Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya, 2wei and 2wei Herz!: I could use some more anime like this.
Let me first be crystal clear about some stuff before I really start. I didn’t read/watched the original Fate/Night series, didn’t play any of the VN nor read the mangas of Fate/kaleid so be aware that I am basing my review on the spin off only and might not go to the whole series perspective.
I got myself watching this because at some point of my highschool life on of my friends came to me and showed me some gifs of the anime. Naturally, after watching about 250 frames of censored clothed well drawn yuri loli action I asked for a source. When the Fate/kaleid came to my ears I really questioned what did yuri lolis had to do with Fate/Night, the only answer was “Well it’s a spin off". It was much later that I came to really watch it and yet I stalled at episode 4 after it came to me that the main heroin almost quit her powers. Like. WTF girl you can really kick as with that stuff, why are you afraid? Much time later came to my knowledge that what I was seeking(mostly more lolis but the yuri loli action was determinant too) was beyond the gates of the first season so I set a mark “I will finish this and enjoy the loli paradise” - as I write this kind of quote I feel this becomes more awkward. One of the things I can confirm is that at the very start you get to know nearly every relevant character except for the most important one.
Now, let’s cut to the chase.
First season is pretty objective as to say. It really doesn’t stop to fanservice or filler and it shows the format of the anime in general, 10 episodes /season…. It’s ok, the episodes flow nicely in a linear way, that is for the whole series, that said if you get a way to play the episodes non-stop it might feel like a movie (ecxept for the opening and ending). You get to know Rin and Ruvia (or Luvia) from the main line with Ruby and Sapphire - The magic sticks. Then comes Illya ( I don’t really need to explain this, her name is on the title) and her same age friends and then the “misterious” second heroin, Miyu (later I will explain the “misterious”). As I said before the first season is straight to the chase, meeting, fight, emotional breakdown, reflection, friendship cannon and it goes on till the defeat the first boss and FINALLY AT THE FUCKING LAST EPISODE FANSERVICE APPEARS FOR 2 AND A HALF SECONDS (When it came up it made my day, like, I reached my goal, like, finally I reached the promised land). To sum up, Illya half-sleep kiss Miyu thinking she was her(Illya’s) Onii-chan (although he doesn’t look like Illya’s blood relative, well whatever at this point)
Second season starts slow, or kinda, Ruby and Sapphire didn’t return to Rin and Rubia (as they should) and because of something Illya and Miyu get to do something but it backfires and something triggers into Illya and in the following second a split twin comes out of the blue, like, WTF another loli YES. The name of the new loli is also Illya that later turns to Kuro. What comes with her? She tries to kill Illya and then becomes the beacon of fanservice in the series. PERFECT. So to episode 5 feelings get real, I held back a bit there because… Well, go there and watch it. About episode 7 or 8 we get to know the new boss Bazzet that really packs a punch but the season ends kinda lame but with fanservice which is great because yuri loli action is the best.
And so third season starts even slower. Rin discovers a new card so they need to find it but guess what? Summer break which leads to first Beach episode and then Summer festival episode. Later stuff gets really serious as they find the real badass card and discover the mistery of Miyu and the conflict goes by 4 -5 episodes -almost half season- and it ends with some feelings storm and clearly with fanservice.
I don’t know if you approve my review on that but I know I’m not the only one moved by yuri loli and yuri loli so yeah… I have to reccommend it , just watch it, it’s amazing… at least good for a weekend.
4th season is to be produced YES
