The first time he remembers him, he was amazing, brilliant, a beacon of light of a doomed Revolution, sharp, steadfast. He could see into his mind like it was made of glass, and he didnāt love him back.
His lips curled into that smirk of his, and God he was so in love.
āLove, Miong?ā he asked, voice cold, nearly laughing at the mere mention of the word, but his heart leapt to his throat and the world oh so gently slowed to a quiet halt. A pause, in the tumultuous cacophony of war, of pain, of unrequited love.
He put on a smile on his face, fake, the both of them knew, and he nodded.
āLove,ā he replied simply. āSimple as that.ā
āOh, my dear President,ā the telepath laughed, nearly snide, āThereās no such thing as love.ā
The paralytic crushed the petal in his hands.
āThere is only foolishness.ā
The next time, he was broken, tired beyond recognition, fleeing for his life despite his brain screaming for him not to, and the rose on his wrist was the deepest, most beautiful blue. The blue of the ocean surrounding home, and he loved him back.
āMiong,ā his smile was warm, and on his wrist, the wretched blue was fading away steadily, like the march of footsoldiers to the beat of a drum, heading into battle. It was giving way to a beautiful, brilliant red, and it made him so happy to see it growing into a warmer colour. āWhat are you looking at?ā
āYour rose,ā he answered honestly, thumbing at the thin skin underneath the rose, half-wilted black, half-brilliant blue-to-red-purple, and smiled. āIām just⦠so happy itās turning.ā
āWell,ā his laughter sounded like the clinking of crystal glass, āItās a first for me, I have to say.ā
He only hummed in acknowledgement.
āHowever,ā the paralytic sighed warmly. āI canāt say Iām glad this is happening to me.ā
āMe too.ā
He remembers the lifetimes where they grew up together the fondest, youth spent together from the dawn of childhood to the high noon of adulthood, and the twilight to death, peaceful like still water, gentle like forest zephyrs in the summertime.
āAnd then you take a left as youāre coming out of FC, and you should be able to get to CAL.ā The paralytic young man chuckled as the youngerāa freshman, freshly thrown into college lifeāsquinted suspiciously at the makeshift map heād drawn at the back of his filler notebook.
āWait, wait, how do you get to Katag?ā
āYou go inside FC, and thenāā
āNo, like, what route do you have to take inside FC?ā
The older raised an eyebrow at him, and gestured at the line he drew through the map.
āUh, Pole, I donāt get it.ā
The paralytic blinked at him for a moment, and burst out in laughter. āYou know what. Iāll just go with you there. Whatever. Itās likely weāll free cut on the first day, anyway.ā
āIām so sorry, oh my God,ā
āNo, itās fine,ā his voice was kind, it always, always was, and thatās what made him fall in love this hard. āDo you have anything else to ask me?ā
āUh, yeah. Whatās⦠TBA?ā
He took a moment to blink at him, and just suddenly burst out laughing. The younger man blushed, and spluttered, and he shook his head, sighing fondly.
āOh, Miong,ā he chuckled, wiping at his eyes. āNever change.ā
He never did.
Meeting as adults always made him more discerningācareful, and more guarded. He didnāt fall in love as easily, never playing along with his countless bad ideas, never the fragile thing he always looked like, and yetāhe loved him anyway. Despite all that. Despite everything.
It was like he was making up for the lifetimes they never met, or one didnāt exist, or the ones they just barely met. He hated those. He preferred the ones where he killed him.
Ganito pala, huli niyang naisip.
Ganito pala ang magmahal ng demonyo.
Tama ang mga Bernal. Tama sila, mula noon hanggang ngayon. Tanga ang hindi nakinig sa kanila.
Edi oo, tanga siya.
Tangang-tanga sa pag-ibig.
When all was said and done, heād do anything for him.
The cat hissed at anyone ever trying to come near him, haunches raised, claws out with flattened ears standing up best they could.
He bit their hand, and he was sorry, but he had someone precious he needed to protect.
