I hope you still hold hands and cuddle. I hope you both still wake up smiling. I hope you still laugh and have fun with each other, no matter where you are. I hope you still remember when you first met and the way you looked at each other and the way your hearts beated as you explored each other. Mind. Body. And then your souls. Finding a sanctuary in each other’s soul and feeling a familiarity within, as if no introduction was needed. As if you both had met long ago. I hope you still remember the feeling you had when you realized you had fallen in love, when your souls recognized each other. I hope you remember the long talks you had over the phone or in the car at night or lying next to each other as you looked up at the sky. I hope you remember the butterflies and sparks and fireworks you felt from the pit of your stomach vibrating to the place where your heart lies and bursting through the seams of your body. I hope you are still vulnerable with each other and still share your dreams with each other and your hopes and all the parts of yourself that you are scared for the rest of the world to see. And I hope you both truly listen and make the other feel seen and heard and show them that they have nothing to hide from the world, show them that they are enough just as they are and always will be. I hope you are still grateful for each other and I hope through the ups and downs of life, you are there for each other. I hope you still feel your love, in every second, in every moment, in eternity.
