Thought this needed to be said.
Just because I enjoy TLOU games does NOT mean I support Neil Druckmann. He is a Zionist and has said himself that the second game is a supposed to represent the Israeli-Palestinian “conflict” (which is a whole other can of worms you can read about here).
It’s so weird to me to see people buying the remastered version. Posting screenshots of Ellie in the new outfits on Pinterest, but then also have “Free Palestine!” in their bios and the Palestinian flag in their names. Like being willfully ignorant about what Druckmann has said and done so they can thirst over a fake person because now they’re wearing a black t-shirt!
I have seen so many videos these past weeks of children recounting how they lost their fucking parents, people grieving over their ash and dust-covered loved ones, photos of entire families who have been wiped from the Earth for simply being Palestinian. It boggles me how they’re so quick to forget that thousands of people are dying because they want to drink Starbucks everyday, buy a bunch of freaking reusable cups, see an animated person wear an outfit, all while choosing to be blind to how these corporations are actively supporting a genocide.
It took me a long time to get out of my little bubble of ignorance and for that, I’m sorry. But there is no way now, as a person that is fully aware of the tragedy that is happening at this very moment, I can sit still and twiddle my thumbs. So it’s pretty sickening to see others do just that.
