Areas of Focus: Kitchen magic, hearthcraft, spirit work, death magic
Deities: Hestia , Tyche, Nemesis, Dionysus
Random facts: I am vegan and straightedge. I am a psi-vamp. In my free time, I sing and play tabletop rpgs! I practice baneful magic, so please be aware of that!
tiny money jars worked immediately that it scared me :')
ingredients
bay leaf (abundance)
white rice grains (prosperity)
salt (cleansing, protection)
thyme (purification, protection)
moonstone (manifestation)
white quartz (amplifier, cleansing, protection)
i sealed the top off with a green paper and used green ink to write my sigil (amplification), then tied it off. all the ingredients used are just things lying around the house. one of them is placed on my table where i work, and the other is something i can bring around.
i used a lot of protection symbols because i realized that there are so many ways to earn money if you trade off your peace, energy, and integrity. i could be hired into a good-paying job that takes advantage of me, come across opportunities to steal from others, or get a high-paying client that disrespects me – those are things i didn't want to happen.
cleansing motifs are to clear up the factors that prevent the spell from working as you'd like.
supporting spells. put a bayleaf with a fehu rune written on it in places where you typically put your money in (e.g., wallet, coin purse, coin bank).
testimony. roughly 3 hours later, i slept and woke in the middle of the night to a text from someone who ordered from my small business, who paid immediately :') a few days later, my aunt deposited me some money for allowance about the same amount (thank you, auntie). customers in my business increased but also not as stressful for me. more monetary opportunities came my way, though i did not say "yes" to most of them.
feel free to follow this spell or add your own twist to it ♡
A simple spell for attracting a lil bit of money, no tools required except some loose change! I tend to perform this spell using my coins for the bus ticket while I’m waiting at the stop. It’s discreet, quick and gets me good results!
💰 Take a few coins, a note or what have you. It doesn’t need to be a large number; any small amount will do.
💰 Hold your money (I usually close my hand around it while it’s in my pocket) and rub your fingers across the coins to feel its energy and project your own, focusing on channeling happiness, good luck and positivity into it. Once you feel ready and connected to your money, take a few focused breaths to get in the zone and then mentally say the following to channel your intent.
💰 “These coins shall surely see / that money to keep is drawn to me / with harm to none, my will be done / so mote it be.” You can change the words here as you see fit, this is just the little rhyme I use because it’s effective for me. It can be whispered, said aloud or in your mind - it’s up to you.
💰 The next step is to spend your money! The idea here is that once you spend the money, the intent of your spell will be released into the world along with the money you enchanted. For me, the money I release with the spell also acts as a small thank you in return for the money I’ll soon receive, and to brighten someone’s day with the happiness and positivity I enchanted it with. I like to say a small affirmation when spending the money too, to seal the spell: “These coins I bid farewell / for the sealing of this spell.” Of course, this bit is optional but I find that the rhyme helps me re-affirm and focus my goal. You can also repeat the first part of the spell in the previous step if you want to!
💰 That’s it! Now you simply wait for money to come your way. I often find that it comes in relatively small amounts, just what I need and nothing extravagant. When I receive this money I thank the universe and try to spend it on things that are necessary and unselfish to show my thanks (but that’s just me, what you do with your money is totally up to you!)

🌒 Graveyard Magic: Honoring the Dead with Earth and Intention
A death witch's guide to sacred ground, quiet offerings, and liminal reverence
Graveyards are more than final resting places.
They’re crossroads.
Thresholds.
Sacred spaces where the veil thins and memory lingers.
To the death witch, they’re not places to fear—but to honor.
Working with graves isn’t about chasing chills or performing rituals for aesthetic.
It’s about relationship. Respect. Recognition.
And the understanding that the dead still speak—if you know how to listen.
Let’s walk gently between the stones.
Why Work with Graves?
Graveyards hold layers of spirit: the memory of the land, the echo of mourning, the resting dead, the restless dead, the ancestors (of blood, spirit, and place).
They are portals for those who walk between worlds.
In many traditions, graveyards are considered liminal spaces—neither fully of the living nor the dead. That liminality makes them powerful sites for:
Ancestor work
Necromantic divination
Protection magic
Spirit communication
Banishing or binding rituals
Shadow work and mourning magic
But with that power comes responsibility.
We do not take from the dead.
We offer. We listen. We witness.
We show up as guests, not ghosts.
🌾 Graveyard Etiquette: The Witch’s Code
Before You Enter:
Ask permission. At the gate, pause. Speak to the spirit of the cemetery. Leave a coin or a whisper: “With respect, I ask to enter and do my work in peace.”
Don’t go if you’re sick, intoxicated, or unstable. Liminal work demands clarity and grounding.
Know the laws. Public cemeteries are often open to respectful visitors. Private or rural ones may not be. Always tread ethically.
While You’re There:
Stay on paths where possible. Avoid stepping on graves unless part of a direct offering or ritual.
Speak softly. Move slowly. This is a place of mourning and mystery.
Don’t remove anything without permission from the spirits—and even then, think twice. Dirt, stones, or branches should only be taken with ritual care.
