Just some art of characters Iāve been musing on lately. Long character dump ahead, because I can :3333
Amari has been devoted to the queen for forty years. She is the one who brokers the deals in the middle of the night and has her fingers in every political pie in the kingdom. Her political prowess and stealth has earned her the nickname of the Fly on the Wall.
Blood begets war,
So stand at attention and bear the brunt of the attacks,
Swing heavy in defense,
Endure the crack of thunder and your bones.
Taste the iron and copper against your skin,
So that children may run through this field of flowers,
At the behest of your reaching arm,
So that they may dance upon the shoulders of those before them.
At your behest.
Oh, how honored is the head that bears the crown
Since the moment she has inherited the crown, Kral Shandella has embraced her duty. She has been in charge of the Sklith kingdom for decades, and so on the surface, she has the backbone to make sacrifices for her peopleās safety. That poem was what she aspired to be. She was honored to bear the weight of the crown.
But when war breaks out between the Sklith kingdom and the Ziphora, Shandellaās children were the first to die. The responsibility of the throne fell to her last child, someone who was never meant for ruling. So Shandella declares war and her favorite poem, her creed has its meaning change completely. Itās no longer about what she can do for her people, about children having a bright future because of what she sacrificed. Itās about what she has done, about the Ziphora and Sklith that will die because she made this choice. And that last sentence twists inside of her, turning from sincere to bitter. Because how honored is she to bear the weight of the crown?
I LOVE MY CHARACTERS AAAA. Even though I have more stuff on Shandella, Amari has seeped into my brain. I have so much drama involving them and Dellaās husband. And their children. And their backstory. Gahhhgh.

The guy sitting alone is Jack Jetson. Heās pretty popular, but he has that nasty feeling that no one actually knows him and heās truly alone. (Thereās also angsty backstory that Iāll spare the details, ahaha.)
Just some character creation for one of my guys, Sally (Salvador).
Heās basically immortal, so heās been around for a long time. But theyāre not lonely. He makes friends with basically everyone he meets. His room is filled to the brim with letters from friends, trinkets from his travels, or pictures of memories he wants to remember.
I decided to start my new year by 1) entering a state of perpetual eepydeepiness and 2) going feral and designing characters for something I may never write!
But itās ok, because the child who is totally not going to end up an antagonist later on (distant maniacal laughter), his sister who is the moral compass of the family (oh no theyāre all doomed!), and the āmaniac whoās gonna get us all killed one dayā shall live in my head forever
Talyn blew a smoke ring into the air. The smoky, ashtray smell had suffused into the entire chamber by this point, despite the open windows on the far side of the room. Even though his nose itched to a noticeable degree, Feldspar resisted the urge to get up and open the windows wider. He was comfortable for the most part, with Talynās head resting against his lap, his rusty curls brushing against the cover of the book Feldspar read.
āYānow,ā Talyn said, āI tried reading your books once.ā
āOh, really? And howād you like them?ā
āCouldnāt understand a sentence.ā Lazy puffs of white smoke drifted towards the ceiling. āEven the dedication was at least eight paragraphs long.ā
āI could always explain.ā
āPlease do. Itāll help me go to sleep.ā
At that moment, Feldspar took upon the mighty effort of not assaulting Talyn with his eight-hundred page anthology on insect nesting habits. After all, a murder of passion would make a terrible mess in his study.
"I am evil incarnate," the dastardly voice said. "I am the blight upon the skin of this world. And I will bring it to its //knees//. Prepare for the End of Days! Your time has come, and the rivers will run with the blood of the innocents!"
Talia sighed. "He's such a drama queen."

MANNNN, l've been listening to the character playlists to get through the dreaded assignments, and LEMME SAY. "Go Tonight" from the Mad Ones reminds me S00000 much of Lillian and Asha. (EVEN THO FLAWS BY BASTILLE FIT THEM BETTER BUT LEMME HAVE THIS OKOK)
I'm really proud of this. It was a very THOUGHT-OUT piece for me :p