Polā
Every time they met, every lifetime they spent with their life-lines intersecting, asymptoting, living in parallel, joining in additive waves, he always wonderedā
Is this the last time?
āGeneral Aguinaldo, where is the Ambassador?ā the paralytic heaved, vibro-blade held in nimble hands, downing another Stormtrooper assailant. āThe First Order has us all corneredāwe have to make sure heās safe!ā
āI have to make sure you are too!ā he argued, picking up the Galactic Senator, earning him a shout of protest as the vibroblade clattered to the floor in a thunderous bang.
āGeneral!ā
āI will not lose you here, Senator Mabini!ā he yelled, with more force than heād like to have mustered, and the senator gaped at him. āNot here⦠not now.ā His voice weakened, and the older manās face fell, but he couldnāt say a thing, when they both heard the boots of Stormtroopers approaching.
āGeneral Luna has him in his sights the last time I saw him,ā he said anyway, to reassure the man as he began to run. They ran past General Organaās Resistance soldiers hurrying past them to fight, and they only shared curt nods before he hurried along. āSo please, donāt worry.ā
He jogged into an empty hallway, and he felt arms wrap around his neck.
āThank you, Miong,ā the senatorās voice was soft, shaky, and he only nodded.
He hated having to hide like this.
Was that really him?
āWingardium Leviosa.ā The paralytic looked absolutely stone-serious as he lifted the feather, and his gut turned at the sight.
He looked amazing, this time around.
(Was that reallyā?)
And the worst questionāthe one he hated ever finding the answer to:
Was he perfectly happy without him?
He paused in his footsteps to look at the coffin being carried down the hill across him as he rode his horse in the streets, the clip-clop of its hooves fading into background noise as realisation sank in his gut.
Him. In there.
Regret, disappointment, and pain flooded his heart.
(Did he at least have a happā)
Every single time his heart tore, and burned, and broke, and bent, he never blamed him. He knew he would never match up to the light the man exuberatedāwith the intensity of a supernova, of twin suns, of a scattering solar flare across the galaxy, with clarity of light scattered through diamonds cut to the most accurate lines and planes of symmetry.
āSenyor Mabini.ā
āSenyor Presidente.ā
The man looked at the paralytic, and wondered if heād made a mistake.
(It was only fair, that he would be the oneā)
And they shook hands, and he knew. He remembered.
(The one to chase him, across ten, twenty-five, a hundred lifetimes.)
He loved this man. In the previous lives, in the current one, in the ones to come.
(Across the cosmos, across the stars, the fabric of space and time, and the rhinestones of galaxies across the silk of void and nebulae and black holesāheāll find him, until he finds the lifetimeā)
The older man smiled at him.
(Until he found the one where heāll return to him.)

warnings for landi and fluff. also cute-ass quezmena because youāre worth (give it to me iām worth it tettenenetet)
āSergio OsmeƱa, you, very literally, are the brightest damper in my life.ā
āCharmed, Iām assured.ā
The infamous Golden Boy grinned back at him, pushing down the book he was reading to replace the droll of Tolstoyās War and Peace in tiny Times New Roman in slightly-smudged ink from the press. It was hard not to mirror the way Quezon beamed at him over his book, and soon, there was the tiniest hint of a smile tugging at OsmeƱaās lips.
āIāve missed you.ā Quezonās voice was warm, and he plucked the book right out of OsmeƱaās hands to peer at with squinted peeved-out eyes. āYouāre still the bookworm I know, I see. Jesus.ā
āAnd youāā OsmeƱa took his book back, dog-eared it (and tried not to laugh at how offended Quezon looked) and put it aside. āAre still as arrogant as ever.ā
The two of them shared a momentās silence, twin smiles spreading before OsmeƱa shook his head, and stood up right in time as Quezon spread his arms for a hug. The two hugged each other warmly for a moment, laughing, and when they pulled apart, the older man gripped his arms firmly.
