I’m gonna be thinking about the way they stare at each other before hugging forever I fear. The mountain of emotion in that pause only for the dam to break and for Sydney to rush into Carmen’s arms so fast that he could barely get a step in toward her. The way he drops what he’s doing the SECOND it looks like she’s gonna move. All that time Carmen spent trying to bridge that emotional gap, to get Sydney to confide in him the way he did in her, fucking it up along the way time after time, all that fighting and in the end she makes up the distance he could never cross —because it was always hers to cover. And so she just barrels into his arms.

It’s the hands on the back of each other’s necks, Carmen cupping Sydney’s face, her burying herself in the hug and squeezing him half to death, rocking back and forth, laughing and crying, knowing they’ll be okay even if and when it hurts. Knowing they have each other! The love was there and they just had to find it again.

I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.

Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.

You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.

also i can not express how important kate and anthony are for me as an older sister who basically carries the same guilt and traumas as them… now i may not live in the 1800s but i just see myself in the actions they make, both good and bad. and i also love seeing a romance between two equals, between two people who carry a same sense about the world and whose love for each other manifests in growth besides of passion (because yes their scenes are also SO SEXY !! )

i can’t believe it’s been SO long since we’ve had a scene where frank and karen actually talk to each other rather than about each other (which is still nice obviously, it shows how much of an impact they have mutually to their lives) but holy shit they really need to have a conversation, possibly longer than 1 minute

also like it’s so crazy when you think about it, how little they see each other these days but when they’re in a room together the chemistry is just off the chart you can spot the yearning form a mile away i need that again
