the barn swallows that roost here have arrived from migration!! such a treat to see. last year a pair built a nest next to my front door, and watching the fledglings as they grew was so neat!

there were five last year; they outgrow the nest so fast!

my housing complex has destroyed the pair’s nest again this year :( they did it last year but the pair was able to rebuild it super fast, but i haven’t seen them today.

i hate that they feel the need to remove them; swallows eat mosquitoes and other nasty bugs, i WANT them here!!

#i love seeing them after work :(#if they don’t start building again in the next day or two i’ll have to assume they’ve vacated …

I had a full day of writing again for the first time in a very long time and it feels so gooood! 2500 words written today. 10k something in total I think. Now it just needs a wrap-up and lots of editing but that's fine, the base is done 💪