āSo.ā OsmeƱa chuckled, āWhat did you come dragging me here in the first place, Nonong?ā
The nickname rolled off his tongue so easily, and like magic, the senator in front of him reverted back to that insufferably affectionate law school student in a blink of an eye. OsmeƱa missed those days, when he was just Serging and Quezon was just Nonong, and there were no Americans to muck their world all up like this.
āIāve got a proposition for you.ā
The smirk was there, and OsmeƱa knew the best response was to trust him absolutely completely, but damned if he wasnāt going to make Quezon fight for it first.
āThere you go again,ā he chuckled, and Quezonās smile widened. He already knew OsmeƱa was on board with him.
āI want you to run with me.ā
Oh, well. That was new.
The hydrokinetic paused to blink at him, but Quezon was smiling that same stupid smile from then, back in law school, until now.
It was the smile that told him ātrust me,ā and it was the one OsmeƱa would trust without a second thought, without the weight of any doubts.
He was probably going to regret this, but he was also going to love every single moment of this.
āRun with you where?ā
He wasnāt even going to bother asking why.
Quezon grinned.
āIām taking that as a yes.ā
OsmeƱaās laugh felt like itād been punched out of his chest, but the swelling of his heart was something of a completely different issue.
āOh, why the hell not.ā He replied. āTake my hand and lead me there. Run.ā
You clever, clever boy.
āWhen you said run, Nonong, I honestly thought you meant you were going to kidnap me and fly me off to another galaxy or something.ā
Quezon laughed, and patted his cheek. āMaybe in the next life.ā
āYou made it sound so romantic too. Run with me. Run for presidency with me. God, why do I trust you?ā
The older man laughed discreetly, hand tight over his mouth, and the Mapalad wanted to smack him upside the head.
Well, time to bring back old habits, OsmeƱa reasoned.
When the man leaned in to lean against him, he flicked his wrist, and the water in his goblet flew into his face. The splash was tiny, barely audible to anyone else but them, but Quezonās indignant gasp was, catching the attention of all the people in the press conference. Across them Aguinaldo stopped talking mid-sentence of a response a reporter just asked him, mouth still hanging open in mild surprise.
āSorry,ā Quezon drawled, and under the table, he pinched OsmeƱa, who was shaking with laughter. āHyper-healing doesnāt quite cover erratic-hydrokinesis-partner-bloopers.ā He grinned, charming and glib-tongued as always, and the reporters laughed.
Oh, Quezon, ever the crowd charmer.
That merited another glass of water to Quezonās face, this timeāborn out of childish immaturity and spite rather than anything elseāout of Aguinaldoās glass of water.
The sudden wall of metal between the three of them was hilarious, in hindsight, and while Aguinaldoās mug of water was now on the floor, reporters laughing brightly at something Quezon said again, OsmeƱa wasnāt going down without a fight.
Or a splash.
āAy, putāā
āAnd thatās enough from you, Golden Boy.ā He simply said. āI think this press conās over and done with.ā
Quezon gaped at him, and OsmeƱa simply smiled at him coolly.
āSonuvabiāā
Splash. And Aguinaldoās running mate was now missing water in his glass as well. āBehave.ā
āIām not a cat.ā Quezon pouted, petulant, but then he grinned, and slung his arm around OsmeƱaās shoulders. āBut. I miss you being like this.ā He warmly said, and his hand was hot when he patted OsmeƱaās shoulder.
There was a moment, albeit a brief one, where they were both Nonong and Serging again, alone together and studying, and then the click and flash of a camera shook them out of their reverie. Quezon grinned, and jabbed his thumb over his shoulder.
āLetās get out of here.ā He said, and OsmeƱa didnāt need to be told twice.
āYouāve had five shots now, Nonong, you need to stop.ā
āYouāre not my wife.ā
OsmeƱa scoffed. āI might as well be.ā
Quezon stopped, halfway through trying to get the whiskey OsmeƱa was controlling to end up in his glass to look at him.
ā⦠Are you?ā he asked quietly, and OsmeƱa, unaware of Quezonās sudden stop in favour of concentrating on the whiskey he was currently making do infinity-loops above Quezonās head, shrugged.
