I've had this doodle since the end of season 6 and only now finished it lol.

I'm glad to have had such an attachment to Viren of all characters in this amazing show. What started as an infatuation for Aaravos and dozens of rewatching his scenes throughout s1 and s2 turned into a growing interest towards the middle aged guy that just yelled at his own reflection. Then, I find myself answering for why I find Viren interesting much less straightforward (in a good way) than any other character. His arc was everything I've wanted it to be and I couldn't have asked for a better way for him to go, all things considered. Loving this character was a wild ride tho, being my first fav character who's not a protagonist. Loving Viren allowed me to look inward a lot and engage in some really difficult conversations (from my days of being active on reddit). And I've gotten to know a bunch of great people through our shared love for this disaster of a man.

Viren's truly gone in the TDP universe, but he lives on in my mind, in the fanfics I read or the AUs I imagine in my head bc I'm shit at writing. I'll miss seeing him in TDP, I'll miss making fun of him and generally using him like a punching bag when things were much less high stakes. I'll miss the content of him we'd get every now and then. I'll miss him dearly. Am I still delusional and holding onto hope that we'll get a prequel of some kind about his life growing up? Yeap :D Is that even anywhere near possible? I'm sure not lol

I'll continue to doodle him. I'd hate to stop seeing him and I'll always carry him, if not on paper/drawing screen, then in my heart.

Soren still being angry at Lissa for leaving definitely healed something in my "grew up with only one parent" soul. I love that she didn't actually show up, I love that Soren is still angry at her, I love that Claudia was so fast to pick up on the ruse. Just because one toxic parent died, doesn't mean the other one is magically absolved of the neglect and can waltz back in to undo all the pain.

If my absent bio-father showed up tomorrow saying he regrets leaving, I'd shove my foot so far up his coward ass that he'd taste flip-flop foam for the rest of his life.

So yeah. Soren's anger made me happy. Very relatable. Claudia's too, but I love that Soren still got to express his anger as a member of "team good guy."

Honestly though, it's feeling like if Claudia DID manage to find Viren in the Inbetween, ain't no way he's letting her bring him back to life again. Like "Sweetie. No. I'm done, my mind is clear, I'm sorry for how I treated our family, I love you (moves on)"
