You hear things, over the years, in any fandom. But some things you don’t really want to ask “is that true?” — especially because you don’t want it to be. Because it’s terrible, and you just want it to be a rumor. Some terrible, weird, awful rumor. And then one day you’re listening to that actor on a podcast and they talk openly about that thing. That terrible thing. The thing that happened to them. That you’d heard about but never wanted to know, for so many reasons. And suddenly you feel so many things. You want to hug them, or offer a supportive message. But you can’t, because it just feels wrong to. Even writing this feels uncomfortable. Wrong. Because it’s about something wrong. Something that shouldn’t be. I’ve gone back and forth for over a week now on if I should even post this post. And I’m still not 100% sure. But then I think, maybe hearing someone as wonderful as Nana speak of such might be helpful to someone? I don’t know. I can’t know. If you want to know all of what I’m talking about, if you don’t already, Gates McFadden has a podcast (InvestiGates) and it’s in the part 1 with Nana.

It was a terrible crime, and I don’t think Nana has previously spoken about it in such a public way. In the podcast she speaks about it in detail, so trigger warnings abound. She goes on to speak about her recovery. How well she is now doing, after finding good help in recent years.
Gates and guest Nana Visitor have a lot in common; they're both dancers, choreographers, actors, of course Star Trek regulars as well as mot

If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be.Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.

A good relationship is when two people accept each other’s flaws and forgive each other’s faults and inspire each other’s dreams all throughout the years of being gentle of each other’s fears.