āIām with you day and night. Putting up with your shenanigans with sprays of water every day during this campaign, I think I merit your hand in marriage.ā
āSo youāre married to me, is that it?ā
āI think Iāve made that clear enouāā
Then there were suddenly lips on his. He tasted like tobacco, like the whiskey heād been drinking. The bagnet heād had brought over as a terrible idea of a bad joke. He tasted like the afternoon sky, orange fading to passionate red, to royal purple. He was spice and sweetness, nicotine and tar, and cheese and leche flan dinner dessert.
He was so damn strange, goddamnit.
He loved it.
They parted, and there was a stain on the floor, made by the whiskey, in a figure eight, and when theyād parted, Quezon stole the shotglass of whiskey from OsmeƱaās hand, grinning as he downed it.
āWhat wasā¦ā
āThanks, babe.ā The man winked at him, and the Mapalad flushed deeply.
āNoāwait, that wasāā
āIāve known youāve had a crush on me for the longest time.ā Quezon replied quickly. āSince law school, Iām guessingāā fuck, he was good at this guessing game, āAnd, itās a miracle you havenāt noticed mine for ages.ā
āWaitāfor ages?ā
āKeep up, Serging,ā Quezonāno, Nonongāwinked at him. āIām in love with you. Thatās why I asked you to run with me.ā
This manās logic came in leaps and bounds, good God.
OsmeƱa laughed, shaking his head, and leant against him.
āYou damn fool.ā He sighed.
āYour damn fool.ā
āWhen this is all over, youāre owning up that youāre notāā
āYeah, I know.ā Quezon nodded, voice now quiet. āWhen we wināā
āIf we win,ā
āWhen we win. Iāll say it as the first presidential proclamation. Iām going to get rid of that law.ā
OsmeƱa smiled gently at that.
āI believe in you.ā He replied softly. āYouāll be the best president there is.ā
Quezon looked at him, and chuckled.
āAnd youāll be my best vice.ā
āVice president, or vice without virtue?ā
Quezon smirked. āCan I have both?ā
OsmeƱaās answer was a splash of water to his face, and Quezon simply laughed.
āGive me a proper answer!ā he demanded cheekily.
born: August 19, 1878 (Baler, Tayabas)
died: August 1,1944 (Saranac Lake, New York)
Commonwealth president. His father, Lucio, was a schoolteacher in Paco, Manila. His mother taught him to read and write Spanish at age five. Two years later he was taught Latin, religion, geography, and Spanish grammar by their parish priest, Fr. Teodoro Fernandez. Quezon was handsome, and his Spanish blood was so obvious that people referred to him asĀ āAng Kastilaā (The Spaniard). He completed his A.B. Degree at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in 1894. Tended to his mother when she was dying of Tuberculosis. He enrolled at the University of Santo Tomas, where he took up law. When the Philippine-American war broke out, he volunteered in the Philippine Army as a second lieutenant. Served as aide to General Emilio Aguinaldo. Later he was sent to Bataan to serve under General Tomas Mascardo. He started his career in politics by running for governor in 1905, and won a seat in the Philippine Assembly as a member of the newly formed Nacionalista Party. Quezon opposed to the Payne-Aldrich Act of 1909, a trade bill which favored U.S. goods over Philippine products. He became one of the Philippine Commissioners to Washington, D.C., and remained in the U.S. for nearly eight years. In 1916 he secured the passage of a law, sponsored by Rep. William A. Jones of Virginia, which established the Philippine Senate as the upper house of the legislature. He defeated Sergio OsmeƱa as president of the upper house in 1922. In the late 1920s Quezon began to receive treatment for his tuberculosis (contracted from his mother). He returned to Washington in 1933 to transform the Hawes-Hare-Cutting Bill, which had the the support of OsmeƱa and Manuel A. Roxas, into the Tydings-McDuff Act (passed in March, 1934), which set a ten-year timetable for Philippine Independence. He was elected president of the Commonwealth on September 17, 1935. Following the Japanese invasion, Quezon and OsmeƱa set up a government-in-exile in the U.S., May 1942. Quezonās health worsened, and he died in Saranac Lake less than three weeks before his 66th birthday.

