Thursday arrived, and the plan was about to begin.
Sungho was walking happily through the college hallways after his exam ended, on his way to the coffee shop. Not only had he managed to fill the entire exam paper (he studied the day before), but he was also going to witness how two of his friendsย would getย closeย thanks to him. Maybe he was a genius after all.
Yes, he had a lot of assignments and projects pending, but this was way better.
The coffee shop near campus was large, spacious and quite pretty, with cozy decorations all over the place. It was a popular spot amongst studentsย since it saved them from falling asleep in class, all thanks to its excellent and wide variety of coffees.
Perfect. Now all he had to do was wait for his friends. Maya had told him that Minji would join the hang out too, and that wasn't a problem at all. Heย hoped neither of them would feel uncomfortable as he tried to bring them closer together, so her presence was more than welcome.ย
He checked the time, ten minutes until the time they agreed on. Riwoo hadn't left the dance studio, Taesan was adding the finishing touches to hisย music production project, Jaehyun hadn't left the meeting he had with the Economics department, Leehan was finishing his exam, and Woonhak was stuck in school, unable to go as he was the youngest of them all.
So he sat in one of the tables, enjoying the view while waiting for everyone, thinking about howย to bringย Leehanย andย Mayaย together. They were both a bit quiet, but Leehan was definitely more extroverted than her. He actually gave him some tips the night before that, with luck, wouldย strike up a conversation and a friendship with her that would lead to a future relationship. Yeah, he definetly was a genius.
Riwoo and Jaehyun were the first ones to arrive, and just a few moments later Maya and Minji as well.
"Hello everyone" Minji greeted as everyone found a seat. "I won't be able to stay long, I have an appointment with my dentist."
"It's okay" Sungho responded. "If you want, order your coffee now. Maya will save your seat." Minji nodded and went to order one.
Jaehyun, curious and willing to break the silence that was present on the table, asked, "So, how's it going Maya? Sungho told us you were studying marine biology, must be tough."
"Well, yeah, it is. But when you are passionate about something it feels less like a burden" she smiled. "It's actually very entertaining, so it will be worth it."
"You're right" Riwoo nodded. "Look, the ones who are missing are coming this way" he said while looking at the two boys that were entering the shop.
Leehan and Taesan's figures emerged, the later hiding a laugh with his hoodie sleeve.
"Is that her, Leehan? You're a little red" he whispered.
"Yes. Don't say anything else, please."
"Hi guys" Taesan said while he and Leehan got extra chairs to sit with them. He then looked at the unfamiliar girl that Leehan wouldn't stop staring since they had entered the building. "You must be Maya."
"That's right, a pleasure" she responded, her gaze quickly going to Leehan after smiling politely.
"I'm Taesan, and he's Leehan" he pointed at his friend, who was sitting right in front of her.
"Hi again." Leehan said, a little nervous. Maya's heart literally skipped a beat. He did not forget her.
"Hi."
"Hey Leehan, how was the exam?" Minji, with a coffee in her hands, asked, as she had done the same exam as him. "It was looong, but I left before you."
"Yeah it was. I got stuck on question 20 but I think I fixed it."
"Good for you" Sungho patted him on the back. "Let's order."
Once the coffee and cookies that they had ordered arrived, Minji had to go. But they quickly started to talk again and Sungho seized the opportunity. He turned to see the girl.
"You know? Leehan loves fish, like you. He's got a fish tank at our apartment and he takes care of them a lot, he's an expert." Sungho said to create a small and nervous smile on Maya's face, who already knew it but still fidgeted with her fingers nervously.ย
"Yeah, I figured. I actually saw him at a fish store."
Leehan noddded at that. "True, last weekend."
"Ah, Mr. Hwang's shop. I'd say he's one of his most regular costumers." Sungho smiled.
"I actually am." Leehan corrected him, making the girl smile. With that his nerves were out, he needed to talk to her. "I heard you said youย liked fishing, right?"
"Y-yeah" she answered. Chill Maya, CHILL, she thought. "When I lived in the United States, my town was about an hour away from a big lake. I'd go with my dad almost every weekend."
"That's awesome" Leehan smiled. He had to keep going. "Sungho told me you studied marine biology. I find it very interesting, but only as a hobby. I'm content taking care of my fish."
"Can I see them?" Maya asked, curious. When it came to that, all theย shameย inside her vanished.
"Of course." Leehan took out his phone and opened a folder full of pictures of them. They spent the time commenting on the different species and the things that caught their attention of each one.ย
"...but wow, they're really pretty. Do they have names?" she asked.
"Actually, no. I'm not good with names." They both laughed at that, and Sungho just smiled satisfied in the background along with the others.

