i feel like when it comes to fictives or IRLs using cultural names while in white bodies-- fictives were born with those names. they always existed as "byakuya kuchiki" or "inosuke hashibira." so it's sort of meh on keeping that name. like this person on tiktok who's a white person with an asian name isn't bothered with comments because they were born with it. fictives are "born" with them too.

but with DAs/IRLs, it's a delusion. they weren't BORN as makoto naegi, they came to BE makoto naegi. so it'd be changing your name to an asian name. and that's a little weird.

that's why I'm keeping my name as Equius. i am Kisuke irl but I'm not a Kisuke fictive. I'm an Equius fictive. I wasn't born with the name Kisuke so I won't use it. But I've always been Equius so I'll always go by Equius.
