Nicko Cecchini (Canadian, d.o.b. unknown) - La Petite Mort (2026)
This is who I imagine laying underneath Rochegrosse’s Le Chevalier aux fleurs (1894). You just can’t see him amongst the foliage but he’s there.

I should not use tape to rip off the dead skin around my skinned knee (a week healed!)
I should not use tape to rip off the itchy dead skin around my knee
I should not use tape to rip off my skin
Tape was not strong enough, urge unsatisfied
Also to clarify this is bc I am ITCHY not bc I want to hurt myself.

There is a downside to having a job that largely involves standing perfectly still and silent without distraction for multiple hours on end and I think a big one for me is confirmation that staying up too late / having an injury / getbeing stressed etc. does ABSOLUTELY make u stupid
from my strenuous research I have also observed:
An adrenaline high can make u impulsive and makes complex tasks difficult to parse
Sudden strenuous activity can trigger an anxiety attack
Your sense of smell can be sharper or weaker at certain points of your menstrual cycle
Your self-confidence can be higher or lower at certain ponts of your menstrual cycle
You can crash from an adrenaline high
Being irritatable CAN be a sign of hunger and eating WILL make u feel better
You can influence your BPM with enough practice
There us a certain point in meditation where music stops sounding like music and is unrecognizable
People can tell you're watching them if your feet are pointed in their direction
If you don't look at someone when they're talking they sometimes forget you can hear
Perfectly normal things will seem aggravating if u are already mad about something so if u don't chill it'll keep getting worse
Very wholesome Popewhit with Trinity and Lena thoughts are being thunked ...
Trinity, Lena and Dennis are sitting at the dinner table and Andrew comes over to them and is like "what are you guys up to?" And Trin says proudly "I am showing Lena how to make lizards with pony beads aka core summer camp memory!" And Lena just looks up at Andrew with the biggest grin on her face having the time of her life making jewellery. "We will make friendship bracelets next!" Andrew just smiles and strokes Lena's head but before he can slink off again Dennis grabs his hand and goes "Do you want to join us?" - "Yes Uncle Pope please! Please join!!" And How is he supposed to say no to that?!
So he joins but... He quickly finds out that these are medium to high fine motors kills activities he really doesn't possess. The beads are flimsy, keep slipping and sliding off the string and its frustrating him more than he can enjoy it. So he ends up just watching them. It's nice that way too, simply being in their presence.
Until Lena throws over the tray of sorted beads in a laughing fit. The round little colorful beads go flying everywhere and most importantly all colors mixing into one. Lena is profusely apologising to Trinity with tears in her cute little eyes and while Trin comforts her, saying its okay accidents happen, Andrew and Dennis are on the floor picking up all the beads. They throw them all in a bowl just so they are all in one place again but they were neatly colour sorted beforehand. Now they are just a pile of rainbow colored mess. Trin just sighs, she really doesn't mind that much but it's still annoying.
"I'll sort them for you." Andrew quickly says. "No Andrew, you don't have to do that." Trin waves him off but he persist. "No I'll do it." Not because he wants to make up for Lena messing them up but because he wants to. He doesn't say that of course, but once he starts sorting the little beads in rainbow order Dennis sees it. Dennis sees the focused but peaceful calm wash over Andrew's face. His anxious ticks and stims non existent as he carefully picks out the right color that he is currently working on.
So that's how they spend their afternoon. Trin,Dennis and Lena tie friendship bracelets while Andrew sits with them sorting the pony beads back into the tray in the right order they belong in.
Did you know that um…. (remembers that words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm) …………