The afternoon continued with Leehan amazed by Maya's words about the fish and marine creatures she was studying. The boys got bored quickly and, as theย hyperactiveย group they were, they all went to the nearby park to play football. Maya and Leehan were still in their little bubble, so they simplyย moved their conversation to one of the park benches. As they talked more, Maya's nerves disappeared. They were really enjoying each other's company due to the many shared interests they had.
"There you are!" A voice was heard behind them after a while. "Oh, a new face. Hello, I'm Kim Woonhak."
Woonhak had finallyย escapedย school and had quickly ran to join the rest of the group. Turns out he found them havingย a competition to see who scored the most penalties, and Leehan with a girl talkingย enthusiastically about something in the bench in front of the field.
"Hi Woonhak, I'm Maya. I'm a friend of Sungho's, and I got invited to join the hang out" she presented herself, a little nervous as their little bubble had popped with his arrival.
"Oh, you are Maya. Yes, I've been told things about you" he said while taking something out of his sports bag, all while Leehan mouthed to him a STOP. "Anyways, I brought my basket ball, wanna play? I don't feel like playing football right now."
"Would be good, but I can't leave Maya alone. She'd get bored." He looked at her, and Mayaย had to stifle a chuckle. Yes, she already was down bad.
"Want to play with us, Maya?" Woonhak asked, his adorable smile appearing. "It's okay if you don't know much. We can help you improve."
"Are you sure?" She was doubting. Woonhak nodded, how could you say no to him?
"It will be fine, being bad is part of the process" Leehan said while standing up and offering his hand to her. "C'mon."
The girl smiled, convinced, and reached for his hand to stand up, and suddenly the space between them got smaller and smaller.
"By the way, you're not only Sungho's friend, you're also my friend now" he whispered to her.
"Really?" she asked, unable to stop blushing lightly due to the boy's closeness.
"Of course..." he smiled. "Not for long, though" he whispered that to himself.
"What?" she asked. Did she hear correctly or was just imagining things? She did not get a proper response. Leehan was already dragging her to the basketball court, with a smile onย hisย face as he started to spill more fun facts about fish that were surprisingly related to basketball too.

Maya arrived to the coffee shop, parking in the nearest metal fence she could find. She was catching her breath while locking the bicycle. She really hadย boltedย out ofย the street where she had found Leehan. Deep down, she regretted having left that place so quickly, but she hadn't been able to think straight in that moment. Nervousness took hold of her, especially after finding out he was in the same shop full of fish she had to go to deliver the box.
She inmediately distinguished the figure of Minji, her best friend since she started college, who was waiting for her in the stairs next to the building, one of her legs uncounciously moving rapidly against the ground. She stood up as soon as she saw her and ran to her.
"Maya!" she hugged her, "c'mon, we need caffeine."
It was true,ย theyย needed a coffee.ย Thirst and fatigue were recurring sensations for both of her now that their first college exam season was just around the corner. Last night, she studied with barely taking breaks. She had to be sure she was ready, as marine biology wasn't an easy career. There was also extra pressure, because her grades would determine her spot in theย internshipsย her classย would be doing at the end of the year in Jeju.
They ordered and sat in a free table with their coffee in hand. Once she had a sip, she felt instantly better.
"So..." Minji smirked. "Leehan."
They made eye contact and giggled like little girls. "I swear to god, it was so unexpected I didn't know what to do" Maya said.ย "I mean, who could have imagined?"
"I know" her friend laughed. "Tell me everything, in full detail."
They spent their time gossiping, laughing at the situation and also reminiscing on the first time Maya had ever talked about her innocent college crush.ย Kim LeeHan, the handsome guy studying psychology at the same university as her, had gone to Mr. Hwang's shop to buy fish. The boy had a fish tank and seemed to know Mr.Hwang,ย as if he had been there many times before.ย
"It's crazy, that boy likes fish, like you" Minji said. "It's fate, girl. You have to talk to him!"
"How?"
"I could get a word with him, you know?" Fortunately for her, Minji also studied psychology and shared most of her classes with Leehan, "Or you can come and pick me up from one of our classesย and-"
"No, that would be so embarrasing."
"Then how are you going to get together and bond over fish?" Minji asked dramatically, and they both laughed. A couple minutes later, her face lit up with an idea. "Wait, remember how youย noticedย him?"
"Yeah, through Sungho."
Leehan was one Park Sungho's best friends. Sungho was a guy that was studying to be a vet in the same college as them, and they had been close ever since she moved to Seoul after living in the States most of her life. They were neighbours and shared an interest for animals, so their friendship was established right away.
At the start of the year, she once found Sungho in the college grounds when he was going to the library with his friends. They stopped to talk for a bit, and she saw Leehan for the first time.ย Or thatโs what Sunghoย said his name wasย when he noticed the girl staring at him.ย
"Maya? Who are you looking at?" he asked while turning around, following her gaze. "Oh... why are you looking at Leehan like that? If you like him, you're going to scare him if you keep staring." he smirked.
