Like many book lovers out there, my tbr shelf is shamefully full and spreading! I'm coming late to the party on this one but I am now making this my 2015 challenge.

Manga Classics: Pride & Prejudice by Stacy King

This was my first experience with reading a manga; I had never tried it before. The idea of making manga adaptations of classics is genius and I just canât wait to see what other classics will be made in a manga as well! I think that next I want to try Les MisĂ©rables.
It was really good. I will definitely be steering people onto this because it can be used as a companion to the original. Because it is in manga form, I found that it stopped me from getting confused with the story line if I put it down for too long. Once I got into the flow of the manga, I was speeding through this and I finished it in 4 hours tops. I liked that it wasnât a heavy read, it was just the right length and even though it wasnât 100% true to the original text, I still enjoyed it very much.
The art work was amazing; it seemed to catch the charactersâ essence. Mr Collins in all his goofy-ness, Mr Darcy and his brooding, Mr Bingley and his awkward shy-ness and so many others!
This manga adaption of Pride and Prejudice was a success for sure and I really liked it. Austen fans; this is something you'll definitely want to check out.

The Great Escape by Robin Spalding
Walt Before Mickey Disneyâs Early Years, 1919â1928, By Timothy S. Susanin

A good, at times overly-detailed, look of The Disney Brothers work before inventing Mickey Mouse. I am a massive Disney fan; a little bit fan girlish you might even say, but I have to say that I was a little disappointed in this.
Sometimes the author gets a bit long-winded giving family history of all the people involved up to 1928, but a good, detailed look of how Walt Disney started in the animation business shortly after WWI up to the train ride home from New York where he came up with the idea of Mickey Mouse after he just lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
I wanted to learn more about what made Walt, then a very young man, decide to start a studio, decide to keep spending money when there was no income, and not be crushed by the failure of two businesses in about three years. I don't want or need to know the street addresses where he lived and worked, how many blocks those addresses were from other street addresses, or the living arrangements and ethnic background of everyone Walt dealt with in those years.
The page length of 300+ pages is somewhat misleading as the actual story is only about 50% of the book, with the remaining being acknowledgements, glossary, and references throughout the book.
I did however give this a 4 star rating because some of the information was interesting and relevant to what I wanted to know more of.