It's my cat's birthday (anniversary of me getting him) so I told him the story of his life while petting him real good
Highlights include:
For your first two years (when you were small) you lived in a foster home with people who raised you into a very polite young man. Two is like you plus me, that's what two is.
Some people adopted you before me and they called you Timmy (which is a stupid name) and they returned your ass almost immediately because you were so annoying at that age.
Like think about how annoying you are right now at seven years old, but way worse.
I'm better than them though, I don't call you Timmy and I wore earplugs to bed for three years because you love to scream at bedtime. Earplugs are like when I roll over and go back to sleep even when you are yelling so so so loud.
I got you at a time in my life when I was really sick (being sick is like when I'm up late because I'm throwing up and you are a very handsome good boy who sits with me) and they had to put me asleep for a procedure. A procedure is like what happened to you when they put you asleep and took your balls away.
Now you've lived with me for five years. Five is like the number of toe beans on one of your feet. When I clip your nails five is when we're halfway done. But we're hopefully not even halfway done with how long we get to be together. I'm gonna have to figure out new ways to help you count.
Actually I've decided this is a poem
rabbot / trans robby
TW: deadnaming, the name itself and the event isn’t described, just mentioned.
———————————————————————————-
Jack and Robby both start growing out their beards while working the same shift. Robby’s quietly proud—it’s the first time since starting t that his beard actually started to look like a “real” beard.
However, after admins make a whole deal out of being professional and looking presentable. Adamson tells them one of them has to shave—“Not running a biker gang on day shift. Patients and upstairs prefer clean-shaven doctors, gentlemen.”
and somehow Robby’s and Jack’s already fragile dynamic grows a little more tense as neither of them wants to shave.
They bet on it, the person who works on the most patient in a month won’t have to shave his beard. As time passes, their stupid bet over who has to shave their beard continues—both of them putting in longer hours sometimes to catch up with the other one.
Jack is just doing this to piss robby off and show him that he’s better than him, blissfully unaware of the fact that the beard represents something more important to robby
After a confrontation with a patient, out of nowhere Robby spirals, staggers back into the hub and finds Jack. Stoic Mr. Robinavitch seems to be lost, his face pale as he asks Jack to take over his patient for him.
Jack could do nothing but nod due to the man’s demeanor all shaken up. When Jack got over to check the patient, she seemed like a regular old patient, nothing out of the ordinary. So he had no idea why Robby passed the patient to him and looked like he was about to puke his guts out.
Later on, as the hours pass by, he tries to ask Robby what actually went down with the patient.
“What, did she flirt with you or something? What got your panties all tied up?” Jack says as he tries to lighten the mood and figure out what actually happened.
He somehow finds himself worried about Robby.
However, Robby isn't having any of it. He snaps at Jack, clearly overwhelmed, tears and frustration brimming in his eyes and his face ashy like the chalk they use on blackboards—his pale face a stark contrast to his brown beard.
Jack thinks, screw this, we aren’t really friends anyway, so why should he care, anyway? But Jack can’t still forget the look in Robby’s eyes.
Robby takes rest of the day off.
The next day, Robby shows up clean-shaven, eyes puffy, his face sunken.
Jack doesn’t fully understand why the man shaved and admitted defeat this early.
Also, why did a beard matter so much in the first place anyway?
Then one day, he overhears Robby whispering to Dana about being deadnamed in his medical records and how he feels like he doesn’t ‘look’ masculine anymore, and yeah, Jack feels like the biggest asshole.
While Jack never clocked that Robby was trans, but he was still able to understand why Robby might feel like he wasn’t ‘enough’.
To jack he was more than enough. He was Robinavitch fo g-d’s sake. A man who could do everything, an unwavering force.
Even though Jack had no idea what went down with that patient months ago, he was now somewhat sure that it must have been something related to Robby being trans, Especially since the poor guy shaved his beard the day right after that encounter.
Next shift, Jack shows up clean-shaven.
He doesn’t make a big deal out of it—just hands Robby a small bottle of beard oil and shrugs — “You should grow it back, brother. Looks better on you anyway.”
Robby’s beard grows faster this time around and jack never stops buying him that brand of expensive beard oil.
okay last mention of lexapro i promise. i just feel more horseful now
Saw this guy this morning!! He’s missing one of his legs off of his prothorax but other than that he seemed in tip top shape! I helped him off the pavement and into the brush
Hear me out. Rabbot at the Pittsburgh Noah Kahan concert.
(A little AU hc exploration, wip)
• Jack purchased the tickets. Actually he paid for the tickets — the actual purchasing action was carried through by Santos and Ellis who had enough experience with ticketing app chaos that, after some promised favors, Jack was able to leave his credit card with the younger doctors with the confidence and trust of a drill sergeant who understood his soldiers’ talents and learnt to put them to use effectively.
• Robby had been talking non-stop about this new album and insisted them listening to it on the drives home. Jack considered reiterating the fact that the custom stereo system in his truck was made for blasting and rocking out to the Killers or the Smashing Pumpkins, driving 50mph with the windows down through brisk Pittsburgh autumn nights. He did not get these surround sound speakers for the mellow tenderness of indie folk. But relationship often came with compromises, Jack knew, even if sometimes that meant watching your partner get emotional in the passenger seat and loosing him to someone singing devastatingly about horses.
