quick intro post
although this blog is not nsfw, i am in my 20s and i would prefer if minors did not follow me. interacting with my posts is still fine.
i like to "time travel" on my dash and reblog posts that were made years ago, so if i reblog a really old post of yours then that's probably why. i promise i'm not actively prowling your blog for ancient posts. i also use search operators to find old posts in tags.
some positions under the cut:
i've been in fandom spaces since the 2000s and i think ship discourse is stupid. it waters down the definition of serious real-life issues. i am not a "darkshipper", but if you consider yourself an "anti" then we might not see eye to eye. i think that a lot of self-identified "proshippers" who make it their entire personality can be pretty annoying, too. i usually won't block people either side unless it gets to be too much. writing about or enjoying taboo topics in fiction ≠ supporting those things in real life.
as someone who's been on tumblr for over a decade, i've seen my fair share of trans/queer discourse. i think a lot of is has been astroturfed and psyop'ed by terfs and other bad actors to purposely pit trans/queer people against each other. i know this because i used to be a transmed many years ago and the same shit happened there. transmisogyny, anti-transmasculinity, exorsexism, and intersexism are all real issues that deserved to be talked about. in both the transmisogyny and transandrophobia tags, people have a tendency to be reactionary and blame the "other side" rather than transphobes for their oppression, instead of having serious discussion about the issues they face. "theyfab" is an exorsexist and misogynistic slur that's basically the same as "transtrender". "baeddel" is a reactionary insult when used against someone who does not self-identify with that term. i support contradictory labels. i am not a "radqueer". i am anti-transmed. tumblr moderation is transmisogynistic and disproportionately bans trans women for actions that other accounts would not be banned for.
i am a leftist, specifically marxist-leninist lea(r)ning. "tankie" is a reactionary term designed to shut down conversation rather than facilitate it. although "atrocities" under communism are very often exaggerated for the sake of propaganda, i do not blindly support every single regime that has ever been communist or anti-usa. (the russian federation, for example, is not the same as the ussr and should not be treated as such.) i think that leftist infighting is not only unproductive, but actively harmful to the cause of uniting the working class.
i am antizionist and believe in a free palestine, as well as freedom for other nations suffering under imperialism. the state of israel acts as an extension of american brutalization of the middle east. zionism is an islamophobic and ethnosupremacist ideology, and the state of israel is an apartheid state. being antizionist does not, however, give anyone to be antisemitic or spread hatred of jews as a people. judaism has existed thousands of years before zionism and the state of israel, and it can thrive without it.
do not come into my inbox trying to "debate" me on any of these topics. i do not care or have the time for these types of unsolicited messages. if you want to message me about literally anything else, you are more than welcome to do so!
