Explosive Family Jewels

Situation: Myself and a few friends are playing my quest in a Savage Worlds game. So, a greedy dwarf, lazy mage and a giant walking humanoid cat were shoved into a cave because they were attacked by nasty little goblins. What they didn’t know, was that the cave was full of jewels of many sizes ranging from a tiny jewel that’s the size of a persons hand to as big as a china cabinet.

Me (GM): “Okay guys, you walk into a cave that hides you from the goblins. As you continue to walk deeper and deeper into the cave it gets darker and harder for everyone to see inside.”

Mage(OOC) “Okay, well then, I’m going cast a small ball of fire into my hand so that we can see where we are going.” *rolls a 7*

Me (GM): “Okay, cool. You made a reasonably small ball of light for everyone to see inside the cave. Everyone inside can see dozens and dozens of jewels that glittered into the cave, it seemed like an endless amount”

Dwarf (OOC) *Decides to act like the greedy bastard that he is* “I want to find the biggest jewel I can find”

Me: “Okay, roll for notice”

Dwarf: *He rolls a 15* Okay, do I find anything?

Me: Well, as you continue down the cave to find any jewels that you can sell for a fair amount of money, you immediately bump into what you think is the mother of all jewels. you see a giant diamond that is as big as the cat (which stands at 6'4) and it weighs about a ton"

Dwarf (OOC): *jokingly* “Welp, My penis pretty much explodes after looking at this thing.”

Me: *taking him seriously since I didn’t realize he was joking* “Okay, well roll for damage.”

Dwarf (OOC): “Wait… Really? Okay.” *rolls for damage and crits*

Me: *Laughing* “Welp, as soon as you look at the damn thing you penis explodes as if a cherry bomb went off in your pants, you’re now have a bleeding crotch, and you start to scream from the pain.“

MageOOC: "I’m gonna try to save his penis. *in character* LET ME HEAL YOU FRIEND!” *rolls to heal it and crits*

Me: “Well shit, as you are healing his penis, you have also added a large amount of girth to it, making it the most handsome penis everyone has ever laid eyes on.”

Dwarf OOC: “We’ll see about that when we go back into town!"

lately i’ve been replacing my “i’m sorry”s with “thank you”s, like instead of “sorry i’m late” i’ll say “thanks for waiting for me”, or instead of “sorry for being such a mess” i’ll say “thank you for loving me and caring about me unconditionally” and it’s not only shifted the way i think and feel about myself but also improved my relationships with others who now get to receive my gratitude instead of my negativity

Dump Stats

Every character has one or two low stats. Sometimes it’s good enough to say “my character isn’t strong, and has poor social skills.” But sometimes you want your weaknesses to contribute to your character’s personality.

This is by no means meant to be definitive, but this chart suggestions causes or effects of a combination of two low stats. For example, if your character has low Charisma and Constitution, the chart suggests they are perhaps cowardly. Low Strength and Wisdom? Perhaps they are very young, or act childlike.

Hopefully this provides some inspiration for turning your dump stats into more interesting facets of your character!

Self preservation, yeah. Self preservation should include gaining the trust of your ALLIES to ensure that they will stick around and ALLY with you for whatever your end goal may be. Ya know, ALLIES who might HEAL YOU, or KILL THAT THING BEFORE IT KILLS YOU.

Steal from your allies, and you’re at the bottom of the list (if even on the list) to be healed or assisted or invited back to the goddamn game.

You want to be a thief, awesome, STEAL FROM THE FUCKING ENEMY. Steal from the shitty obnoxious nobles! Steal from someone who isn’t YOUR ALLY.

Tawon Boyd, 21, dies after fight with Baltimore police.

A 21-year old father died on Wednesday after a chaotic fight with Middle River, Maryland police, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Attorneys for the man, Tawon Boyd, told the Sun that his kidneys and heart had failed in the aftermath of an altercation with police that occurred on Sunday morning.

“Mr. Boyd was in need of medical attention, and the police responded with violence,” Latoya Francis-Williams, an attorney for the family, said. “The police beat him into intensive care, and now he’s no longer with us.”

Authorities said that an autopsy is pending, and confirmed that both the county police and fire departments are conducting internal investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death. Read more.
