i think about sasuke a lot and how people only hate him because they severely misunderstand what itachi had set him up to do. like they think itachi was playing 4d chess, expecting his 7 year old brother to not only understand that he was being forced to kill the uchiha clan but to also get that he left him alive to protect him. itachi himself told sasuke that he needed to follow a path of hate, to kill his best friend and those he cared about so that way he could kill him when he harbored enough hatred. sasuke then proceeded to keep everyone at arms length (at best) so he could protect them. itachi also showed him killing their clan and parents 570,000 times. sasuke’s trauma is actually the most downplayed in the series. i think he should’ve crashed out way earlier. but sasuke is a gentle character, even kishimoto says so. he doesn’t kill just to kill. he kills with purpose. and the only time he didn’t was when sakura went to commit murder suicide and sasuke was having a full mental breakdown after learning that once he achieved his goal of avenging his clan, it was all for nothing because his brother was being forced to do it. he was fully justified. and i will die on this hill.