When You Leave:
Leave offerings. Flowers, coins, water, herbs, or quiet songs are appropriate. Trash is not.
Thank the spirits and the land. Offer gratitude as you exit. A whispered “thank you” goes further than you know.
Cleanse after. Brush off energy at the gate, sprinkle salt water on your shoes, or take a full ritual bath at home.
🕯️ Honoring the Dead: Grave Offerings & Rituals
Whether you’re visiting an ancestor’s grave, a forgotten soul’s resting place, or the grave of a known magical worker, your ritual should begin with reverence.
Simple Offerings:
Coins (especially pennies or silver): A gesture of respect and payment.
Water: A universal gift for thirsty spirits.
Fresh herbs or flowers: Rosemary, marigold, lavender, and rose are traditional.
Written prayers, petitions, or thanks: Burn or bury them if appropriate.
Songs or spoken words: Sometimes presence is the offering.
Ritual Acts:
Candle vigil (where allowed): Light and tend a small candle. Use white for peace, black for protection, red for ancestor strength.
Grave sweeping: Clean up the grave or remove trash as a service to the dead.
Ancestor altar creation: Gather dirt (with permission) to add to an altar at home.
Name calling: Speak the name of the dead aloud to awaken memory and connection.
🗝️ A note on grave dirt:
It’s not just dirt—it’s a contract.
Grave dirt holds the energy of the one buried there and can be used in spells for protection, justice, vengeance, or communication.
Never take it without offering and intention.
Label it clearly.
Treat it with the same care you would a potion or spirit vessel.
🌘 Forgotten Graves, Lost Spirits, and Psychopomp Work
Some graves are quiet.
Others are heavy.
Some call out.
As death witches, we may be drawn to the restless or unclaimed—those who passed without rites, remembrance, or closure.
Signs of restless spirits:
Cold spots or strange smells
Repeating dreams after visiting
Feeling watched or tugged at
Knowing things you shouldn’t
These spirits may not want harm—but they do want to be heard.
What You Can Do:
Offer water and light.
Pray, speak their name, or sing to them.
Help carry messages if you're able and willing (with boundaries).
Guide them gently: “It’s okay to rest now. You are remembered.”
Psychopomp Practices (for advanced witches):
Journeying to the Underworld or spirit realms to assist transitions.
Rituals to release the dead from bindings or trauma.
Candle vigils for the unnamed or unclaimed.
If this path calls you, deepen your training. Walk with guides. Protect your energy. Never do this work casually.
🕳️ Graveyard Divination & Spirit Communion
Spirit Boards and Pendulums:
Only use with strong boundaries and warding in place. Not all spirits are helpful.
Automatic Writing or Scrying:
Use a black mirror, bowl of water, or ink. Sit quietly by a favored grave, speak your question aloud, and listen.
Grave Dirt as a Divinatory Tool:
Some witches sprinkle dirt from a grave onto cards or bones to filter messages through a specific spirit’s lens.
Dream Work:
Sleep with a petition or ancestor token under your pillow after graveyard visits. Record your dreams.
🕯️ The Ancestral Path
Not all your ancestor work must be done at a cemetery, but visiting the graves of your blood or chosen lineage can amplify the magic.
What to Bring to Ancestor Graves:
Foods they loved
Music or poems they enjoyed
Photos or keepsakes
Family stories or personal updates
Sit with them. Tell them how you’re doing. Ask for guidance or simply offer your presence.
If You Don’t Know Your Ancestors:
Adopt a spiritual ancestor or cultural lineage with reverence.
Work with archetypal ancestors (e.g., the Witch, the Healer, the Warrior).
Honor the Unknown Dead with candles, prayers, and acts of service.
🔮 Final Thoughts: Walking With the Dead
Graveyard magic isn’t about fear—it’s about remembering.
It’s the witch’s way of saying: I see you. I haven’t forgotten.
To honor the dead is to honor life’s sacred cycle.
To walk among the stones is to step into the echo of every goodbye—and every hello whispered through the veil.
So next time you pass a cemetery gate, tip your hat. Whisper a blessing.
And if you choose to enter, walk softly, speak clearly, and bring something sweet for the spirits.
You are not alone.
🌒
Blessed be the graves.
Blessed be the dead.
Blessed be the witch who listens.
Trying to get back into spellwork again, so I did a little money draw bath ritual last night, including this candle spell. Bay leaves, sugar, cloves, crossroads dirt, and cinnamon. 🖤
Shufflemancy! It's so fun! I actually made a Playlist "deck" of songs for my Shufflemancy, with songs that cover a wide variety of topics and tones, somewhat equivalent to an oracle or tarot deck. When I use it, my interpretation will come from the title of the song, the lyrics, the actual instrumentation or melody, or even the artist, or a combination of multiple factors. It's a really fun and accessible way to divine!
could you perhaps suggest any rituals for a new home?
For a new home, I think it's important to cleanse the space (each room, if possible) as thoroughly as you can, first and foremost.
I would then take steps to protect the home and any outside space you have, and follow that up with magics that promote a peaceful and warm space in which you can be happy, comfortable, and safe.