Maya inmediately shook her head, embarrassed and red, while Sungho started to laugh, later promsing he wouldn't say a word about the situation to his friend.
From that moment, Maya had been smitted with that tall boy. She didn't know how and why, when they had never exchanged a word, but it was a small little feeling she kept inside her. She never thought it'd be more than that. But she later learned more things about him from what both Sungho and Minji told her: he was a positive guy who radiated confidence and a sense of well-being, and was also pretty good in class. So, of course, he caught her attentionย every time sheย saw him in the hallways, more and more in each occasion
At least heย sawย meย now, at least heย knowsย myย name.ย That was whatย sheย toldย herself, holding onto hope, knowing it was very likely he wouldn't remember.
After taking some pictures with Minji, texting Sungho and finishing her drink, she headed home, where she told his dad how Mr.Hwang had taken the news and saw how he inmediately left his unfinished work, grabbed his car keys and left the house to go to the store. It was a rare sight to see him so euphoric, but she just laughed and went to her room to study again.ย

Leehan arrived to the dorm a bit stunned, he continued to think about what had happened in the shop and who had he met. Riwoo, on of his roommates, was playing videogames in the living room when the boy started to leave his things in the dining table. He then moved to leave the bags with his new fish on the top of the fish tank after removing the long lid that covered it. While he stored the rest of the stuff he bought, Riwoo paused the game and approached curious.
"Why haven't you got them out of their bags?"
"Because they need to adapt to the tank's water temperature first. I'll get them out after half an hour."
"Okay, now I get it " he said, then looked at him while wiggling his eyebrows. "Are you alright? You seem a bit... wow, areย YOUย blushing?" He asked while starting to laugh.
"Yeah..." Leehan covered his face while sitting on the couch. "I guess you could call it the symptons ofย attraction at first sight."
"Not you sounding like a text book" Riwoo said after snapping a picture. "So, you saw a girl for the first time and felt attracted to her?"
Neither of them had even a shred of experience with such matters, but Riwoo was certain that Leehan could figure himself out, given the sheer number of books on psychology and the human mind he had read.
"Yes. A girl entered the shop to deliver something to Mr.Hwang, but I didn't really noticed how much she caught my attention until she left. She was a bit shy and nervous, butย I got a good impression of her because she likes fish too."
"So if a girl likes fish like you, you're inmeditely whipped for her." Riwoo held a laugh.
"Maybe that's how it works for me."
"Unbelievable."
A while later, Leehan released his new fish, who swam energetically all over the fish tank. Riwoo got closer to see them properly.
"They are really pretty, I like the colors" he said while they both stared at them. Leehan smiled, feeling relaxed as he saw them swim.
Later, one of the bedroom doors opened to reveal the missing roommate. Sungho, freshly showered and changed as he had gone to the gym earlier that morning, walked towards them.
"Morning people, oh, the new fish are really colorful" he said while taking a pan out of one of the kitchen drawers. "I guess the trip to Mr.Hwang's was really productive" he smirked, "what happened there, huh?"
"Leehan experimented the symptoms of attraction at first sight." Riwoo smirked too, resting his headย onย one of his hands.ย
Sungho deadpanned, "He actually said those words, didn't he?"
"Yep."
"Well, who was the lucky lady?"
He explained the whole situation to Sungho, who just cracked a smile after hearing his words.
"So let me get this clear: you find her pretty and interesting, ANDย she likes fish. Sounds like the perfect formula for you." He said while starting to cook some meat. "I can help you with that Leehan, it's obvious you don't knowย whereย to start."
"Damn, thanks, though your not wrong. I'm absolutely lost."
"Well... do you know her name?" Riwoo asked while Sungho served a plate full of meat on the table.
"Mr. Hwang called her Maya" as Leehan answered, Sunho began to choke on the piece of meat he had ateย to test its flavor.
Once he recovered, he asked, "Maya, you said?" the boy nodded and then grabbed one of the pieces of meat. "Hey, that's supossed to be my breakfast."
"I don't care. I'm starving."
"The more, the merrier." Riwoo said as he joined Leehan, fork in hand.
Sungho, defeated, went quickly to his room to text Maya, but she had been faster than him. He just giggled while reading her friend's reaction to the unexpected encounter.
The noise of the main door opening and the loud noises of the other three, who lived downstairs, filled the apartment. Sungho just laughed to himself one more time before running to save some of his now non-existing breakfast, thinking thatย Maya didn't know the extent to which her feelings were beginning to be reciprocated.

โ summary
Being Juhoonโs girlfriend was easy.
