@brrtchu Character redesign for thier OCs Achoo the Flying Fox

When I first saw Achoo and read his description, I was like "Wow he kind of sounds like a very smug asshole. Very cunty, if you will." So I decided to lean into that with a spatial expression and posture. Giving him that typical anime smug princess vibe. I gave him a color palette that invoked his namesake a little bit, that being one of cold and ice. Another detail I added was giving him a red nose! Like the ones you get when you're sick. I really like his pretty eyes and how they looked so, I made them a lot prettier and added some more of that icy blue to his face and also made it his eye color.

For his clothing, I wanted to give him a very high-class winter aesthetic. They mention him having powers, so to tie into his name and why he would always be wearing winter clothes, Is that he can drop the temperature around him to create ice. However, he's not completely immune to his own powers which leads to him needing to wear warmer clothes. And a reason for the red nose!

Maybe his friend, Bless Yu, could work as a sister. I was thinking of twins. Achoo drops the temperature and freezes everything and Bless Yu can manipulate ice and water but can't create it. This would also highlight their connection with their names and give them more of a "dynamic duo" partner feel.

They mentioned he was very tech-savvy and did a lot of security work. Mentioning he is a security disabler. However, I think that it could be interesting if he was actually the one making security systems. And his twin sister, Bless Yu, would act more like security.

So I thought Achoo, along with Bless Yu, could be an antagonist for Rouge. They work in a lot of the security detail and security programming for a lot of high-end places. Museums, Corporations, banks, etc. Places that Rouge steals from. This can create a rivalry between the twins and Rouge. Their reputation is slowly being dragged through the mud because Rouge keeps breaking through their security. Having to make them try a lot harder than they usually do.

Another Sonic OC redesign for @brrtchu. This time, Startle the Salamander! Boo!

-Notes-

I thought Startle was very cute from the moment I saw her. A very jumpy and scared salamander girl? Adorable. The first thing I changed was the gem on her forehead, which was stated to glow in the dark. So I Just straight up turned it into bioluminescence on her body. Replacing the gem on her forehead with a magical-looking sigil. I gave her a much darker color palette, similar to a lot of real-life bio-luminescent salamanders and newts. I also didn't know if her left eye was scarred or if that was just the expression she was making. So, I made it so one of her eyes is just actually scarred and she's blind in that eye.

It was stated that for most of her life, she's been hiding from monsters that roam in her swamp, living in a hut in said swamp. So I wanted to have her look like she lives in a swamp. Giving her more of a "bayou witch" kind of vibe, with her outfit. The prop that she's holding in the original image is her single salt lantern with a flame inside that never gets enough out. I traded in the simple rod for more of a big witch staff. I replaced the salt lantern with something I thought would be a bit more interesting. The lantern itself is not actually a lantern, it's a cage. To house her pet fire wisp. Her only friend. I thought this would give a cooler reason as to why the flame never goes out, it's a living creature, and tie it more into the world of Sonic.

Remember how I said it was mentioned that she hides from monsters in her swamp and she's very cautious? I also thought what if she IS the monster. Because of her overly cautious and skittish nature, She's very highly antisocial. She lives in the swamp away from everyone else. The "monsters" in her swamp are nothing more than her using her fling wisp to make large fiery monsters that she uses to scare off people who get too close. And for those who wish to harm her swamp? Third-degree burns are the least of their worries.

I'm doing another redesign video for OCs! I'll be choosing another couple for the next video.

Okay, so, I don’t know If I’ll make it to the list (which is completely fine) but I’m actually in a design crisis with my characters. And I wanna see if there’s some kind of improvements or changes I could do based off of your advice! You can choose one of the two options :

First one : Achoo The Flying Fox; Achoo is a male bat. What else is there to say? He likes to tease people and make snarky reactions but really makes the light in all things. His best friend is also a Flying Fox called Bless Yu. She has to put up or agree with Achoo’s antics. Achoo is a technology officer and security disabler(?), looking at him, he doesn’t look tech savvy because he’s the goofiest/sassiest person in the room.

Second option : Startle The Salamander; Don’t actually startle her! She’s very jumpy and cautious but not shy to say the least. She has a gem on her forehead, following along with lines across the back of her body and tail. These parts glow in the dark. For most of her life, she lived in hiding from monsters that roam in her swamp. Her only refuge is her hut and a single salt lantern with a flame inside that never gets snuffed out. When you get to know her, she’s very pleasant until you get on her bad side.
