The best is when it's like "can only be cast while under the effect of Fnoipdoong" and then you have to mouse over literally every skill until you randomly stumble across the one that says "grants Fnoipdoong" (the skill is not called Fnoipdoong), and chances are there are two skills that grant it, but it sure isn't going to tell you that.

2. Horizon

There was no horizon in the Shroud - only layers and layers of old roots and tall branches. It seemed just as deep, or deeper, even, than it could possibly be wide, and as a child Nahte had thought falling from one of the high branches could send you so far down into the dark that you'd land in the Lifestream itself.

Now that he had reached the ripe old age of 15, he doubted it to be quite so severe… but wasn't eager to test the assumption.

Ears flicking, he crouched on a mossy bough, then leapt high. Claws caught the spindly branch above as his tail swung out to counterbalance, and in a smooth motion Nahte scaled another level higher.

Light began to filter through the leaves as he climbed the canopy, dark blues melting into grey greens, and then warmer yellows. The scent in the air changed. Wind ruffled the thinning limbs of great trees, and he couldn't hold back a smile at the feel of it, cool across his face.

Nearby, his pair of loyal arbor buzzards chittered - mixed warbles of excitement and fear. These were not their hunting grounds. But Nahte was undeterred. As he reached the crest of the tree, others around it tapered off, and night-sensitive eyes narrowed to slits as he found himself in open air at last.

"Wow." He breathed. Over the waves of mighty treetops, Nahte could see for miles in every direction - until the gathered distant mountains covered up the horizon line. Somewhere out there, too, an ocean lay beyond his view. And beyond those? Places he'd never seen. People he'd never met. Wonders far beyond the scope of the Shroud that had hidden him his whole life.

Someday, he'd see it all.