Ignoring the fact that he disappeared in the middle of class, randomly left your dates, and somehow always had an excuse whenever Spider-Man showed upโฆ
New York City pulsed around you like it always didโhorns blaring, neon lights flickering against rain-slicked streets, the distant wail of sirens that had become background noise in your life. But nothing in this chaotic metropolis made your heart race quite like Juhoon did. Being his girlfriend felt like the easiest, most natural thing in the world most days. His laugh could light up even the grayest afternoon in Queens, and the way his fingers laced through yours made the skyscrapers feel a little less overwhelming.
What wasnโt easy was ignoring the cracks in the perfect picture.
You were Spider-Manโs biggest fan. Obsessively so. Youโd been hooked since that first viral video of him swinging through Times Square, quipping at a group of would-be bank robbers like it was just another Tuesday. The suit, the grace, the quiet heroism beneath the sarcasmโit all made your chest tighten with a mix of awe and something warmer. And Juhoon? Heโd just shrug it off every time you gushed about the latest sighting, leaning back in his chair during lunch with that signature lazy grin.
โSuperheroes are overrated, babe,โ heโd say, voice low and teasing as he stole a fry from your tray. โGuyโs probably some attention junkie hiding behind a mask. Iโm right here, incredibly handsome and real. Why settle for spandex fantasies?โ
Youโd roll your eyes, poke his chest, and laugh, but the words lingered. Especially on days like today.
Midtown High, Monday Afternoon
The final bell had rung fifteen minutes ago. You leaned against Juhoonโs locker, backpack heavy on your shoulder, thumb scrolling through the Spider-Man subreddit on your phone. Another heroic saveโa car chase on the FDR stopped cold, the hero webbing up the getaway vehicle mid-air while cracking jokes audible even over the traffic. Your heart did that familiar flip.
Footsteps approached. Juhoon rounded the corner, hair tousled like heโd run through a wind tunnel, cheeks faintly flushed, breathing just a touch too quick for someone whoโd supposedly been in study hall.
โSorry Iโm late,โ he murmured, sliding an arm around your waist and pulling you in for a quick kiss on the temple. His scentโfaint soap mixed with something sharper, like ozone after a stormโwrapped around you. โMr. Harlan needed help moving some equipment. Old man wouldnโt stop talking.โ
You tilted your head, searching his warm brown eyes. โFifteen whole minutes? Thatโs a new record for โequipment.โโ
He chuckled, the sound vibrating against you, but there was a flicker in his gazeโsomething guarded. โYou know how he gets. Come on, letโs get out of here before he ropes us into more.โ
You let him tug you down the hall, his hand warm and steady in yours. But the doubt gnawed at the edges of your mind like the cityโs persistent chill.
That evening, your date at the cozy Korean spot in K-Town started perfectly. Steam rose from bowls of tteokbokki, spicy and sweet, the restaurant buzzing with chatter and the sizzle of grills. Juhoon fed you a bite, eyes crinkling with affection, making you forget the worries for a while. Then his phone buzzed on the table. His expression shiftedโsubtle, but you caught it: jaw tightening, shoulders tensing.
โMom needs me,โ he said softly, already reaching for his jacket. โFamily stuff. Iโll walk you home firstโโ
โItโs okay,โ you replied, forcing brightness into your voice even as your stomach knotted. The city lights outside seemed harsher suddenly. โText me when youโre safe?โ
He hesitated, then cupped your face with both hands, kissing you deeply, lingering like he was pouring apologies into it. โI love you. Donโt stay up too late worrying about nothing.โ
He vanished into the neon glow. Forty minutes later, your feed exploded: Spider-Man swinging through Midtown, stopping a robbery with effortless flips and webs. You stared at the blurry photos, heart pounding with a cocktail of excitement and dread. No. It couldnโt be.
The doubts built over daysโstolen moments in empty classrooms where heโd pull you close, whispering sweet nothings that made your pulse race, only for him to slip away again. Each disappearance chipped at the trust youโd built.
Thursday after school, in the quiet of your small apartment with its creaky floors and window overlooking the bustling street, you couldnโt hold it in anymore. Textbooks lay scattered on the coffee table, snacks half-eaten. Juhoon was fidgeting on the couch beside you, phone face-down but clearly distracting him.
โJuhoon,โ you said, voice steady but heart hammering. โAre you Spider-Man?โ
The silence that followed was deafening. His face went blank for a split secondโeyes widening, breath catchingโbefore he burst into laughter. It sounded real, warm, but you saw the micro-tension in his shoulders.