Also chapter 4 is sad.

Dusk 03.
The seƱora fell asleep against her bosom after sheād helped her calm her down. The sun was setting, the sky orange in the distance, and it reminded her of Del Pilarās rose. It left a sinking sensation in her gut not unlike stones in a river, and quietly she tucked her mistress into bed, before shuffling outside.
Her throat felt parched, like sheād hadnāt a drop of water for ages. Sheād picked up the parasol she hit Del Pilar with on her way out, and it sat like a heavy metal pipe in her hand. Luisa shut the door quietly behind her, uttering a barely-audible, āSleep well, seƱora,ā before she pressed her back to the door to close her eyes.
She drew in a deep, shaking breath, and began to sob. She buried her face in her hands, trembling the worst since sheād learned of Manuelās death, and slid to the floor, burying her sobs as best as she could in her knees as she hugged them tight. It was good the children werenāt around to see this. Imagine the hell that would have been.
She hiccuped, and just let the tears flow, biting hard down on the cloth of her skirt.
Del Pilar had nearly done something unforgivable again. He would have played with Juliana first, and then he would have killed her, and itād be the same thing all over again for Luisa. Grief. Pain. Loss. Sheād had enough of it.
Here it is @bukkun-moonsin and @hotaryu. The next chapters will be longer.
Chapter 1:
Ā Ā Ā Ā A soldier of the Kawit brigade was trying to inch away, a futile attempt at survival. His torso was riddled with gunshots, the pain of it was too much that he had grown numb to it. The dirt beneath him was stained with his blood. He tasted his own blood as it trickled out of his nose ā it was bitter iron on his taste buds. There were varying shades of red ranging from bright crimson to deep carnelian. In front of him was the man who was going to end his life.
Ā Ā Ā Ā āYouāre a monsterā the bleeding soldier choked out.
Ā Ā Ā Ā āOnly on the insideā Joven smiled.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Then he cocked the gun and pulled the trigger. The bullet went straight through the Cavitenoās skull. That gunshot was the period that ended the soldierās story. More blood flowed out of the new hole and to think, he used to feel uneasy at the sight of blood. The darkness sure changes a lot in you.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āAfter all, so were you with what youād done to the heneral and the koronel. I let you have the choice of what your last words would be, but you wasted them on hypocrisyā Joven continued.
Ā Ā Ā Ā After one last check of the gruesome scene and an inspection of his clothes to confirm no pieces of evidences were left, it was time to go home.

Day 03.
The house was quiet this morning. With the children out with Luisa, chores were finished quicker. Just in time for lunch.
And for Del Pilar, he had to act fast before anything else could happen to prevent him from talking. Childrenās letters in hand, he knocked on the master bedroomās door.
āGinang?ā
He had readied his belongings prior, and his uniform was clean and crisp on his shoulders. Even the brooches were not forgiven as she had polished them, just as she was used to when Paco stayed at home. Del Pilar held his hat under his armpit, waiting for her to answer.
āCome in, general.ā
He opened the door and approached her, his steps as slow and steady as his heart. He had two nights to prepare, after all. Bad news was not new to him as a soldier of the Revolutionary Government, and it reminded him of his own predicament. He dealt with his loss like he would any death, just with more remorse and and even more regret. He thought his rose would change color that night, but Ruscaās words made him decide. He should be strong for him, for them. He needed that strength. Juliana needed it. And he would lend his strength to her like he promised Rusca.
She was wiping the picture frame with RomĆ”nās first photograph wearing his uniform. He knew because she told him the first night he slept here. And she was looking at RomĆ”n so lovingly like they were married just yesterday. She turned to Del Pilar. He swallowed.

Night 02.
