Everytime a cis women tries to argue against gender neutral language in medical settings it becomes very clear they care more about their comfort then trans men being denied medical care and dying.
I donât care how âuncomfortableâ the terms person with a uterus, person who can give birth, person with breasts, etc. makes you. I very much care more about trans men having access to medical care than a cis personâs feelings.
Itâs almost been three months since I posted this and I still get death threats sent to me because I talked about language in medical insurance paperwork and how using gender neutral language makes it easier for trans men to access care â¤ď¸
What a thing to say!
What a person to pull!
Wow!
âYou shouldnât self-ID as ADHD/autistic, youâre turning a very real mental condition into a trendâ Ok then stop saying delulu. Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying âschizopostingâ and âacousticâ and âis it restarted?â Stop using âpsycopathâ and âsociopathâ as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying âthe intrusive thoughts wonâ when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying âIâm so OCDâ as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying âOP I am living in your wallsâ without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers youâve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
You first. If you donât want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. Iâll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. Which a lot of you are
One time I was explaining to my dad how unfair it is that every big city has at least a couple gay bars but there are only like 20ish lesbian bars left in the country and he responded with "That's cause gay men have a good party culture. Lesbians don't have time to party, they're too busy debating the sociological implications of things and studying for postgrad degrees" and as much as I wanted to tell him he was out of line for that, as a lesbian who spends all her free time on Tumblr debating sociological implications and messaging other lesbians in discord servers where everyone has a PhD or masters for some reason I felt like I might not be the best person to make that argument
there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because sheâs self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism
if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with âbut i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(â or âexactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashedâ i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

some quick Arlecchino!
what's so striking to me about younger queer generations rn isn't the lack of knowledge about queer history, but the complete unwillingness to engage with it, when confronted with an identity or history they haven't heard of before they react with disgust rather than curiosity. (for example) instead of asking where the leather pride flag came from and what the leather community is and represents they immediately question the need for something like that to exist, not even willing to listen and learn from both elders and peers. this is also more broadly a problem in leftist spaces in general, being reactionary is somehow the default now, and anything that's different or unknown must be an attack and bad. really hoping y'all manage to grow out of this deeply conservative way of interacting with the world.

â¨ICON⨠â¨ICON⨠(yes I know Iâm like a year late with this trend)
Iâm so sorry but in the nicest way possible do yall actually read books or just read words??? Cause Iâve been seeing that trend of people not understanding how âsnarledâ and âeyes darkenedâ and âeyes softenedâ etc. was used in a book and likeâŚ
Genuinely, do yall just not have imagination?? Or not understand figurative language??? Also eyes do literally darken and soften have you not lived a life??? How do you read with no imagination? Is this how you get through so many books in one month - you simply donât take the time the understand the words as they are read?
EXACTLY!
it pisses you off to see a faggot be so happy
#so correct#similar w straight women hating butch lesbians#you see a woman not shaving not wearing make up wearing comfy clothes and still being loved and desired#and remember you've contorted yourself into the shape of a Real Woman in exchange for soc acceptance & power#and denied yourself the gentle acceptance of doing what is comfortable on this earth#people needa stop taking out their own shit on gender nonconforming & trans people and start LEARNING from us#cause it is very obvious when cishet people are miserable and mad that we aren't (via @closet-keys)
Heads up to not use Duolingo or to cease using it
In December 2023 they laid off a huge percentage of their translation teams, replacing them with ai and having the remaining members review the ai translations to make sure the translations are âacceptableâ (Note how they use the world acceptable and not accurate)
Link to the tweet that informed me of this:
https://x.com/rahll/status/1744234385891594380?s=46&t=a5vK0RLlkgqk-CTqc0Gvvw
If youâre a current user prepare for an uptick in translations errors as Iâve already seen people in the comments say theyâve noticed
Duolingo has been shifting toward AI since last September according to their blog.

The rate of mispronounced words (mostly on/kun substitutions in Japanese) has gone dramatically up in my lessons, and I'm willing to bet this is why.