โMe? Come on, babe.โ He pulled you into his lap, arms wrapping around you like a shield. His forehead pressed to yours, breath mingling. โI trip over my own feet in gym. You think Iโm out there doing aerial acrobatics? Iโm flattered you think Iโm that cool, but no. Iโm justโฆ helping my uncle at the shop sometimes. Heโs getting older, and itโs heavy stuff. I donโt talk about it because I hate burdening you. Iโm sorry for the lies. I hate keeping anything from you.โ
His voice cracked just enough, eyes so earnest and full of guilt that your walls crumbled. The details felt too specific, too raw. You sighed, burying your face in his neck. โOkay. I believe you. For now. Justโฆ donโt shut me out completely.โ
He held you tighter, kissing your hair. โNever.โ
Sunday โ toofi Island Carnival
This was supposed to be perfect. The air smelled of saltwater, fried dough, and popcorn. Lights twinkled like stars against the dusky sky, laughter and screams blending from the rides. Juhoon had won you a massive plush spider after three tries at the ring toss, laughing triumphantly as he handed it over. โFor my number one fan,โ he teased, but his eyes were soft.
You rode the Cyclone together, wind whipping your hair, his arm securely around you as the car plummeted. Funnel cake left sticky sweetness on your fingers, which he licked off playfully, making you giggle and swat at him. For hours, it was just you twoโstolen kisses between booths, his jokes making you snort laughter, the kind of effortless joy that made you forget the cityโs dangers.
Then his phone buzzed again.
His face fell, that familiar shadow crossing it. โBabe, I have toโโ
โGo,โ you whispered, chest aching. โBe safe.โ
He kissed you fiercely, hands framing your face like you were the only steady thing in his world. โIโll be right back. Stay near the lights. I love you more than anything.โ
He disappeared into the crowd. You waited. Three minutes. Five. The screams startedโreal ones, not ride-induced. The Wrecker, some armored brute, was rampaging through the park, metal groaning as he flipped a carousel like a toy. Chaos erupted.
You shouldnโt have followed. But the pull was too strong. Heart in your throat, you slipped through panicked crowds, dodging debris, drawn toward the epicenter.
There he was. Spider-Man. Webbing the villainโs massive arm, swinging in a graceful arc that defied physics, landing a powerful kick that echoed. The fight was brutalโpunches shaking the ground, webs slicing through the air. When a hit sent Spider-Man crashing into the carousel wreckage, his mask tore slightly at the edge.
You saw it. The small mole just beneath his left eye. The one youโd traced with your fingertip during lazy mornings. The one youโd kissed a thousand times.
Your world tilted. Heart dropping like a stone into the abyss, breath frozen in your lungs. Itโs him. Itโs really him. Betrayal, awe, fear, loveโit all crashed together in a dizzying wave. You backed away, tears blurring the lights, and fled home before the fight even ended.
Your phone lit up relentlessly once the dust settled. Messages from Juhoon flooded in:
Where are you? Iโm sorry it took so long.
The lines were crazy โน๏ธ You okay?
Baby, talk to me.
Hello?
Did something happen?
You silenced it, curling under your blankets in the dim apartment, the plush spider staring at you accusingly from the corner. Sobs wracked your bodyโwhy did it hurt so much when youโd suspected? The man you loved was a hero, but heโd lied. Over and over.
A soft thwip against the window glass pulled you from the haze. You knew. Heart pounding, you cracked it open.
Juhoon climbed in, still in his civilian clothes, hair wild from the wind, eyes wide with worry and exhaustion. โIโm so sorry for taking forever. There was this thing with my uncle andโโ
You stood there, arms crossed tight over your chest, eyes red and puffy. The words left you in a broken whisper. โHad a good day, Juhoon? Or should I sayโฆ Spider-man?โ
His face crumpled. All color drained, leaving him looking younger, more fragile than the hero youโd watched battle a monster. โY/Nโฆ howโโ
โI saw you.โ Your voice rose, trembling with months of bottled fear and hurt. โI followed you tonight. I watched you fight him. The mask slipped. I saw the mole. Stop lying to me! All the disappearances, the excuses during class, during our datesโevery time I needed you, you were out there playing hero!โ
Tears spilled hot down your cheeks. You yelled everythingโthe terror of wondering if he was hurt, the loneliness, the betrayal of being kept in the dark when youโd trusted him with your heart. โI canโt be with someone who hides something this huge. Get out.โ
He stepped forward, hands raised pleadingly, voice cracking. โPlease, let me explain. I was protecting you! If anyone knew about usโif villains found out who you areโtheyโd use you against me. I lost my uncle because I hesitated once. I canโt lose you too. Iโm sorry, baby. I was scared. I still am. But I love youโโ
โGet the fuck out, Juhoon.โ
He stood frozen, eyes glistening, looking absolutely wrecked. Slowly, head bowed in defeat, he climbed back out the window into the cold night. You slammed it shut, locked it, and collapsed onto the bed, crying until exhaustion pulled you under. Why had you pushed him away? You knew the risks now, understood the weight he carried, but the hurt ran deep. Sleep came fitful and dreamless.
