My first asparagus harvest ever. Can’t wait for the root systems to get more established. Right now it’s their first growth of their second year. If the stories are true I should have more than I can handle in another year or two.

Salad for lunch today.

Sitting down to watch hockey smut and thought a ridiculous caesar make the experience more immersive. So good. Like if a Bloody Mary walked around with her pussy out no fucks given.
So it’s been years since I reached into the very back of the junk drawer. True to name there is much junk but also a few delightful surprises.
Some unexpected highlights include a quick guide for tying knots, a hand sewn face mask, a butterfly knife(?), fresh blades for box cutters and a name tag from a dear friend now long gone.
And now I’m ugly crying.
Anyway, I was trying to do laundry, then started cleaning the fridge which led to making rice and somehow it seemed that digging in the junk drawer was a smart way to pass the time while rice cooked. This is why it in fact takes hours to fold laundry and not actually 10 minutes. Then fuckkng tumblr tax takes several more minutes.
Garlic and more garlic in the garden.
Also bonus elephant garlic which was planted super late because the store was practically giving it away. Not looking bad considering it didn’t go in the ground until December.
Chives are coming up wild. Need to divide them up again.
Ego (Radio Edit)
Still put this one on repeat sometimes. Hypnotic.
@rederiswrites thanks for sharing. You always have great music recs
PROUD TO ANNOUNCE that i will be doing my laundry today. Thank you for all those who helped me get to this point in life #stayhardunlessitsdownysoft
beeen seeing alot of notes of people saying this inspired them to finally do their landry. i am filled with so much emotion that i might finally fold the landry i did a few days ago. maybe
Some of my seedlings so far. Broccoli and Brussels sprouts all took of and I need to thin them but not yet. The tomatoes, eggplants and peppers are pushing up and some of the savory and feverfew.
Spring is here, I’m feeling manic and for the first time in months work isn’t crushing me to death demanding every calorie of energy I have. Ready to start posting again.

American ex-Farm Worker Weighs In
I literally just found this on Youtube. This American farm worker shares my thoughts about forced farm labour and how it is detrimental to farmers.
Short video, worth the watch.
As a farm worker that has worked pretty much all the jobs in my field from the first-day farm hand to upper management I can attest that if a worker doesn’t want to be there you really don’t want them there either. All ethics aside it’s just bad business. Nobody wins. The worker is miserable, their coworkers who DO want to be there don’t want to be around that, their crew lead/manager struggles to accomplish their tasks and the farm itself suffers from poor care.
I really hate the term “unskilled labor”. People who’ve never worked a job considered unskilled seem to think that everyone in these positions are interchangeable cogs in a machine. Not everyone is suited to these jobs and that’s fine. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Goodness knows there are about a million jobs out there that I’m poorly suited to even as a non-disabled/not yet disabled person.
I fluctuate between pissed off and saddened by the lack of respect Americans have for farm workers.
The bees and butterflies are loving the lavender.
For dinner it’s soup and couscous
Hell yes! My first passion flower blossom!
Long day in the garden and it’s much too hot for me. I’m not built for warm weather. So sweaty but I burn too easily to wear anything lighter. (This is about as close as I get to a selfie)
