Witch Tip
Put a pair of glasses under the sun, surrounded by clear quartz or citrine, to enchant them with the powers of Apollo, god of truth, so you can see through peopleâs bull shit

Beginner Witchery
Disclaimer: Witchcraft is NOT a religion! It is a practice, or skill. Anyone of ANY religion can be a witch!
There are a few steps to becoming a witch, and the first is taking an interest, which you obviously have and its led you to my post. Many things lead people to magic! Maybe youâve always felt a strong connection with Mother Earth and her lovely inhabitants, or maybe your friend is a witch and recently has been open about it with you. The second step is exploring the craft, Reading witchy books and blogs, and gathering information. The final steps are to start calling yourself a witch and start practicing witchcraft. Those steps are interchangeable, it doesnât matter what comes first.
When it comes to learning more about witchcraft, a lot of baby witches ask me the million dollar questionâŠÂ âWhat do I study first?â
Theres no exact order you need to follow. Iâd advise you to be respectful to magick, to the elements and to mother earth. Start being more aware of all she gives us, if you arenât already.
Here are some things you can do/look into to get yourself started:
Witchblr. DONâT UNDERESTIMATE WITCHBLR. There is so much information on witchblr, its really amazing.Â
History of witchcraft. Studying the roots of the craft is so interesting to do! Its really cool to hear the origins of everything we do.
Crystals. Crystals are my FAVORITE, my collection is always growing and i pick specific ones to carry based on what i need the day of.
Divination Methods. There are several ways to divine, and its really nice to get some insight from your spirit guide/the universe. Studying the origins of these methods is also really interesting.
Herbs. Herbs are awesome and you can use them for everything, be it magick or mundane. They are great for using in spell jars, teas, baths and etc.
Dreams. Study what they mean, why theyâre important and how you can benefit from listening in to the deeper messages they hold.
Keep a dream journal! Start recording everything you can remember as soon as you wake up.
Grounding. I think everyone should ground themselves at least once a day, it makes you feel so balanced.
Celestial Bodies. Each planet has a different energy, and you can use these energies potentially.
THE MOON. The moon has so much energy its so powerful and i love feeling it shine on my skin. Its phases have significant effects on us and on our spellwork.
The elements. Each element brings a different energy, and when you cast circles you typically call on each element. its nice to know about these energies and find which ones you click with the most.
Altar Tools.Â
Deities. Study the different pantheons, see if one appeals to you. if not, its ok, not everyone works with them.
Meditate. Get in tune with yourself. Thats the best thing you can do while on this spiritual journey.
Sigils.
Talismans.
Different Alphabets
Types of spells
Types of magick
Famous witches.
A few more tips from me:
Keep journals. yes. plural. one for dreams, one for your general day to day feelings and to record your growth spiritually, one for the crystals and herbs you collect (or one for each), one for your studies. You CANNOT record too much! Take notes on everything.
never do anything you donât feel comfortable with.
Never rush ahead of yourself. Take your time with learning about the craft, you will thank yourself in the future.
Use what you have! You donât need supplies to be a witch or have a successful spell. Its all mental and about your flow of energy. you just need YOU.
your craft is your own, do not feel pressured to be more like witches you admire, do whatever feels right to you.
unless you follow a specific tradition, there are no rules in witchcraft. There is a lot more freedom in witchcraft than you may realize.
DOnât ever shame other witches. Best example: Some witches curse, some donât.Â
i know i said this earlier, but be respectful. always remember to thank mother earth for everything she supplies us with.
Always say goodbye to any entities you call into your circle.
NEVER be scared of spirits. they are all around us, all the time, they only make themselves known sometimes. fear can feed them and help them grow in strength.
donât worry about a title, you donât need to scramble to find our what kind of witch you are. you will just know eventually based on what you do most in your practice, it will take some time.
MY ASKS ARE OPEN, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, ASK AND I WILL ANSWER WITHIN 2-4 DAYS. you can also send me a message.
Please add to this so any baby witches can see what you have to say and be informed!! You can also submit a post to my blog.
I will add to this post in the future, i hope it was helpful.
Blessed be!

My Current Crystal Collection
Hello there!
Right off the bat, Iâd like to clarify that, despite my url, I do not follow the Wicca religion (yet). I was beginning to experiment with different spiritual experiences and lifestyles when I found Wicca and almost immediately fell in love with the concepts it holds. However, just as with any major life decision, Iâm taking some time to consider my options carefully before taking a dive into anything. That doesnât mean I donât get to make a Tumblr blog, though!
This is my first post on this blog so I thought how better to start it than with some photos of the crystals currently in my possession. I purchased these with the intention of bringing their healing properties into my life before discovering Wicca, so the fact that this is also a part of that lifestyle was very interesting to me.
Anyway, without further ado, here is my current collection... though it and they be but little, it is... gorgeous and I definitely want some more.
1. Here is the first crystal I ever laid eyes upon and wanted immediately: Opalite.
Opalite is supposed to attract angels, relax oneself, and enhance psychic abilities (among other things)... though I mostly bought it because it is so darn beautiful. The photo doesnât really do it justice. Also, as soon as I read that it attracts angels (as said the little sign in the shop), I immediately thought of my grandmother, may she rest in peace, which made it difficult not to pick up one of these beauties.
2. This second crystal is another that I fell in love with on sight: Smoky Quartz.
This stone is apparently one of the best for balancing and grounding, and has detoxifying effects. It too is stunning, and I felt drawn to it in the shop.
3. Another crystal that I decided to buy was Amethyst.
I actually keep my Amethyst in a small cage and hanging near my window during the night (as pictured above but in the daytime, so you can see it) because I first read that it can sober oneâs mind and protect one from poison, which I took metaphorically seeing as there is very little chance of myself being poisoned. In my mind, and probably only in mine, the act of hanging it in the window prevents any negative energies (or âpoisonsâ from entering my bedroom through the window and from anyone who passes by, and the cage then traps it so that it cannot escape from the crystal and still pass into my room, therefore allowing me peaceful dreams. I will clear this crystal more often than the others for this reason.
4. And finally (I did tell you this collection, and not just the crystals themselves, is small), the last that I picked: Chrysoprase.
The name of the crystal (which I cannot pronounce for the life of me) is what sparked my interest, but after seeing this particular stone standing amidst its other, blander counterparts, I couldnât resist. Being the smallest of the group, I originally planned to have this crystal inside of the cage and hanging in my room (seeing as it has anti-depressant qualities) but when I did, it didnât seem right in some way. It looked too small in the cage, I think, like it was being swallowed. Whatever it was, I didnât like it much and decided against it. Now it sits on my semi-made altar (which I am hoping to build the night of the new moon, representing new beginnings and a chance to charge my crystals before they are placed on it) with my others.
And thatâs it. No, I donât have many. Yes, I will be getting more. Unfortunately, these were all I could afford at the time and the same goes for a little while unless I magically find a small fortune in my bank account (hereâs hoping thatâll happen! đ). I also hope to get some larger crystals seeing as all of these are pretty small.
If anyone was wondering where I got these, theyâre from a shop in Galveston, Texas called âThe Witcheryâ. If youâre ever in the area, I would highly recommend visiting them, even if just for a browse.
Let me know what you think of my crystals, if you want to. And follow my blog to continue to witness my spiritual journey as I discover myself and, perhaps, a whole new way of seeing the world.