I've been thinking a lot on curses, and particularly their connection to punitive justice. I saw someone bragging on tumblr how one of their curses made someone homeless. and I cannot see for the life of me how that is justified in any sense or manner; considering how awful our capitalistic society is to the homeless. Even if this is a dangerous person who we think "Deserves it", this puts this person now in proximity to other homeless people, who are extremely vulnerable as a population. This person is now going to suffer cold, hunger, heat, and gain irrepairable trauma. And what did this person say? "My curses work damn well!" Gloated over it. Nobody deserves to be homeless, and I'm not going to do anything intentional to promote the evils of our capitalistic society.
as witches, sorcerers, and devotees, we should be interrogating how we use our magic. I've come to believe to restrain it: if I'm cursing because someone is transphobic, I want them to feel guilt and become a better person. Not just pain for the sake of making myself feel better, no, I want this world to be a better place. Don't play cop with curses. This limit prevents me from doing more harm than deserved. Because if it was my magic that made someone homeless, I'd say I was actually the evil person in that case.
Violence is sometimes necessary, but we must be wise in violence.
Connected: In the woods, by my altar, or when burying/processing roadkill in my garden (vulture culture/bone collecting is as much of my spiritual path as it is my hobby).
Disconnected: Having no alone time, as most of my craft is done alone.
It’s not just some random day, tomorrow is the zenith of the sun when we will experience the longest day (and shortest night) here in the Northern hemisphere. It is also the start of Cancer season and Summer.
Sure, you can celebrate but it is also a potent day for all types of solar magic.
Try catching a bit of the Sun now to save up for a dreary February day, and thank me later.
- is it okay if i get things from amazon for my practice/worship?
because although i want to thrift i can’t atm because of distance
Hello! I think it’s okay to do whatever is affordable and accessible to you. I personally try to buy locally or from smaller businesses when I can but I understand that is a privilege. All that being said, I rarely buy anything for my worship to Hestia—it’s mostly items found around my house, in the natural world or handcrafted!
Altar:
Offering bowl filled with spices and herbs (I like cinnamon, cloves, ginger and sage)
Bowl can also include rocks/crystals (I recently included pebbles my preschoolers lovingly gave to me) or beads/trinkets/whatever.
A cup of water
A cup of tea or coffee
Small candles or scented wax
Dried or fresh flowers
Printed Hestia art (example)
Drawn Hestia sigils (x) (x) (x) (x)
Written prayers or poetry
Handmade items
Bedridden Hestia altar
Flameless hearths and devotions
Altar jar
Devotional acts:
Hestia small devotional acts
Bedridden devotions to Hestia
Simple ways to honor Hestia
Things I buy/have bought:
Wax melter
Scented wax (vanilla, cinnamon, herbs)
Beeswax candles
Scented soap
Prayer cards (x) (x)
I love supporting local artists, buying local honey, baked goods etc. as a devotional act!
I feel like Hestia is all about making your life and home comfortable so buying things that do that often double as something that could be used in worship or as an offering to her.
Ultimately do whatever feels best for you and your practice, I definitely bought more stuff when I was newer to worshipping and have now switched to mostly gathering and crafting what I need. I hope this helps! ❤️
Ideas for Hestia devotees/worshippers who are unable to use a fireplace or flames in their worship. Welcome for all who find this helpful!
Using flames safely and/or discreetly:
(For the occasional need)
Use a tea light or lighter outside; on a fire-safe surface such as concrete or gravel.
Burn objects over your sink or a bowl of water.
Outdoor fire pits or grills.
Creating your hearth:
Your hearth should feel like a central, focused place that represents your home. Someplace where you feel calm and safe. Traditionally, this was often in the kitchen; but it can be anywhere in your home. It can also be in multiple places, or small and contained.
My shelf altar. I keep it clean and tidy. It contains items that remind me of home, and offerings to Hestia. It represents hearth and home, and is a space I can visit when I wish to feel connected to her.
My dedication wall. I used to have a wall with a dried marigold garland, soothing poetry, devotional poetry, artwork and prayers on it. This is an excellent way to have a discreet (if you so choose) dedicated space that doesn’t take up much surface area.
My stovetop. Each time I put the kettle on for tea, I feel connected to Hestia. I offer the first sip to her. I simmer pots of water with herbs, spices or other scented things (such as orange peels) to spread a beautiful aroma around my home.
Don’t have a stove? An electric kettle and microwave will do!
My oven. Each time I bake (both the preparation and the baking itself) I feel connected to her and give a portion as an offering.
My woodstove or outdoor firepit. It is worth noting that because I have these things (and use my woodstove as a primary heating source) I do often use these as my hearth and burn offerings here.
Flame and candle alternatives:
What feels right to you? What matches the energy/warmth of fire and flame?
Electric candles, especially ones that flicker and have warmer colors.
Electric tealights in candle holders.
Dollhouse fireplace
Solar charged lanterns
Fairy lights in a jar
Himalayan salt lamp
Wax or oil warmers (with heat bulbs).
Electric fireplace
Flame ambiance videos
Scents:
For me, certain smells embody home. And this is wonderful, because we can control them–even without candles or incense!