Juhoon trudged through the dimly lit streets of Queens, kicking pebbles that skittered into gutters. The weight of the suit in his bag felt heavier than any villain. His best friend Martin was lounging outside their dorm, spotting him immediately.
โRough night?โ Martin asked, straightening up.
Juhoon spilled everythingโthe fight, your discovery, the way youโd yelled and kicked him out, the fear that heโd ruined the best thing in his life. His voice broke as he admitted he didnโt know if youโd ever forgive him.
Martin stared, then groaned. โYouโre kidding. Youโre literally Spider-Man, man. You punch through walls and swing off buildings, but youโre gonna let her slip away because youโre bad at secrets? Go back. Apologize like you mean it. Tell her everythingโno half-truths. Donโt leave until she hears you out. Trust me on this.โ
Juhoon swallowed hard, nodded, and turned back into the night.
Fifteen minutes later, knuckles rapped softly on your window. You opened it a crack, voice hoarse. โWhat do you want, Juhoon?โ
โPlease. Let me in. I know I messed up, but I canโt walk away like this.โ
You hesitated, the ache in your chest battling the anger. โNo. Didnโt I tell you to leave?โ
โI know, baby. But please. I wonโt go. Iโll stay out here all night if I have to. Justโฆ hear me out.โ
His voice was raw, desperate. You sighed deeply, emotions warring, and slid the window open wider. He climbed in carefully, standing a respectful distance away, hands fidgeting at his sides.
โWhat is it? More lies?โ you asked, arms crossed protectively.
โNo. The truth. All of it.โ He took a shaky breath, eyes locked on yours, vulnerable in a way that made your resolve waver. He told you about the spider bite on that Oscorp tripโhow it changed everything overnight. The agony of losing his uncle because heโd chosen not to intervene in a mugging. The crushing responsibility of the cityโs safety on his young shoulders. Every disappearance wasnโt neglect; it was him bleeding himself dry to keep peopleโlike youโsafe. The guilt that ate at him after every lie, the way your smile made him want to be normal for just a few hours. โI never wanted this between us. I felt so guilty, every single time. Youโre my world, Y/N. Iโd never leave you for anything. I swear, no more secrets. Not ever.โ
Silence stretched, thick with unshed tears and months of hidden pain. Your heart twistedโanger melting into empathy, love surging through the cracks. He looked so broken, so sincere, standing there in your room with the city humming outside.
You stepped forward slowly. Without a word, you wrapped your arms around him in a fierce hug, burying your face in his chest. His heartbeat thundered against your ear, strong and real. โDonโt do that again, dummy,โ you whispered, voice muffled and thick with emotion. โI was so scared. For you. For us.โ
Juhoonโs arms enveloped you instantly, holding you like you might vanish. A shaky laugh escaped him, relief flooding his frame as he pressed kisses to your hair. โNever again, baby. I promise. Youโre stuck with meโhero and all.โ
You stayed like that for what felt like hours, bodies pressed close, breathing syncing as the tension ebbed. His hand rubbed soothing circles on your back. You pulled back slightly, eyes meeting his. The air shiftedโcharged, His gaze dropped to your lips, then back up, asking silently.
You nodded, barely perceptible.
The kiss began slow, tentative. His lips brushed yours softly at first, tasting of salt and relief, a gentle press that deepened as years of fear and love poured out. You melted into it, hands sliding up to cup his jaw, fingers threading into his hair. Juhoon sighed against you, tilting his head to fit better, the kiss growing warmer, more urgent but still tender. Tongues met in a slow danceโexploring, reassuringโsending sparks through your veins. His hands settled on your waist, pulling you flush against him, the embrace full of quiet passion and promise. Breaths mingled, hearts racing in tandem, the world narrowing to just this moment of connection. It lingered, heated yet controlled, pouring out every unsaid word until you both eased back, foreheads touching, smiling breathlessly.
โForever?โ he whispered, voice husky and full of wonder.
You brushed a thumb over his cheek, heart full. โForever.โ
The city lights continued to glow beyond the window, sirens fading into the night. Whatever tomorrow broughtโvillains, secrets, or ordinary daysโyouโd face it together. Juhoon was yours, mask on or off . And in his arms, everything felt right.

Currently updating my genshin for the 6.7 version and I honestly have no idea who to pull... I want them all.
Citlali would be great for my recently pulled Mavuika, but Sandrone is so cool and could be used for the upcoming region... Wriothesley is finally coming back and I desperately need him, and so is the Shogun, Cyno and Yaemiko. Also I'm poor of primogems bc I couldn't even get all the Temple of Space exploration event rewards
At least I'm getting a new costume for my Charlotte and her c1
I come here because I think I remember you mentioned being from south america right? If not you can just ignore this ๐ฅ I haven't seen anyone in this platform speaking about the earthquakes in venezuela and I thought you may have some information about how can we help since you speak Spanish, I'm not from south america so I don't know about trusted places to donate or send money to
I saw many people spreading awareness about gaza (which is completely understandable and I myself still do) but this struck a cord in my heart because of the devastation these earthquakes caused and I wanted to spread awareness about this as well
Ofc if you do not feel comfortable speaking about this topic I completely understand and I hope you don't take this as if I'm pointing fingers, I just want to help in any way possible ๐ฅน

TRIGGER WARNINGS: PTSD, natural disasters, death, grief and loss, traumatic events, collapse, displacement, child trafficking (discussion only), mentions of fear, panic, and survivor trauma.
