Countdown to the Massachusetts Bar Exam: 42 Days.
Some break room studying for your feed. I’ve only been on the schedule at work for like ten hours a week the last few weeks, which has been a huge relief. Need the pocket money, but can’t work all that much with the studying schedule I have.
Today’s schedule:
Family Law outline
Family Law practice essay
Criminal Law refresher
Criminal Law practice multiple choice and explainer videos
“men dont like that. its such a turn off” good . turn off . where is ur off button . shut up . please stop making noise

Using this time to ground myself... Literally ground myself because I bought a lap desk and it’s the perfect height to sit at on the floor.
The first week of 2L... That was a lot. Upside: I am happy about my choice of school for the first time. Really excited about my Moot Court team and problem.
I’ve struggled a lot over the past year with feelings of mediocrity and failure. I’m trying my best to fight them and stay positive. It’s hard because I can’t identify a point where I will be “enough” for myself. I feel like I’m always going to be competing with my dad and the partners that I know at his firm when I know they aren’t trying to compete with me.
It’s tough sometimes, you know?

today started out well and then got really shitty and now i’m just dealing with feelings of self hatred and hopelessness oops
There’s a few people in the notes saying “but people used to come to class in pajamas” and yes that’s true but like, not everyone feels comfortable doing that and there’s a lot of social pressure involved there.
Also something not mentioned in this tweet that I think is equally important: poor and rural students may not have the bandwidth to have their camera on all the time. My rural internet connection has absolutely ABYSMAL upload speeds, so while I can stream video coming in from someone else (as long as nobody else in the house is doing the same or downloading a large file or anything), I cannot actually do my own streaming because the connection chokes. I would much rather be able to, you know, just focus on the class material and not be distracted by making sure my camera isn’t blinking out every 30 seconds. One of these things is far more important to my education than the other.
god this is a big ask but I really wish there were like….. a site where you could plug in your state/district/whatever and tick some boxes on issues you prioritize and then the site would give you a rundown of the potential candidates in your area and where they stand on those issues in like….. clean simple bullet points. gimme the cliffnotes, I literally do not have the time or energy to comb through god knows how many articles and shit to figure out who to support, just tell me what their stance is on X, Y, and Z, and that’s gonna have to be enough.
There’s BallotReady!
It goes through who’s on your ballot and explains things like that based on your address.
this is really great. it gives you bullet points on what each candidate has said and done on each issue.
very illuminating, frankly, seeing the candidate’s own words and actions. for instance, under ‘defense/veterans’ the republican candidates almost always say something about a well-funded military, and the democrats almost always say something about getting veterans the medical care they need. makes it pretty obvious that republicans don’t care about soldiers once they’re done with them.
go vote kids, no excuses
If your ballot info isn’t ready yet, put in your email address so you get notified and don’t miss it when the info goes live!

I feel that in the studyblr community nobody actively talks about the study environment some of us have, so shoutout to those students that:
• live with their parents (not everyone goes to college/uni where they have dorms, and even then, not everyone can afford it)
• have to deal with parents/family members constantly arguing in the background
• work / have to worry heavily about just getting by (paying rent, groceries, medication)
• need loud music to study and drown outside noises
• can not "study prettily" at coffee shops
• take care of other family members, and thus have to be ready to drop whaterever they are doing to assist them at any time
• can not concentrate or get "in the zone" no matter what they do
• do not have a personal computer/tablet
• do not have a room of their own
• are neurodivergent and the advice of most study masterpost/tips is not applicable.
You are valid, you are seen, you are not alone. If nobody has told you already: if you are trying the best you can then the best you can is good enough.
sincerely, a student who needed to hear this.
