used to live in a college town that was huge on sports. 80% of small talk was sportsball and so i developed an Evil Habit: whenever the conversation inevitably turned to the upcoming Big Game i would act excited and then confused. I would earnestly insist they had the details wrong. "the game next Saturday? don't you mean the Thursday after? playing against the [predator species]? no we're playing against the [other predator species]." And so on. i would draw this argument out for as long as feasibly possible, until eventually someone would pull out their phone to prove to me my wrongness. At which point I would squint exaggeratedly at the screen, slap my forehead in an eureka moment, and exclaim "oh you meant the MEN'S team!!! are they doing a game? that's nice."

has anyone noticed that after the porn ban of 2018 tumblr was essentially killed from the mainstream and everyone flocked to other social media sites like twitter and meta. then those sites got enshittified to where twitter became Nazi Central and meta sites had an entire meme around getting “zucced” aka mark zuckerberg himself would ban you for saying a no-no word like fuck. and then the mainstream shifted to tiktok where infamous toddlerspeak sentences like “he got unalived by a pew pew” were born because if you once again say a no-no word like kill or gun or any other word that isn’t corporate i mean kid friendly then the algorithm will bury your post into the ground. and somehow we’ve come full circle and tumblr is now the most bearable social media site because although we can’t have female presenting nipples we can at least talk to each other like adults. has anyone noticed that at all or is it just me and the flaming skull

I don't ship Grace and Simon but the shippers did make me speculate on how it would work.

I don't think Simon is some natural aggressive alpha top (I can only see him as a switch) but he wants to survive more than anything and he spent years in a hardcore prison where he probably learned some unhealthy things about sex between men. So what does Grace (whom I can only see as a demisexual switch) who clearly doesn't care about power dynamics and masculinity do when a man like that is dumped into his habitat?

I imagine it would be an extremely slow burn where it takes a lot longer for Grace to show interest in Simon than Simon expected, and Simon has to learn that sex between men doesn’t have to be transactional and being guarded and aggressive won't do him any good on Erid.
