Hi.
I finished my Sunset Highway. I wear it everyday. I can’t believe how much I love this sweater.

Finding Nemo came out in 2003 and I remembered that Crush the sea turtle said he was 150 years old. Which means he was born in 1853.
Curious I went and researched events that happened that year to find some of these cool facts:
The start of the Crimean War.
Efforts to end Japan's isolationist policies by Commodore Matthew Perry.
Vaccination act which made the smallpox vaccine mandatory.
Charles Dickens book "The Bleak house" was published.
The first woman was ordained as a minister in the United States.
There are loads of other facts that can be looked up, but I thought I would share.
EDIT: THIS DRAWING WAS DONE WITH THE IDEA OF UPLIFTING TRANS AND INTERSEX WOMEN ESPECIALLY. LEARN KINDNESS OR DIE.
lil doodle from the other day born out of an overwhelming annoyance that for some reason body hair is associated with masculinity despite Everyone Having It. so why not draw a cute hairy girl about it
[image description: a drawing of a tan-skinned woman with brown and blond dyed hair pulled into a ponytail and copious body hair and stubble. she is smiling and doing a peace sign gesture with her hand. next to her is text saying "body hair has no gender!" end id]
My mind set right now 😴
In order to focus on reading and retaining anything. I will have to have music or an audiobook that I've listened to a thousand times playing through my headphones.
I find switching between reading and listening helps to prevent my brain from getting bored with either task. As a result I end up learning and remembering things and feeling pleased that I've done it.
I find reading in complete silence is more distracting and causes me to stress over how quiet it is and I don't retain any information.
“I’m not open with many people. I’m usually very quiet and I don’t really like attention. So if I like you enough to show you the real me, you must be very special.”

“You can only give your heart away once - after that, you give as much as you have left…”
— John Geddes
This hit harder than I realised.
Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someone’s life? A coworker can be like “I’ve missed seeing you” and I’m just like “???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? I affect things??? W h a t ? ? ?”

I'm still sane... Ish
Today a lady came to returns and needed a refund. Okay no problem... Except she was unable to provide evidence of payment via her apple pay. So I offer to place the amount onto a credit note she can spend in store in an instant. She starts getting huffy and upset that I won't respect the 'principle' of her getting her money back I'm there thinking wtf do you mean by that.
So anyway I offer a credit note because that's my only option, shes refusing the credit note and I say that unfortunately unless she's able to prove the card registered on her apple pay is the same that's on the reciept as her device number I can't proceed.
I call my manager and they come over (by this point I've been dealing with her for about 40 minutes and I'm loosing my cool)
She starts going off at them that I don't know how to do my job and that she spends enough in our store that she feels she doesn't deserve to be treated this way. Manager defends me, tells me that we legally can't proceed until we see proof and if they want to come in another day once they have proof, we can do something then. We even offer to put the amount onto a refund card and then she can come back in later and we can transfer it to her apple pay. But no she doesn't want to be 'forced' to spend money on our store. So my manager takes her phone, searches through her device and is able to find the evidence I need to see to verify the refund. Something she could have done.
So I process the refund within seconds. However... Before leaving she goes she says "great now I can go back in and do some shopping"
I literally felt like something snapped in my brain. See if she had agreed to a credit note in the first place, she could have been gone in seconds, with money on a card she could have used towards her purchases in store.
But no.... INSTEAD she decided to waste my time throwing insults and criticism at me because she decided to be petty and insist her refund be put back onto her apple pay which won't even show up back into her account until about a week.