If he were in charge of this household, Del Pilar really wouldnāt let Juliana do any more chores. But she insisted in washing his uniform to make up for his kind deeds the day before. She still even couldnāt look him straight in the eye because her screams roused him from his sleep last night. He held her in his arms as her tears poured endlessly from her heart, her nightmares full of blood and gunshots and images of a dead husband.
All the more Del Pilar couldnāt break the news.
Instead, he spent time with the RomƔn children where Juliana did her laundry at the nearby river bank. Carmen was very fond of him, while Juan asked him about life in the camps and his travels. And of course, Kuya Eduardo.
The kids are worried about you, Dodong. If only you could see them. If only talking about you wasnāt as painful.

Greg is the Bearer of Bad News but Heās Still Trying to be a Good Boy feat. Issa Knows All and Jules Deserves Better
(The Origin Story of JulIssa, and that "missing scene" from Zingiberaceae.)
A collaborative effort of myself and mareng @dettsu, brought to life, finally, after days of screaming at each other, screenshots and the ( ͔° ĶŹ ͔°) emoji.
(Also titled: Bad News Greg, and The Long and Tedious Set-Up We Have To Make Before Unleashing the Hell That is JulIssa feat. Radyo Langit⢠and its DJ's DJ Pacomoko and DJ Mamwellgoddamnit.)
2016 breaks a lot of things for me. And one of them--is the vow of absolutely no nsfw. Have fun, kids.Ā but you will still never get me to write nsfw mabinaldo, ever. sorry. i canāt somehow write them having the sex. sorry po.Ā
Hello, friends! @bukkun-moonsin and I collaborated on a thing for her original Rose AU work (I cannot tag her for some reason lol) and a list of headcanons became a chapter and a chapter became a 10-page intro to something we didnāt expectĀ ( ͔° ĶŹ ͔°) But well, here we are!Ā
Warnings include us trying to keep these people in character without sacrificing important plot lines, dubcon (but it depends if we go around it properly pls pray that we do haha), and some gay near the end of the whole work.
These extra chapters center on Goyongās redemption arc of sorts, as he tries to fulfill Ruscaās last wish. He travels on horseback to Cagayan, to tell Pacoās wife what happened in Cabanatuan. (Link to the tag!)
Night 01.Ā
It was quite a windy afternoon in Alcala. But despite that, Del Pilar took his hat off and wiped the sweat off his forehead, his rose petals swaying in the wind and shivering in the cold. He had been travelling for days on horse, accompanied by a small group of ten, assigned once again to deliver news. Bad news.
āCol. Francisco Velasquez RomĆ”n was killed in Cabanatuan 7 days ago. In⦠action? While protecting Lunaā¦? How do I⦠hmm.ā
The young general rehearsed the lines in his head. He personally had to make sure the late colonelās wife should be able to take the news, Rusca asked him to. Along with the favor were some trinkets and a letter for the kids. The kapitan had promised to visit and play soon. He needed to apologize for another broken promise.
(But then again, Rusca was dead. What was sure of a promise falling heard on dead ears?)
āThe things you do for love,ā Del Pilar whispered. Heād be a liar if he said he never read Ruscaās letter. It was a long travel and he was curious. Promises of traveling the hacienda by horse and playing by the river near the RomĆ”n household were only a few of the listed things the children wanted to do. He wondered if Rusca would be like that towards his own kids, not that he would have kids. He shook his head at the thought.
āHeneral, I think weāve arrived at the correct house.ā
How the Bernal Brothers celebrate the New Year! c/o Twitter Roleplayers š
Bakit ang cute ng Twitter Rpers.
I love the part where Manuel prefers to watch his little bro. have fun such a Kuya thing to do.
Makes me wish I had a big bro.
Note to my big sis:
I know that you know & read my tumblr page.
maraming, maraming salamat talaga.
akala niyo fanfic ano 8)))))
Ngayon akoāy may sariling isip, sariling karakter at mg opinyon, akoāy natuto.
At: pahuling sabi--
Ika ko nga lagi,Ā āTita loves you.āĀ
