Cowboys are witches and horses are their familiars
guns are their wands and they only know one spell (bullet)
Rootin’, tootin’, toil n’ shootin’
Fire burn and cowboy bootin’
Eye of newt and spicy beans,
Toe of frog and denim jeans,
Whiskey, grits, n’ demon spittle
tossed into my iron griddle
With the tannin’ of our hides,
Somethin’ wicked this way rides
Not that anyone asked for this but
everyone asked for it they just didn’t know they did
just wanted to share this baby platypus
Okay, this is a pet peeve of mine so I’m going to apologize first because I AM GOING TO GO OFF.
This is not a baby platypus. Baby platypus looks like this:

What we have here is a very cute and nicely done art doll made by a russian artist:
As you can see, the first image in this post has misteriously lost the artist’s watermarks. It happens a lot.
I can’t remember how many times I’ve had to search for the source of these “animal baby pics” and post the correct version because the harm it does has layers. No, that baby animal don’t look like that, it’s misinformation even if the person sharing it has no ill intentions and believes it was the real deal. And there’s an artist going uncredited and losing business because pics of their work are being circulated as “the real thing”. Which they are not. Definitively not. Very cute, but not accurate.
By the way, the artist behind this platypus doll has a working etsy. Her name is Yulia Leonovich and she makes needle felt animal toys. It took me less than five minutes to find this information by doing an image search on google.
I will reblog this every time.
Literally this.

Living Alone by Yaoyao Ma Van As.
Alone is not the same as lonely.
I like to believe Medusa would do that in modern days… 🤷♀️ How do you imagine Ancient Creatures/Gods living in 2019?

Ruby Bridges was the first black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis in 1960.
This movie made me cry, I was so heart broken by how Ruby Bridges was treated! She was only 6, but was so strong. She is a very brave girl and she did not care what the white folks called her.
People are simply disgusting to minimize people by skin color!
Ruby you might not think you’re a hero… But to other people you are! You are A HERO and you are A PERSON WHO MADE AMERICA CHANGE!
this is white culture, this is their history, this is their legacy…being enraged at a damn baby just because she’s black.
she’s still alive by the way
Ruby Bridges in 2010
“As Bridges describes it, “Driving up I could see the crowd, but living in New Orleans, I actually thought it was Mardi Gras. There was a large crowd of people outside of the school. They were throwing things and shouting, and that sort of goes on in New Orleans at Mardi Gras.“ Former United States Deputy Marshal Charles Burks later recalled, “She showed a lot of courage. She never cried. She didn’t whimper. She just marched along like a little soldier, and we’re all very very proud of her.“
U.S. Marshals escorted Bridges to and from school
As soon as Bridges entered the school, white parents pulled their own children out; all the teachers refused to teach while a black child was enrolled. Only one person agreed to teach Ruby and that was Barbara Henry, from Boston, Massachusetts, and for over a year Henry taught her alone, “as if she were teaching a whole class.”
Every morning, as Bridges walked to school, one woman would threaten to poison her; because of this, the U.S. Marshals dispatched by President Eisenhower, who were overseeing her safety, allowed Ruby to eat only the food that she brought from home.
Another woman at the school put a black baby doll in a wooden coffin and protested with it outside the school, a sight that Bridges Hall has said “scared me more than the nasty things people screamed at us.” At her mother’s suggestion, Bridges began to pray on the way to school, which she found provided protection from the comments yelled at her on the daily walks.”

THIS SHIT WAS ONLY 58 YEARS AGO. PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS RACIST TERRORISM AND ACTS LIKE IT ARE STILL ALIVE, AND THEIR KIDS ARE IN THEIR 40′S AND 50′S.
DON’T LET RACISM APOLOGISTS GET AWAY WITH “WHY ARE YOU LIVING IN THE PAST,” BULLSHIT ARGUMENTS. WE ARE LITERALLY STILL DEALING WITH THE FAMILIES THAT FORMED HATE MOBS OVER BLACK CHILDREN ATTENDING SCHOOL WITH WHITE KIDS.
This was her then:
This is literally how she looks in 2017.
She’s literally not even old.
Notice how Shan Yu doesn’t even question it or make a comment about “BUT YOU’RE A GIRL” he just instantly goes into a “I’LL TEACH YOU TO KILL MY MEN AND STEAL MY VICTORY” rage and I think about this a lot sometimes
((Well that might have to do with the fact that he’s a Hun. Women among the Huns had higher status than their Chinese counterparts and even some of their own men. Women were free to hunt and fight along side of the men, could choose their own husbands and divorce him if she choose to. There were even records of clans being led by women leaders. So for Shan Yu Mulan is just another soldier))
thank you, history side of tumblr.
He also might not have been able to see very well, due to whatever horrible disease has taken hold in his eyeballs.
Pretty serious Wilson’s Disease judging by the copper buildup in in irises, and apparent melanocytosis localized to his sclera.
Thank you medical side of tumblr

this is entirely accurate actually
36 Jewish protesters arrested at ICE detention center in New Jersey - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
“The arrest on Sunday afternoon happened at the end of the protest outside of the Elizabeth Contract Detention Facility, organized by a new Jewish group called Never Again Action. Hundreds of Jews, mostly young people, attended the protest. Many of Never Again Action’s leaders are also involved with IfNotNow, a millennial Jewish group that opposes Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.”

fun funeral facts
embalming, the process of chemically preserving a corpse, is typically not required by law. unless you need to transport the body long-distance or postpone the burial, it’s 100% a vanity thing.
a body still rots in air-tight conditions. so “protective” or “sealed” caskets are basically a scam, and anything fancy like metal is a waste of money.
want a beautiful casket for a viewing, but think burning or burying an expensive piece of hardwood is a waste of money and trees? rentals exist.
you don’t need a coffin for cremation. the minimum requirement is that the body be in a “cremation container,” which is a simple cardboard box.
home funerals are an option. you don’t need to hand the body over to a funeral home, and you can keep their involvement to a minimum.
natural burial sites exist. you can have your unembalmed body straight up thrown in the dirt to be tree food, if you want.
there are a lot of funeral homes that will prey on your ignorance and vulnerability in order to get as much money out of you as possible. they may imply optional certain services are legally mandatory, steer you away from cheaper options, charge additional costs for what’s supposed to be all-inclusive services, etc.
one person’s death is another person’s profit. know your rights, do your research, and apply the same scrutiny you would to any other business.
Also, plan ahead and do as much of the business side of things and general preparation as you can yourself ahead of time.
Put your wishes in writing, and make that writing easy to find for those who are dealing with things after you’ve died. Give copies to anyone and everyone who might possibly end up being involved. Include names and contact information, so all of these people can find each other easily instead of doing random internet searches.
And *date* the copies, so if your wishes change, everyone knows which is the most recent statement.
What Not To Wear: oh, you work outdoors and like to wear shorts and boots and flannel? Gross. You must wear Fashion now. Here’s a three-piece suit and some designer shoes.
Queer Eye: oh, you work outdoors and like to wear shorts and boots and flannel? You know, if you just try a different cut of jeans and get some clean new boots you can still look like a professional in your shorts and hiking shirts. Also let me recommend some breathable fabrics so you don’t stink as much when you get sweaty.
Also Queer Eye: Are you wearing sunscreen? Because we care about you please wear sunscreen
