Introducing: Eccentricity Vector
A couple months ago, my friend Julia and I decided to start Eccentricity Vector - a podcast about Politics, Media, History, and the gravitational pull they have on each other. We discuss tabletop RPGs, politics, movies, television, anime, and how all these topics intersect.
Give us a listen!
Creating interconnected podcast content
Who are we?
Dylan (he/they) - that's me! - has a background in film, but heavily dabbles in all things computer, gaming, media, and politics.
Julia (she/her) is a transgender librarian and former professional game developer who worked on mobile games and ttrpgs. She has a passion for politics and learning why the world is the way it is.
Why make a podcast?
We've created it as a way to document the various conversations we have on such topics to then share it with our friends, with no grand aspirations of making it into a Whole Thing.
If a handful of friends find enjoyment, and it inspires debate and conversation, I'd call that a win.
We have three episodes out currently, with more on the way on topics such as Demon Slayer, the music of the Civilization series, and the Effect of Bingeable Releases.
Ep 1: D&D 5e's Preferred Narrative - What types of stories 5e's mechanics want you to tell, and how that often clashes with what people actually want out of it.
Ep 2: TTRPGs We Like - Two TTRPGs that inspire us: Pathfinder 2e and Dungeon World.
Ep 3: TTRPGs We're Making - Two TTRPGs that we're making: Mantle, a classless power fantasy, and a conversion from classic Pokemon to a TTRPG.
We hope you give it a listen, drop us a follow, and maybe even talk to us about it!
(god knows we love to talk; why else would we start a podcast??)
