🧵 Embroidery is such a nice way to relax and still be creative. This was my first embroidery kit to get the hang of it. Still need to wash of the blue marker, but overall it turned out to be quiet nice. Still have a lot to learn tho.

🍄 a stroll through the faerie forest 🍄

The Hidden People by Alison Littlewood was the perfect book to bring with me on our walk through the forest for some pictures. This book tells the story of Lizzie Higgins’ disappearance which her husband blames on the fact that she could’ve been a fairy changeling and has now been kidnapped by the Hidden People. I think stories about fairies are really creepy because of their dark woods and folklore.

Our young friend Edgar embarks on a trip to his Uncle Montague’s mansion to hear the old fellow tell some horrifying (definitely not real???) tales of terror. This collection of Uncle Montague’s tales are actually pretty scary if my younger self would read them (and still find them creepy). These were well-written and extremely atmospheric, with illustrations that were equally as creepy as their stories. I’ve now read this book twice and still was excited to begin a new story every time.

Perfect if you want to read some short horror stories for Spooktober. A quick read, but nevertheless terrifying. 👻

October is the best month of the whole year for me. Not only is it our birthday month, but Halloween is something we look forward to every single year.
