I feel like we don’t talk enough about Andrew’s “tell me no” after their first kiss, like Andrew likes Neil so much he doesn’t trust himself to stop, but he knows he would if Neil asked him to.

I think when Neil kisses him back Andrew realizes his feelings could be reciprocated and that scares him. Like I think a small part of him wanted Neil to reject him because he’s familiar with people rejecting him. Meanwhile, Neil makes an active effort to understand him and he stays with the foxes for him. I know a lot of people suggest Andrew stops because he felt that he made Neil uncomfortable, but by the way Neil reacts I would say it’s because Neil reciprocated the kiss and Andrew wasn’t fully expecting that.

I think the reason Jean's trilogy feels so much more stressful to me than Neil's is because I knew where the foxhole court was going to go the whole time. It was always going to end with neil's father finding him. it was always going to end in a ravens v foxes match. it was always going to end with neil or riko dead at the moriyama's hand.

but jean? jean was always going to end up dead. he was always going to be a martyr, a sacrifice, a pawn. but somehow he didn't. somehow he survived that. and now anything could happen. good, bad, ugly. he promised away the ending he was fated for, so now he has to live. he isn't a part of some fated prophecy or meta chess match. his future is so open-ended. and that feel so stressful.
