bo-katan is soooooo compelling as a character. people hate her and say she’s a bad person or bad leader but like. that’s never been what’s she’s been about to me or what i read into her. for me, her and satine are two opposite ends of reaction to experiencing severe trauma from surviving civil war as children. for satine that made her a militant pacifist, she reshaped the world around her so that she could feel safe and not have to experience that sort of violence ever again. for bo, she never feels safe unless she’s in the middle of those kinds of extreme circumstance. she acts irrationally and has beef with everyone because some part of her is very threatened by how safety feels, so she has to keep burning bridges and starting shit so that she can at least find the comfort of familiarity

do y'all remember when people started doing "prev tags" on this site & some people started going full old man yells at cloud moral panic about it. i feel like now we've settled into a pretty good equilibrium, people haven't stopped adding tags to a post but rather "prev tags" is a way of engaging with other tags while staying in the sotto voce of how tags are used on this site. but its just funny to me & i think is a reminder that people on this site are very often very eager to engage in that kind of New Thing Bad (And It's Children's Fault) behavior

i think when people came over from twitter and started doing this (bc, iirc, it was people from twitter who started prev tags) people who were born and bred tumblrinas didn’t get or like it because the site culture up to that point was that you just stole/copied previous tags if they made you laugh, and people didn’t like having to click through 1,000 “prev tags” reblogs just for the end result to be just someone tagging a joke post with glup shitto, or for someone to have broken the chain by deleting their post (meaning you’d have no way of finding out what the prev tags actually said, and any time spent clicking through to it was then wasted)

but now the existing tumblr culture sort of melded with prev tags, and it’s pretty rare to see a post tagged merely ‘prev tags’ and have to click through a bunch of times anymore, because now typically the convention is to copy the tags, and then add a SECOND tag starting with “<- prev” which obviously makes it way easier for anyone reading to see the joke without any time wasted (so if it’s not that funny it no longer matters)

true! although I still feel the reaction was a lot bigger than the issue really warranted. like rather than going "hey if you are gonna prev tags something, please add the tags themselves into your tags" people were writing posts with the attitude of like. twitterites are corrupting our pure good tumblr tag culture with their insipid prev tags. i remember at the time thinking it was extra & that prev tags seemed like a good addition to tag culture & time has proven me right!

tbh, as a born and bred tumblrina, i actually think having to click through 1,000 prev tags to get to either a really good OR a really bad tag is actually pretty hilarious in and of itself, in a way that does feel pretty tumblr coded (annoying people and wasting their time).

If I immediately say no, he'll definitely think I'm not Rako Hardeen. It's too obvious. Would Rako Hardeen have gay sex? Hardeen would never let himself be in a position so vulnerable, nevermind gay or not. Though ... would he? Hardeen, albeit a character I play, is a real person as well. While I may not jump at the opportunity for sex, someone such as Rako Hardeen may see it as a show of power. So if I declined here, Bane may suspect that I am not power-hungry enough to be a Jedi killer, and accuse me of being an imposter.

I have to go through with it. I don't have a good enough reason to reject him.

But if I say yes, that still points towards me being an imposter, who could use the argument that a "hole is a hole" and therefore top. No, if I suggest topping, he'll definitely think I'm not Rako Hardeen. But wait. That's it.

I'll take his dick up my ass, proving that I am both a ruthless bounty hunter and Rako Hardeen.

Cad Bane, in the meantime, ate his ration bar without so much giving it a second thought. His trap was well laid and well prepared.
