow 'failed' clone. Even pranked Superman for a while too. (Nothing too bad, just some harmless and humiliating pranks as payback for when he was a grade A jerk to Superboy) Before she talks about her other recent adventures, such as finding some assassin cult worshiping some Realms sewage (the Pits) or the last time she was in Gotham she made friends with a Solomon Grundy, a cool zombie guy, who promised to introduce her to THE Red Hood who turns out to be a Reverent the next time she was visiting.

Ellie doesn't filter herself at all.

She then notices she's in the Batcave with Batman and his brood. She goes 'eep!' and makes herself invisible for a moment. This makes the Phantom trio laugh while Martha and Thomas are instantly charmed by the little free roaming ghostling.

Cue Martha going into mother mode for Ellie.

I’m sorry, but with everything the bats have heard about the GIW, and the comments on how Danny’s parents treat and plan to do to ghosts, there is no way that Alfred is just picking out a room only for Ellie.

Anyone else get a funny image of the face Damian would make when he hears the pits are ghost sewage. Also I can imagine that when Bruce finally realizes that it’s is actually his parents ghosts and not some sort of trick or hallucination he is going to be an emotional brain buffering mess for anywhere between an hour to couple days. Cause their deaths started the whole Batman thing and had been one of his driving factors ever since. All the bat kids are scared cause this is the most emotion they have seen from him, EVER. And I think it would be before they get all the pearls and she is just barely visible to them. Bonus points if someone writes this scene.

Oh of course Alfred is also picking rooms out for them, there is no way Team Phantom is leaving the Batcave/Wayne Manor without being adopted by the end of it. Team Phantom doesn't notice their own fragile bonds coming to life cause they were all focused on Ellie's at the moment and making sure she gets along with her maybe new home.

Oh Damian's face when he realizes the pits are ghost sewage would be amazing, horrified and disgusted then wondering how to discreetly tell his mother so she isn't around the stuff anymore, and then when his grandfather comes around to cause trouble when and how to break the news so he can gleefully watch his grandfather's face be horrified with this knowledge.

Also I too would LOVE to read/see the scene of a barely there Martha showing up trying to gesture to put the pearls he just got with the rest he safe-kept so she can show up and actually tell him everything she's learned while in Amity and the Realms. And Bruce going through his emotions over seeing his mother and later his father would be amazing!
