Cracked
Smooth and bright, resplendent in my skin, Strategic folds hold promise safe within. A metallic gleam creates a veil of fire, Dimensionless, hopelessly cold and thin.
A secret shell is fractured into shards. From inside out I puncture it with words. An accidental hatchling of deceit Beget from the most virtuous of birds.
Hold me close while I disintegrate. Release the pressure, let my mind deflate. Free my heart to scream and cry and fight. With each layer shed, more lies to excavate.
