(The Sims 2) New hot key I found today! Ctrl+Shift+L + BONUS
While I was poking around in the game files, I stumble upon a text list which contained "Congratulations... The Sims 2 Nightlife!" something something, but then, something in that text list caught my eyes "Press and hold ctrl+shift+L to play again..." something like that... So I decided to try it out in game and... (check out the video down below)
As you can see, the lot reloaded! So no more loading in and out from Lot View to Neighborhood View and back to Lot View, SKIPPING A WHOLE LOADING SCREEN!! WHAAAAT!!!!! But SAVE BEFORE DOING SO!!!!
**Bonus** As you could see in the video, I didn't open the "family bio, enter lot" menu (whatever it's called, the one that displays the family portrait, bio, etc) I Double Clicked and that even works on Entering a Neighborhood

I made a mod.
With lots of help, lol.
After years of SimPE dabbling I finally became brave (and desperate) enough to learn how to read and edit Sims 2 BHAVs.
"Go Out (for Tea)" is a mod to help handle the Vanilla Sims 2 "quirk" wherein a sim will return home from a community lot at the same time they left. It is designed as an alternative to Community Lot Time, but you can absolutely use both together as there are no conflicts.
All information below this cut 😊 And warning... there's a lot. Sorry. My "simple" mod turned out to be quite complicated but hey ho!
Conflicts section updated as Gummi quickly found a conflict with AptHack, I have made a compatible version and included a download link 😊 Thanks!
UPDATE!
@gummilutt discovered a slight error I had made with the University break patch code, it was only pausing university for 1 sim at a time but it was stopping all of them from getting notifications about class 😂 oops! And then she showed me how to fix it because Gummi is amazing, and once again, this mod would never have been made without her.
If you've already grabbed my mod, please download THIS and replace the patch file. Main archives have been updated if you haven't grabbed the mod yet 😊

I have also discovered another conflicting mod with this particular part of the mod which is "No Finals at Night" by TwoJeffs. I have added it to the list of known conflicts and will try to resolve the conflict in the next few days if I can ! Thank you all for the warm reception of the mod so far, I'm very excited about it and am so glad that so many of you are too! 🥰 Now I gotta go to bed and rest my poor brain lol. I've been coding through having the Flu and I'm tired 😂

Deadly Bee Swarms | Download A mod that helps make 'death by flies' a tiny bit easier to achieve.
I've never had a ghost of this death type in my game naturally, even when intentionally neglecting my sims' cleanliness, but now it's an added risk when hiking and hunting bugs! Still rare, but no longer seemingly impossible. x)
Behaviour This mod adds a simple coin flip to determine whether the swarmed sim will die or not.
I haven't seen enough bee swarms in normal gameplay to feel like this would need additional logic, but if there's interest I can add some extra checks for a sims' activity and body skill levels, too. :)
Conflicts This mod overrides the BHAV Interaction - Chased By Bees.
As far as I can see, there hasn't been a hiking or bug hunting mod to alter this particular BHAV yet, but please do let me know if you run into any conflicts!

Decrease the strength of terrain paint application (in TS2)
If you are like me, you almost certainly never play around with terrain paint. It's not that I don't like to, but the application always felt too strong for me to do anything that doesn't look extreme with it.
So, the other day I was going around looking at the game's directory, and stumbled across these two values in the "Terrain.ini" file:
This file is located in: LATEST EP/TSData/Sys *The exact location depends on where you installed the game, which edition you are currently using and which is the latest EP you got installed.
This might just be common knowledge, but I personally never saw anything related to it, so I'm sharing in case it interests others.
It's fairly self-explanatory: if you change the "PaintBrushStrength" value to something between 0 and 1 (I imagine higher values are accepted but probably useless), the strength of the paint application decreases accordingly.
I've personally put the value at 0.1 – but you might find that too slow of an application. I also feel like this increases how much money is spent to paint the terrain, since weaker application = holding the mouse button longer = more money spent.
I tried to play around with the "PaintBrushApplicationInterval", increasing it to like 6000 (= 1min), but noticed no difference, so I left the default value as is.
Important note: Remember to backup the file! Alternatively, you can add a comment to any change you've made that reminds you what the default value was (I haven't changed anything else).
