AU where Ralsei is Flowery's grumpy cat 🌼

I haven't drawn a fanart illustration in a while, so I really wanted to have a go at it again. I absolutely loved Ralsei's and Flowery's rival-like dynamic in chapter 5, it was so funny and it made Ralsei so much more endearing to me. Ralsei's sprite expressions reminded me of a grumpy cat especially with how nonchalantly Flowery ragebaited all the time, so I just couldn't help myself here. Made with Clip Studio Paint!

You know, since freedom is turning out to be a bigger and bigger theme in Deltarune, I’ve been wondering. Who’s a character who has achieved freedom?

Asriel and Dess. They both left Hometown, even if in different ways. They are now outside forces looking in.

Someone playing a song. Someone talking on the phone. A Knight who probably works for the Angel itself. A fallen star with tears made of glass. A Knight in an armor made of glass. An Angel seeking to meet with its desire. Just some stuff to think about.

Revisited this animation to test a new way to animated his face.

I decided to replace the 3D face topology with a flat panel, and drawing the face with grease pencil. It was soooo worth it, this is way more freeing and fun.

Since my Trobbio post was well-received, I thought I’d share my thoughts on Widow as well. There was a video about her that made me so angry I didn’t even look at the comment section, so idk what the fandom’s general opinions on it are. Personally, I think the interpretation they arrived at by the end was way too generalized, and also borders on victim blaming.

Widow’s story is that of an abused child. There is no “correct” response to abuse, especially when it is your own MOTHER that did everything. She had complicated feelings on the matter, but what did her sisters do when they found out? That’s right, they tortured her and left her behind! Obviously she’d never want to share anything about her feelings again! Of course she’d go crawling back to her mom to try to get her validation! Completely understandable reaction!

But the thing is, nobody gives a shit about Widow in the game. Noone bothers to try helping her at all! Hornet’s first reaction to seeing her was to kill her in an incredibly painful way! I get that in the long run that was the best course of action, since Widow would have become serious trouble if kept alive, but it’s still tragic to me. (As far as I’m aware Hornet never has a moment when she feels guilty about that, or wonders what she could have done differently. Correct me if I’m wrong though.)

To me, Widow is the familymember everyone else has given up on. She’s weird and she’s IN THE WRONG, so why does she deserve help? And no, simply telling her to move on isn’t enough. She needs professional help, and it’s telling of this family and the society of Pharloom in general that it’s never attempted.