์ ๋ต โฏโฏ I actually wanted to make a whole post about this, but I'll take your lovely request (ilysm for this, bless your soul) and talk about it here instead. I wanted to wait until I had enough information before speaking, and now that I do, I can confidently say that I stand with my Venezuelan people.
As someone who survived a devastating earthquake in 2016, which left me with severe PTSD at the age of 12, I know a little of what so many people there are experiencing right now. I know what it's like to jump at every vibration, to be terrified of sleeping indoors, to wait for the next aftershock, and to feel like the ground beneath you can never truly be trusted again, and to desperatly wait for your family members to walk through that door alive. What happened in Venezuela isn't "just another earthquake." On June 24, the country was struck by two extremely powerful earthquakes, a magnitude 7.2 followed just seconds later by a magnitude 7.5. That second quake hit before many people had even processed the first, causing catastrophic damage across northern Venezuela, especially in La Guaira and parts of Caracas. Rescue teams are still searching through collapsed buildings, and the number of victims continues to rise as more people are found. My heart especially aches for the children, because disasters don't only destroy buildings, they leave families separated, people displaced, and children at a much greater risk of exploitation and trafficking. In moments like these, fear and desperation become opportunities for predators, which is why protecting vulnerable people must be just as important as rescue efforts. The picture below you is an actual child/people trafficking disguised as online shop, please take a look at it:
To everyone in Venezuela: your grief is seen, and your fear is valid. And to those who are spending another night outside because they're too afraid to go back into their homes, I hope you know that people around the world are thinking of you. If you've never experienced an earthquake before, please don't tell survivors to "just calm down." Trauma doesn't disappear once the shaking stops, sometimes the hardest part begins afterward. Here are some links that I've seen so far to help.

๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ'๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ i don't want to use y/n in my little silly stories so sorry if that's an inconvinience for you. anyways, this story is actually 3 years old, written back in 2023 when the boys just debuted, but i'll add fun new things (like smau) just to try and see how it goes. also, this chapter was heavily inspired by the but i like you mv of course, iykyk (the scene is kinda obvious). english is not my first language so any kind of feedback would be appreciated, enjoy!
Thin sunbeams reached the face of a young man while he was leaving his college dorm building. It was a beautiful sunny saturday and although staying at home doing absolutely nothing was a veryย appealingย option, the boy, whose name was Leehan, decided to go on a walk towards one of his favorite places on earth.
The murmur of other people's conversations, cars passing by, birds singing... it was a peaceful morning. He decided to take a picture of the scenery before venturing into his destination.ย
Once inside, he looked excitedly at his surroundings. Hallways lined with fish tanks,ย largeย and small, filled with fish of different shapes, colors and types. Words weren't enough to express how happy he was to be there.
He'd beenย passionate aboutย fish since he was a kid, so of course his ideal pet was one. Eversince he saved enough money to buy a fish tank, he'd spent hours investigating every little piece of information to know what was important before buying his first ever fishย two years ago, a beautiful pair of corydoras. He always spent time taking care of them whenever he was free andย wasn'tย doing anything with his friends. He loved staring atย them, watching his 'littleย ones' enjoy his home.
The shop where he bought everything that was needed for them slowly became one of his most frequent and favorite spots. Even the shop owner, Mr. Hwang, a 55 year old man, recognized him and always talked with him when he visited.
At that same store, he wouldย getย new members for his aquatic family that day, and he couldn't have been more excited.
Once inside, he checked theย racks, grabbed more fish food and, with Mr. Hwang, checked some tank filters and other cleaning products for it. The internal filter he bought when he first got his tank was giving him problems lately, so he had ensure his fish could live perfectly, buying a new one. He was really careful with that.
"You know what? I believe I have some internal filters that I haven't stored back in the storage room. They were going to be placed tomorrow, but I'll make an exception for you" said Mr. Hwang. "There must be one that's right for you there"
"Really?" Mr. Hwang nodded. "Thank you " Leehan bowed politely. Meanwhile, they didn't notice that someone else had entered the store.
"Let me go check them. You can search those new fish you told me you wanted to get in the meantime." The older man suggested before walking towards the storage room, hidden behind some curtains at the back of the checkout.
