I can’t believe “estaba quesuda” is a thing that would ever be said in a US American TV show.
Alba estaba quesuda. Alba said so in the show. She really did. What a moment to be alive.

I stopped by the stage door today (because my hope of seeing Lin will never die) and only Daveed came out, out of the ones from the original cast. He keeps being as beautiful and charming as I remember. Such a sweetheart. The crowd was much bigger than back in January and he still made his way down the line and took pictures with every one.
However, the weirdest part of the night was when we heard a commotion on the street and it turned out to be Phillipa and her boyfriend, trying to catch a cab (?), when people with cameras started mobbing them and literally had them running off. I’m still kind of confused.

Hamilton ramblings
I saw Hamilton on Wednesday and god, it was everything I expected it to be. Days before my show, I had been a bit disappointed because Leslie Odom Jr was taking a break from the role all that week, but at the end, it didn’t really matter because Sydney James Harcourt was amazing as Burr. Everyone was amazing, really, their voices are just as great as in the recording, the acting, the staging... Daveed Diggs is hilarious as Jefferson, he was the highlight of the musical for me (and I do think I developed a crush after seeing him at the stage door). And I teared up when I looked at Lin taking a bow with the rest of the cast because I was just so in awe at seeing him live, such a role model.
And wow, people aren’t kidding when they talk about it being a phenomenon: the first day I happened to pass by Mercer St. and while geeking out to my friend about it, a random girl started talking to me about the musical. Then the next day my banker was genuinely impressed I had a ticket and later, another person couldn’t believe I was going to see it, lol. I also did the lottery because why not and it’s so much fun. tl;dr Shit, I still can’t believe I saw it and with (most of) the original cast. I was a ball of anxiousness up until I got into the threater.
Aaron Burr: And while we're talking, can I offer you some free advice?
Aaron Burr: c h i l l
This is better than a telenovela everyone is so extra I love it
“Simplemente no quedó bien” and I’m here living for this, I can’t
Some kiseki from that ova
“What’s false conciousness?” asked Ron curiously. I knew he would be more open to communist ideas because he was part of the proletariat, whereas Hermione was part of the bourgeois intelligentsia.
“False conciousness is when people think communism is bad, ” I explained. “Since communism is good, it means they’re obviously insane.”
“Harry, are you a communist?” asked Hermione in a quiet voice. I could tell she was scared, probably of losing her private property.
it doesn’t matter how many shows I watch none of them will let me down like Glee let me down

Last drawing post of the year!
Excited to jump over and help out storyboarding on the film Moana for a couple of weeks! Here’s a drawing of the insanely talented Lin Manuel-Miranda that I did awhile back during a notes session.
So president Maduro was reading tweets on live television and one of them basically amounted to “suck a dick” - and he read it before he could catch himself. So he made this face.
I just need to get all my Hamilton references out of the way now that the results are mostly out... So it’d be something like:
The World Turned Upside Down [for Maduro, Diosdado & Co.]
I am not throwing away my shot [and neither did Venezuela]
Tomorrow there’ll be more of us, telling the story of tonight [99 - 46, hell yes]
[Venezuelans] wonder alike if this really means freedom - Not. Yet.
Just you wait!
And so on. This musical has taken over my life.
In the last presidential election here I cried because I was underage and couldn’t vote. It was absolutely awful how impotent I felt, because I couldn’t help to build the country I hoped for. Today I finally voted for the first time and let me tell you, without having delusions of grandeur, I made a difference. Me and all the people of my age who had their hands tied while watching things go from bad to worse. Finally, we can start from somewhere now.
