First Post!

I deleted my old tumblr because... man idk why it was covid-times and the prefrontal cortex was not in the room with us!! Anyways, I was reminded by my lovely friend @repecca that tumblr exists, and that some of my work has been going around on here, so I decided to post some of my work up officially! Starting off with my most notable (?) work to date, here's my LOTR: The Middle Kingdom Project. Now, it's been over a year since I posted this, and at the time I was... really searchingfor myself artistically, and I decided to go all in on something that I'd been ruminating on for a long time.

So, hello, again. I'm Leia. I do visual development/BG design, and I'm also a writer of things. I love fantasy and transformative work. It's nice to meet you.

medieval high fantasy has never appealed to me personally, but your odds of getting me invested are so much greater if you pick a specific time and place to base it on.

like, it’s one thing to be medieval fantasy. it’s another to be early 1200s frisian fantasy.

Why is it everyone that sets out to rip off the Souls series fails to include any of the goofiness? Grim as the world of Dark Souls is, it can also at times be completely ridiculous. It's got mimic chests that attack you with fucking Street Fighter hurricane kicks and giant bulging bobble eyed basilisks and whatever the hell Frampt and Kaathe are supposed to be. There's a reason these games are such a rich goldmine of memes.

Even in a dead world devoid of hope there is silliness and whimsy.

Visitor from far away seas Barreleye Ashore wearing armor fashioned after ancient god-like being. A rather unpleasant person, not interested in affairs of "the surface" (as she calls it), which she's forced to wander for the foreseeable future. Her heart longs for water's depths.

Small design note: the ancient god-like being is a Pteraspis. Ashorian gods tend to look like prehistoric fish.

Grand Solgot and two unique specimens from his large menagerie. Two hybrids, both results of hybridization between polar broadheads and spotted reavers. while the practice is looked down upon, they're cared for very well. these hybrids are bred both for their beautiful golden spotted coats, but also due to how specialized broadheads are. the southern riverlands are no place for a cold dwelling species, so the broadhead reaver was created. these do not occur in the wild, and only a few exist in captivity.
