TORMENT BOOK REVIEW, 3/5 STARS Overall this book was okay and was an improvement to 'Fallen'. However, I do have some issues this book. 1) I got so frustrated easily. I couldn't stand Luce's recklessness, and how she just didn't consider the consequences. An example of this would be when she kept using, or rather, going into the Announcers and ended up in Vegas. I'm pretty sure what you don't do is go to visit some past family member that you've never met in this life in a place you've never been to before. And she was lucky Arriane was there too! Also, Luce wanted to avoid the possible deaths of her friends like what happened to Penn. Well the risks of this could've had the same effects... 2) The falseness of Francesca. One minute she's scolding Luce and the next she acts like nothing has really happened? And how she admitted that she'd kill Steven without second thoughts?! What even are the relationships in these books? 3) Daniel and Luce's relationship. Yeah I get how he wants to keep her "safe" and all this but they could've put a bit of meaningful trust in each other. For a start it would've helped if Daniel actually informed Luce with everything that was going on and if Luce actually stayed on campus instead of getting herself killed that felt like a hundred times. 4) I also want to know what Luce's mum and dad thought of all the mess at the end! So I have no idea if I'll read the other two books. I made the *mistake* of buying the whole series a while back so I guess I'm stuck with them.
