ok kids repeat after me
vinegar and bleach makes chlorine gas, which is highly toxic
ammonia and bleach makes chloramine, which is highly toxic
rubbing alcohol and bleach makes chloroform, which is highly toxic
hydrogen peroxide and vinegar makes peracetic/peroxyacetic acid, which can be highly corrosive
be careful about your cleaning products and dont get yourself injured or potentially killed ok
why it so dangerous to be clean
As someone who’s job is to handle chemicals like this, I need to state that this information is IMPORTANT. Plenty of people have accidentally injured or killed themselves at home because they didn’t know what kind of reaction certain substances have with one another. Play it safe and don’t mix chemicals.
Also don’t use bleach to clean up urine it’ll create chloramine bc of the ammonia in it and you can give yourself chemical pnemonia that way
Every time I see “helpful” posts telling people to mix these things while cleaning I cringe with my entire body.
reblogging in this time of heightened interest in disinfectants. please don’t get fancy
Pick one. Stick with that one.
i truly think that this recent trend of “if you relate to a post about a different identity than your own you are ~derailing~ and taking over the conversation” is incredibly harmful.
i recently experienced some pretty severe transphobic abuse in my workplace (children’s home) that included having food thrown at me, being called slurs, being told i was a pervert because i am trans. one of the managers talked with me afterwards and shared that he had had a similar experience as an Asian man. this wasn’t him derailing my experience, or talking over me, or making things about himself. he was communicating “hey, i know how it feels and how much it sucks. you’re not alone.”
THAT is what solidarity IS. i don’t know what it’s like to be Asian, he doesnt know what it’s like to be trans, but we both had a similar experience and we were able to turn a horrible experience into an opportunity for bonding and comfort.
stop looking at people’s attempts as solidarity as an attack. and hey, you never know - you could find an opportunity to grow closer to other people.
TikTok is a fundamentally evil app however the reason i use it is because you occasionally stumble across gems like the Chinese power transformer manufacturer who posts kawaii edits of their power transformers

I just wrote 8 pages when I haven't written in months and was beginning to think I'd never be able to again. Idk what it is, but I am sharing and manifesting this energy for every writer who sees this. May you write 8 quality pages effortlessly and find joy writing once more

Don't reblog scary things about the government without checking the source and making sure it says what the post claims it says.
Spreading fear and panic through exaggeration is not helpful. It makes it more difficult for people to distribute their resources to solve the most immediate problems effectively. It encourages compliance in advance. It damages trust. These things HELP the government keep marginalized people down.
If I had a nickel for every time I've seen a post on here that's less than a half hour old, makes a terrifying claim that is not supported by evidence, but has 50+ reblogs and climbing...

I tried crossposting from Tumblr to Twitter years ago, figuring I could compose for the former, then deploy my technical editing skills to cut the text down to size for the latter, and I couldn't do it. Of all the editing challenges I've faced, squeezing my posts into 280 characters is the only one that's utterly defeated me.
Years later, I tried again with Bluesky and found it easy, which one might construe as a sign that I've become a better editor, but no – I've compared, and while I can reliably get my present Tumblr posts down to 300 characters (albeit often with pretty vicious cuts), I still can't do 280.
There's probably some fascinating structural reason why those twenty characters make such a tremendous difference, but I'm choosing to interpret this as evidence that Twitter is ontologically evil.
I'm gonna unport your folio.

Nearly blocked someone for a vaguely annoying reply they made in 2017 then remembered 2017 was 9 years ago. They will live. We can change *opens their blog* nevermind they got worse. Guards
