I don't post about politics or anything of that sort but what's happening in my country is disgusting. Although I wasn't there at the protest, I've heard enough to know this this is a complete violation of our democracy. Tear gas thrown on students. Laathi charge. Police ripping off the clothes of young women. A woman's head was smashed open. They're doing exactly what the British did at the Jallianwala Bagh.

The lives and futures of thousands of young students are at stake. Many of them do not have the resources or liberty to keep appearing for exams every time a paper leaks. They cannot send the papers for re-evaluation if there is a problem checking the papers. 20 students have already committed suicide.

I will not be called anti national for simply speaking up about the state of my country.

Please speak up about the state of India.

beating students with laathis, (and these laathis had sharp nails in them btw) students were lying on the ground, female police officers literally tore the clothes of girls who came for protests, when in reality they are supposed to protect them.

is this a democratic country at this point? we were fighting for our education, that is the only median for some people btw. we are the future of this country and we were treated like terrorists? im truly speechless

for those unaware of the situation, an indian engineer, activist, innovator, education reformer, and environment activist who refused to patent his inventions, so that people could use them freely, and built a free school for underpriviliged kids, went on a hunger strike to demand accountability from the indian government for the massive amount of exam paper leaks that have occurred during this current government's rule. his name is sonam wangchuk, and today, on the 20th day of his hunger strike, he was forcefully apprehended by the delhi police, and taken into custody. so far, we have no idea where they've taken him, and during his apprehending, a large group of men forced their way onto the dais he was lying down on(because he's no longer capable of even sitting up in his current state), and held up screens to prevent people from even seeing or recording what they were doing to him behind them.

as a result of the latest paper leak-which was a medical entrance exam-20+ kids committed suicide. this man saw their plight, and decided to use a form of peaceful protest, that indian freedom fighters used, to fight against colonial rule. it's something that has barely gotten any media coverage, as most news channels and newspapers are tightly controlled by the government. there were plans to conduct a peaceful walk to the parliament, and before that could proceed, the police-armed in tactical gear-kidnapped a frail old man, who can't even stand without assistance. this is plain and simple fascism, please talk about it on your various social media platforms to put some pressure on the indian government for the immediate release of this man.

update on this post: we now know he's being kept at safdarjung hospital, and has not been allowed to leave, or have access to his phone or the internet. they have essentially arrested him for practicing his right to peaceful protest. a colleague of mine who works at safdarjung, has not been able to meet him or check on his condition.

over the last seven years, more than 70 national exam papers have leaked, gutting the futures of 37 million students who dedicate every minute of every day to prepare for a sole shot at their future. look at this year's medical entrance exam: over 2.4 million students(mostly late teens) give up their entire high school years (which shouldn't be the norm btw) to prepare for a test that happens only once a year, only for it to be leaked by someone within the very agency conducting it. Because of the agonizing pressure and the forced retakes, more than 20 precious lives were slaughtered by this system. yet, the prime minister has no time to take a knee and acknowledge this, tho he has a shit ton of time to make memes and target minority communities (but I won’t say it here because that requires a whole post of its own). meanwhile, the education minister stubbornly refuses to own up to his painful incompetence and resign.

today, when these people took to the streets to exercise their fundamental constitutional right to protest, they stood there holding literal flowers because it was a peaceful protest, and no one wanted to cause any kind of harm, yet the authorities who swore to protect them treated them like terrorists. the police beat them brutally with sticks, fired tear gas, broke bones, cracked skulls, and arrested actual children (who have more love for the nation than any of the people in the parliament smh)

Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory has literally ruined my life.

BECAUSE ITS SO FUCKINF GOOD AND I CANT MOVE ON. I can't fixate on a show that I used to love anymore cuz I'm still stuck on these disaster gays.

I can't fall in love with new characters anymore I NEED MY CAMPFAM. Everytime I watch a show i insert camp fam as the main characters cuz my brain won't let me enjoy it otherwise.

I've had long hyperfixations on a few shows before but nothing has lasted as long as camp Cretaceous has. It's been almost 6 years, cuz I literally watched this show like a week after its release.

Never did I think that the random Jurassic World show i found on Netflix one night would become such a huge part of my personality. Im not even exaggerating.

Cannot STAND that half of CC/CT tiktok is people being creepy about the Camp Fam when they’re minors. That’s a CHILD. I don’t care if they’re fictional it’s still a child. Also being dense about a character growing up and not acting the same as a child.

There was a tiktok video saying CT Brooklynn was chopped (btw they mentioned she had no arm and the way it was set out came across as ableist) but CC Brooklynn was superior. It’s okay to have a preference or whatever, but the comments were a literal hell hole. “She glowed down” SHE WAS A CHILD, SHE GREW UP, THAT’S NOT A GLOW-DOWN YOU FREAKS. Brooklynn went through some traumatic shit too (all the Camp Fam did) she’s not going to be the same as she was a child.

Same thing with Yaz. The amount of people who sexualise her in CC and prefer her in CC not bc of characterisation but because they’re weirdos is actually disgusting.

They. Grew. Up. They’re not going to be their child selves forever. They all went through shit. I have my own problems with how they handled the characters in CT which causes some of them to seem off in a way that doesn’t make sense even factoring in growing up and previous events, but they did grow up at the end of the day. Part of it is the way they all act when they see each other for the first time in CT, but that’s for another day.

Also if you want to “crack” a minor you need to go to jail even when they’re fictional, you’re fucking disgusting.

damn 2025 is over soon it’s been a wild year (it’s 8:23pm for me EST rn)
