Ming’s Court - Flash Gordon (1980)
fun fact: a 1984 fan film, "The Wrath of Eukor," experimented with the idea of a female Doctor.
Barbara Benedetti plays an alternate Seventh Doctor in this story, produced by Seattle International Films, as well as three other stories. The full list, including YouTube links:
"The Wrath of Eukor" (1984)
"Visions of Utomu" (1986)
"A Doctor in the House" (1987)
"Broken Doors" (1988)
The final film ended with her regenerating into an alternate Eighth Doctor, played by Michael Santo, but this was their last story.
the first doctor is such an asshole on purpose all the time i love him
3 hot tips for participating in fandom:
1. Just do it. Scream into the void and the void will scream back. Someone else out there is just as weird and obsessed as you.
2. Curate your experience. If you don’t like something, leave it alone. Exit the page. Hit the back button. Block liberally.
3. Relax. There won’t be a test, I promise. There is no wrong way to be a fan, and you don’t need to justify your interests/kinks/squicks to anyone.
Ok so @chronically-fangirls asked me to do an Anthony Valentine rec-list, since I posted his images all the time lmao. So here we go <3
I’ll do a brief introduction, since some of my followers aren’t familar with him: Anthony Valentine was an English actor who was mostly famous for his really wide range of roles (from passionate heroes to sinister villains, from down-to-earth street gangsters to elegant aristocrats), his alluring and distinctive voice (with more than 10 kinds of different accents). He was born in 1939 in a working class family, started his acting career since age 10, had been acting for almost all his life (to quote his words, he can’t remember a day he doesn’t want to act). Besides the acting talent, there are many things he can do, riding, fencing, dancing, and singing… I will not just write them all down lol.
i enjoy the whiplash contrast you get from time lords being silly little bureaucrats and imperialist warmongers and fucked up eldritch creatures and stuffy academics and an entire species that never learnt to process their emotions all at once

This is a wildly dramatic way to answer your door and I love it.
A Medieval Book Mended With Silk Thread
Parchment was difficult to make and expensive to replace, and so medieval scribes would often find other ways to restore them and help ameliorate further damage.
Doctor who
I know most people on here don't think like this. But it really bothers me when people say if it wasn't on the BBC Show it isn't canon.
First off, what is even canon is Doctor who. Time is always re-written. By their logic does season 5 of the new who even count?
Second, why are they so determined to make Doctor who smaller. Why can't it be this large ocean where no one person knows everything? That's one of the best parts of it, (in my opinion) always learning more and getting to see everything in a new way.
Look, Doctor, I’ve seen some spaceships in my time, admittedly nothing like this. Well, what does this do?
it’s been said before and it will be said again but i’m begging you all nicely to restrain yourselves from being so casually aggressive and rude and obnoxious in the tags & reblogs of a complete stranger’s posts. no one wants to know that you hate [tv show that op giffed]. no one wants to know that you hate [character that op drew]. no one wants to hear you being ugly and negative for no reason. say what you want to say in your own post. don’t hit the reblog button. blacklist relevant tags. unfollow or block relevant accounts. log out. shut down. get help.
LOUDER FOR EVERYONE IN THE BACK!!!!
i wish we did dress like 70s/80s sci fi shows predicted future fashion would look, everything would seem a lot less horrifying in bright colours, questionable leather choices, and all the makeup in the world
just gonna leave the ace photoshoot here
I didn’t know Ace was in Batman: The Animated Series
Sophie Aldred has a story she tells (or used to tell) about this photoshoot involving trying to get into this outfit and large quantities of talcum powder.
Didn't she say that along with the talc she used some kind of speciality spray on lube from a local sex shop and the spray was actually called 'Sex' or something similar? God, it's been ages since I read the interview where she mentioned it, I'll have to try and find it.
