who’s sick of hearing me yap about ryan? everybody? cool, that’s fine:

post-game when ryan is lowk spiraling because what do you MEAN chris was a bad dude? chris made him feel safe and all the stuff and if that wasn’t real then what was real? do his friends actually care about him? does his family? what if they’re all lying to his face?

anyway if ryan didn’t completely distrust any and everyone for a nonspecific amount of time i’d be very surprised.

And this hurts my feelings on his behalf because he already seems distrustful of people wanting to get to know him. Like, Ryan wants to flirt with Dylan, he has it in him to, but he seems to not fully trust Dylan’s intentions so he’s pretty restrained about it. He wants to be friends with his coworkers but he’s hesitant to let them really get to know him, to tell them anything about his family or future plans (do any of them even know he has a sister? About his interest in animation?). How much worse is that going to be after the events of the game, when another parental figure has failed to keep him safe and he’s lost one if not more of his friends because the Hackett kids wouldn’t tell him the truth???

His character bio says that he craves connection, but he’s also pretty clearly afraid of it. The thought that he could be even more closed off after breaks my heart, but it’s a very real possibility.

It's blurry, his memory, like his brain can't quite figure out how to process the change in becoming something else entirely. Some kind of animal.

There had been some thing outside and he had stupidly gone out to fix the wire when they thought it was clear. It had made sense at the time. Dylan knew how to work the radio and would be able to call for help. But it wasn't some dumb animal. It was smarter than they thought and it was waiting for them to come out. They had a gun.

They thought it was safe.

The thing had gotten the drop on Ryan who fumbled the gun, shot going wide of its target. He didn't have time to swing the barrel back up when it grabbed him and threw him like a ragdoll. When it…

Ryan feels his abdomen. Perfectly intact. Not a single scar in sight. If he wasn't in the middle of the woods covered in blood and naked he could have thought the attack some kind of nightmare.
