This is how Brooklynn felt during season 4

I like Brooklynn but she was a character that had potential but it was executed poorly. I wish she had depth beyond girlboss in Chaos Theory

To be fair, some of that was due to executive meddling, If I recall correctly, one of the storyboard artist (I think it was Heidi Neunhoffer?) said that they had to cut a lot of scenes out. Brooklynn cried a lot more, and had panic attacks from interacting with smaller dinosaurs in the original storyboards but were scrapped (I think the complaint was that she was crying too much).

One of the things that honestly always bothered me about DinoStar (aside from the large amount of aphobia that exists, which sucks because aside from Yasammy they are the most common ship of the show)

Is the complete and blunt steamrolling over Brooklynn's feelings to make the ship happen.

Brooklynn very clearly in season 1 doesnt have romantic feelings for Darius. Everyone ignores how freaked out she was when Darius said he loved her, to the point she was physically pulling away from him.

Hes her best friend, having your best friend develop feelings is an awful feeling because it can almost always lead to a shift or end of that friendship. Brooklynn just lost Kenji as a boyfriend and she almost looses Darius as a best friend.

And the only thing people talked about was how Darius was in love with her, how only Darius's feelings were taken into account when Brooklynn showed she had no romantic feelings for him in season one.

I dont know why it annoys me so much that there is no fixed timeline of Brooklynn's death vs the start of Chaos Theory, but it really has become one of my biggest critiques of the series. It just seems careless to not know when a main character faked her death and then give a long 6-12 month time frame.

Also annoys me we never get a Brooklynn funeral flashback.

Whenever we talk about their breakup we always talk about how it affected Kenji and what he needed from the relationship

while kind of ignoring that he wasn’t a good match for brook either?? Like obvs she was shitty to him but people always ignore that she seems pretty hurt when she told Darius Kenji wanted her to be something she wasn’t.

Like the entirety of her characterization in camp Cretaceous was being insecure about not being good enough and always having to put on an act so it must have really hurt?

I have many opinions about their relationship but I do think a lot of it boiled down to two entirely different people wanting entirely different things.

I don’t dislike brook in jwct, but I feel like her arc and characterization are poorly handled. She’s not as well written as I wish she was. i understand the time skip but he felt like a completely different character than in jwcc. we didn’t get to see her “moral event horizon”.that plunged her into being as morally gray as she was and it’s sad bc she had sooo much wasted potential

fair enough.
