This might be a pretty big question to ask… but… what’s your “if you haven’t read this how do you call your self a drarry shipper” fic? (can absolutely be multiple)

Hmmm I’ll be perfectly honest here, I’m not a big fan of this kind of question. Speaking as a reader, I think it puts unnecessary pressure onto us to not only read but enjoy a popular fic that may or may not be our thing, simply because everyone else said so. Imo shippers shouldn’t have to prove they’re knowledgeable in “classics” to be recognized as shippers.

This is why I have avoided asks about classics reclists altogether. Nothing against those who make them, they’re awesome and so helpful to newcomers! It’s just not something I feel either equipped or inclined to do; the stress of putting together something that comprehensive while unknowingly pressuring someone to read those titles is such a turn off for me lol

That being said, I often see people mentioning Turn by Saras_Girl, Running on Air by eleventy7 and What We Pretend We Can’t See by gyzym as that kind of “ultimate fics”, widely read and adored. They’re indeed brilliant and I definitely recommend them to anyone who’s exploring the ship, but if you don’t enjoy them that’s okay too. I would love to read other’s thoughts on this, so feel free to join the convo :)

The way I got into reading Drarry and fic of any kind years ago, was by first accidentally reading the awesome, hot, glove kink BDSM fic Punishment by dysonrules, and then by inhaling everything else written by dysonrules - so many great ones!! I had struck gold.

So while I agree that there are no fics that are required Drarry reading (although some fics like Running on Air, Turn, or Right Hand Red are considered much loved Drarry classics by many including me), I would suggest checking out dysonrules’ fics to anyone who hasn’t read them, because they are awesome, varied and they have a special place in my heart for leading me into the wonderful world of fandom. Of all of them, the one that stuck with me the most is probably In Pieces.

So while anyone can call themselves a Drarry shipper without having read any particular fic. I probably wouldn’t be a Drarry shipper if it weren’t for dysonrules’ fics😊.

i'm always surprised to see bakugou-antis and bkdk-antis in this fandom after all their development. like, at this point i think that they're just projecting their experience onto bakugou ??? i read some of their metas too and their understanding of bakugou's character is completely different (and, for me, completely wrong too) from ours... also the fact that they are convinced that midoriya has a trauma and that he never wanted to be friend with bakugou, like??? sorry for this but i'm just ???

but yeah i’ve always been convinced it’s projecting, deku has given no indication of meaningful resentment toward bakugo so far. like, at all. even when he was upset about their initial encounter in the first chapter deku was frustrated and sad with their situation and bkg’s deterioration rather than angry with him. and Even When he gets mad at him during deku vs kacchan 2 it’s only when bkg begins self-doubting and thinking negatively abt himself.

tbh even the idea that deku resents bkg for how he treated him is ridiculous in and of itself, as the nature of deku’s character is to disregard his own well-being in favor of others’. that’s part of why bkg hasn’t apologized from a narrative position--deku will never resent anyone for his own sake, as he is the embodiment of selflessness & he has to learn to worry about himself properly before bkg can apologize. otherwise if deku vocalizes his forgiveness it doesn’t mean anything in the narrative. the only explanation for antis’ whole “deku hates bkg” take is that they’re conflating him with their misconstrued ideas of trauma and trauma responses or themselves & their own personal experiences, which is just......y’all

My favorite headcanon is Ron teaching Harry to shave with some sort of charm that all the boys are taught growing up by their dad’s. But of course Harry never got to have that, so when he’s like 13 and hair starts forming on his face, Ron being the sweetheart that he is offers to do it for him.

I LOVE this idea. I can see Ron helping him out and Seamus wandering into the bathroom and giving them shit and Ron being all “Piss off” and just continuing to carefully shave Harry’s face all the while sharing horror stories of all the crap his brothers tried to pull on him the last summer when he first started shaving. “Stop laughing, Harry, or I’m gonna accidentally charm off your whole sodding chin!”
