I’m looking for books that are written in 3rd person with exceptional prose and descriptions, I’ll be using them as writing help because I currently feel very discouraged with my writing voice. I sound robotic, and it feels like I’m over explaining the wrong things and under explaining the right things. I also swap between present tense and past tense in a nasty habit and I hate it. But I can’t stop.
(Any tips that specifically helped yall would be great, the more unhinged, the better.)
I love these two so much guh-
Can be read as platonic or romantic
Light quest spoilers below, you have been warned:
⬤ Sirius is the more playful of the brothers; he’s the type to put bunny ears behind Orion and wonders why he gets pissed.
⬤ I see Sirius as a huge tease; he leaves a trail of respectful, fleeting touches just to get a reaction sometimes. (Think harmless side swipes, arm touches, the brushing of hands)
✦ Orion is the clingier of the two, even if he doesn’t show it all the time. Sirius def gets kicked harder when Orion hasn’t had his elected Drifter time and hovers over Drifter like a cloud when they’re out and about on the relay. They both do, but Orion has to be that inch closer.
✦ I picture Orion as being more demanding with his touches, pulling at the edge of your sleeve, grabbing your hand, and maneuvering you as he sees fit.
ʚɞ I like to imagine if the brothers ever danced with the Drifter, they’d purposefully make them dizzy, and the Drifter, all the while, is trying not to lean onto one so as not to make the other jealous.
ʚɞ Sirius and Orion find the appeasement amusing.
ʚɞ They both have jealousy issues. Bad jealousy issues.
ʚɞ You're telling me they kick each other around just so one can be in transferrence for no reason? Bah humbug.
ʚɞ Their fights may or may not have been over the Drifter in the past, and the Drifter knows nothing of it.
ʚɞ So the two think. Grandpa Hunhow is a tattletale.
I was analyzing why Brysko's design to me feels so similar to Adis so I made a... graph? a collage? whatever
firstly it's the 'beak' shape. this kind of face is not exclusive to Adis - Dactolyst and even Hunhow have a cat-like 'muzzle', but in terms of details like slits on the sides and 'fangs' Brysko looks much more similar to Adis than to any other Sentient. Also, what is exclusive to Adis is his 'eyebrows', which Brysko also has. There's also some kind of 'halo' at the back of his head. The Hunra, while lacking any face resemblance, clearly has Adis eyes though.
The middle part of the body of Adis has a diamond shape and shapes his light into an elongated star. The Hunra, while obviously having deformed body of original Adis inside his big shell, lacks the light - it was given to the Operator, or taken by them if the case is Wally not only messing with people's brains, but actively embodying alternative possibilities like they did in JSC. But the star motif is present in Brysko's design, the glowing part in the middle of his chest is also shaped like elongated star.
If this resemblance is intentional and Brysko's face features are indeed supposed to be parts of Adis that Hunra lacks, I wonder if Adis was somehow taken apart O_o
i just watched a literal english professor suggest using AI to 'get out of your writing slump' or 'use it for harder scenes' and it genuinely broke my heart
forget last generation of good writers i think we're hitting the last generation of real writers who aren't just slapping their name on ai slop
One of my buddies has a business class that is basically “use ai to complete this assignment.” Not saying the college for obvious reasons but college educations in the future are gonna mean a lot less. I hope to all who start their education finish it with no problems, and to the future, good luck babe!
If and when Mesa gets made into a protoframe, we ALL agree she needs to be an older woman right? With greys and a southern drawl to roll me into her sheets.
Being the best gun slinger in the galaxy means out living all your opponents, being old in a profession where many die young is the biggest flex.
I wish the Mesa Heirloom signa fit properly on more than just her head. Feel free to tag me in fashion frames that make it look good!!! But I really wanted my drifter to have a cowboy hat and that’s not happening lol.
I’m so excited for Tau, I’ve been crying in and out at work when the stream was going!! Reb you were missed dearly and I wish you a swift recovery. The show wasn’t the same without you there.
What I’m curious about is what a chimera warframe is, note how they said Brysko was the first of his kind, a chimera warframe, but that makes me curious what makes Stalker and his sons a separate type of Warframe?
I think Brysko needs the flowers to stay sentient just like sentinels do, and that’s why he’s in a separate class.
It could also be like with the case of big cats, Brysko can talk openly but chooses not to. While it’s not natural for the Stalker and sons to do so. He’s also the last sentient of his kind, which is warframes I’m assuming, but we still have Stalker and his sons who for all lore intensive purposes, are sentient.
I am working on a fic swear, this was just to kind of properly organize my thoughts on Orion being his most... Self. I'm trying to think of characteristics to work off of for these two and it's hard for me.
Anyway, spoiler warnings below ig.
Orion is the forgotten son- even if he is picked by the Stalker.
Note the dialogue from Vena, (though being manipulative to most likely keep Orion closer to her than Stalker)
If Stalker chose Sirius: "Let us show him what a mistake it was to choose Sirius."
If Stalker chose Orion: "Orion - Daddy doesn't recognize you."
Now here's where my own head cannons/thoughts come in.
Sirius is more like Jade, he's softer around the edges, his color palette matches hers, and he isn't near as destructive as Orion.
Orion I believe even if Stalker picks him, is second to recognized. It goes Sirius… then Orion…
(Note: This is based on videos I've watched, if this is incorrect please lmk.)
Now, some people will argue with me that Sirius isn't recognizable to Stalker either but- hear me out, both of the baby's eyes are green.
Sirius is already more familiar in that regard compared to Orion's sharp yellow eyes.
In Sirius and Orion's prex card Sirius is the brother facing upward and Orion is the one facing downward.
(They should have gotten two cards, BUT, can you rotate it for Orion to be upward? Yes. But I'm playing the reach Olympics here, let me be.)
Now that I've gotten my agenda out there:
✦ Orion is more insecure. Bright red to make him stand out, black metal to accentuate the glow of his golden eyes. He has drapes all over him to have a more intimidating silhouette.
✦ Something to be acknowledged and seen.
✦ His insecurity is why he likes having Vena in his corner, Vena won't put him second to anyone. Vena prioritizes him, going out of her way for him at the hint of a problem/desire Orion has.
✦ Yet it's not what he wants, and it isn't enough to satiate the need to be first place. Or how he wants to be first place for that matter. But it makes him comfortable and solidifies that everyone else is the problem in his eyes.
✦ Then Drifter comes around and solely has eyes on him, it's riveting.
✦ It's receiving the attention he wants, where his other self doesn't matter and it's just you and him. For a time.
✦ And of course, Sirius had to get involved with Drifter at some point. Orion knew it as an inevitable, Sirius and him have too similar of tastes. You were also just filled with too much love to lock down.
✦ Orion has to make a constant effort to not just steal you away in some pocket dimension of yours and force you to stay. (Duviri couldn't have been that bad!) He wants you to be by his side and only his, with focus solely on him, so no one else can come before him.
✦ Orion realizes in his late-night stupor that he hasn't come second to anyone. Orion got to have the taste of being first to the prize, the affection, the love, the care, the body, and Sirius is allowed to share in his bountiful harvest.
✦ But only as the second runner.