The boy started to look around excitedly. There was nothing more relaxing than spending time admiring the little fish in their tanks, checking every option and also grabbing inspiration for his tank's decoration by looking at the ones displayed at the shop.
He soon noticed one that was swimming in circles, a happy and very colorful cherry barb. He smiled, that one seemed perfect. Then he looked to the tank next to him, where a pair of galaxy rasboras were floating next to a rock. They were beautiful as well, so he made a decision: he'd take those three.
But then, his gaze found something that was definetly not fish. A pair of unknown eyes. Eyesย that belonged to a girl.
He uncounciously took a step away from the fish tank, startled, but without taking his eyes off hers. She broke the eye contact as soon as Mr.Hwang returned from the storage room with some internal filters now spread in the counter.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Hwang?" she asked with a soft tone of voice, but at the same time with a hint of doubt. She was not that tall, with a short and wavy brunette hair that didn't reach her shoulders, dressed casually with a yellow, long-sleeved top and some cargo pants.
"That's me"
"My father, Lee Hyunjae, wanted to hand this over to you" she explained as she left a small box in the counter. Mr.Hwang's eyes widened as soon as he opened it. It was full of fishing baits, and pictures.
"It can't be... Maya, wow, is that you? Your father and I used to be inseparable years ago, before he got his promotion at work and got sent to the United States. Of course, I kept inย touchย with him, but we rarely talked ever since his last visit, when he visited this exact same shop with an adorable three year old girl" he smiled.
"Me?" asked the girl whom the man had called Maya.
"Yes, I remember you well. You still have that little scar next to your right eye, Maya. It doesn't matter if you don't remember me, you were really little". He sighed "Wow, these are the baits we used to use when we went fishing together like, fifteen years ago... Leehan, come take a look".
The boy got closer, feeling a little shy, as Maya was looking at him with a mix of curiosity and surprise.
"Has your father kept fishing, Maya?".
"Yeah, in fact, he even teached me. I have so much fun with him and I learn so much about fish, they fascinate me just as much as they do him" she smiled, and Leehan's heart skipped a beat. "We're also planning to go to Busan next summer to go fishing together. We've never tried there".
"Good, good. You'll love it" said Mr. Hwang, proud.
"He's also told me to tell you that now that we're back to Korea, he wanted to meet up with you. Unfortunately, he lost most of his oldest contacts when he recently changed his phone, so his new number is on the back of the picture."
"That's great to hear" he smiled, checking it. Leehan could now see a glimpse of some beautiful mountains, a shiny lake and two men sitting next to each other, talking happily with their fishing rods in the water as the picture was taken. "By the way, Leehan, take a look at these filters. I specially like this brand" he pointed out the one that was closer to him, not forgetting that he was attending a costumer before the girl arrived.
After a few seconds checking it, Leehan said "I think it's perfect, thanks Mr.Hwang."
"Did you find any fish you liked?" the boy nodded "Great, let's grab them then".ย He stepped out from behind the counter, approaching the girl first. "Thank you so much for stopping by, Maya. I hope I can see you more often now that you guys are back. I'll contact your father, but tell him he knows where he cand find me."
Maya smiled nervously, then waved goodbye. "I'll make sure to tell him, see you soon" she said as she left the store, but Leehan kept staring until there was no sight of her. That was... unexpected, but in a surprisingly good way, he thought.
"I did not expect this, really" Mr.Hwang commented as he took his extraction equipment. "What a joy to be able to see an old friend again". He moved to the fish tanks, and Leehan pointed the three he liked. "Now that I remember, how's freshman year been treating you boy?
"Well, college's been good. Though I'll soon start my first important exams of the year and I'll have to put in a lot of effort".
"You'll do great kid. The few times you talked about those psychology stuff you were learning you sounded pretty smart, believe me." They both laughed at that. Psychology had been Leehan's career choice, after a path full of doubt and different options in high school. He decided to give it a try after friends and family recommendations, and also after checking some books about it. It caught his attention, and luckily, he was having fun learning more about it.
Leehan paid for theย filter, the foodย and his new fish. "Thank you, and have a nice day."
"Same for you. See you soon!"
He left the store, excited with the new aquatic family members he carried with him, and found the girl from before. Maya was checking her phone as she was leaning agaisnt a parked yellow bicycle. She noticed his presence and looked at him, waved while she stored her phone in one of the pockets of her pants and left the street as soon as she sat on the bicycle.
Once she had walked away, a thought struck LeeHan and swept through every corner of his mind.
That girl liked fish. Like, fish as a subject, as a topic of conversation, as a hobby probably.
He felt a sudden flush rise to his cheeks. He was... blushing... over a girl who happened to like fish, just as he did.
He blinked several times, stunned by the situation and the sensations that had started to stir within him.
Maybe it's worth blushing over her, he thought, as he started walking home.
