I think this guy is a Carolina mantis. I found him in Maryland.

Cool slime mold. I think it is Reticularia lycoperdon. It is a very shiny silver, slightly spongy, and about 2" across.

Dung beetle in action. These little critters are so important and barely noticed. So here is a dung beetle appreciation post for all their hard work keeping our world clean. Video is my own.

I love jumping spiders. They always look so worried and eager to please you. He brought me the bug he just caught.

I always see flying ants around but usually miss the new queens. This one had a lot of suitors.

You can rarely have too many bugs, but this pile of ants comes close. The photo doesn’t even show half of them.

For some reason every daffodil in my garden has a tiny spider on it. I don’t know the species, but they are here every spring on the day the flowers open.
