I needed this, so I’m sharing in case you needed it, too <3
Once you get a taste of bettering yourself, it becomes addictive in the best sense, it becomes a priority to put your wellbeing first, your health, your growth, your education. All you’re going to be focused on is how to become the best version of you possible. This is the most powerful form of living; as all the energy otherwise wasted on comparison, doubt, etc is invested into you, as it should be.

A guide to indulging in escapism right now
This is a pretty stressful time for basically everyone.
It's natural to want to completely ignore everything that's going on, but we all know that's counterproductive.
So, here's a rough guide on how to care for yourself without ignoring the situation.
Understand how being able to escape is a privilege. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it at all, but you should understand that others cannot escape.
Question why you want to escape. Do you want to take time out for your mental health? Or do you want to ignore everything because it makes you uncomfortable? Make sure your escapism is for the right reasons.
Split your media consumption. For every book you read, read up on black experiences and struggles. For every movie you watch, watch a video or documentary on black history.
Make a goal, every day, to help change something. Donate, educate yourself, share information, read up on what's happening. Every. Single. Day. Make it part of your routine.
Detach your escapism from the real world. Turn your phone off, or stop reading up on current events while you're escaping. Make it an isolated experience.
Integrate blackness into your escapism. Buy books and resources from black owned business. Consume media with a diverse team behind it. Follow black creators. Use your privilege to uplift others.
Do not feel guilty. It's easy to feel as if you should be tuned into this all the time. But if you're doing the work, educating yourself, donating, making a difference, you can take a moment to yourself.
And, a few separate recommendations from my personal experience :)
Try to consume media from, or related to, your past. Let yourself mentally go back to that time, especially if it holds good memories.
Have fun with it! Dance parties, baking, and movie nights are all encouraged.
If you can't/don't want to separate yourself from your phone entirely, make sure all your important notifications are on, then leave it off until one comes through.
Share it with someone, if you can! Whether that's a call or they already love with you, it can be a great distraction tool to talk to someone. Or, if you don't want to use it as a distraction, talk to them about how you're feeling.
Go all in with whatever you're doing. Use the time to it's maximum potential- blanket forts, snacks, and takeout food are excellent choices.
Make it routine. For example, every Friday night you take a few hours to detach yourself and do something escapist. This works best if you also set up a recurring donation for the day you choose, so you're still helping.
Keep a diary of the actions you take every day to help the cause, and how your mental health is doing. This can help you determine when you need to take time off.
The reason they say "strength comes in numbers" is because one person can drop out without affecting the movement.
please everyone do this instead, it helps the smaller companies and jeffy shitface gets nothing

How to be a Classy Hoe
You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to be classy. It’s more about attitude then appearance. That said, having nice pieces in your wardrobe can help you look and feel good, so I’m including tips on both aspects of class.
Posture
The most important part of looking and feeling classy is your posture. Your chest should be forward, your chin up, and your back straight.
My ballet teacher always told me to think about yourself as a marionette on strings, and the string on the top of your head goes through to the base of your spine and pulls upwards, straightening your back to make you look elegant.
This does not mean to stand rigidly and stiffly, because that makes you look uncomfortable and people don’t want to be around that. Just keep your head high.
Language
When you’re out in public, keep the cursing at a minimum. This is an easy step and makes you look better without needing a thesaurus to expand your vocabulary.
Talk smoothly and gently. Don’t mumble. Be clear with your speaking voice and let others know that you want to be heard with each sentence.
Don’t apologize for silly things, and don’t talk apologetically (don’t be afraid to be bold), but do take responsibility if you have made a mistake.
Don’t gossip about others or share about yourself and your own drama. These people don’t want to help you, they want to hear shit about other people. If someone wants to rant to you, let them, but don’t add fuel to their fire.
Read
Read fantasy, non-fiction, old and new books, poetry, plays and newspapers from the 1900’s.
Also read about events happening now. Find a news source you trust and read it daily, but don’t be afraid to read other accounts of the same stories.
My sociology professor told us that he read 3 newspapers every day and came up with his own thoughts about the subjects, instead of just agreeing to what he was told. Be opinionated and informed, but don’t be afraid of changing your mind.
Spend Time Studying Art
Learn French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and whatever languages interest you.
(Duolingo is free and helped my friend become almost fluent in German in time to meet her birth father in Germany)
Take voice lessons and ballet, learn to play the piano or violin, paint canvases and find an artist to be your inspiration.
(Youtube has millions of videos on how to learn all of these. Invest time in each day to practice your art for free)
Look online or in your newspapers for events in museums, plays coming to your theatres, art galleries showing. Go to these events and surround yourself with others who are invested in this dying genre and show yourself how alive it can be.
Invest Money Wisely
Spend $30 on a white t-shirt, a pair of nude pants, and nude heels at the thrift store, and pair it with pearl earrings and a Luis Vuitton purse.
Get a few pieces of quality lingerie and take care of them.
Build your shoe collection slowly, but make sure to have a good nude heel, a nice pair of flats, and good booties always. Once you have a good set of the basics, feel free to add some fun heels for a good pop of color on your outfits.
Take Care of Yourself
Grow your nails out and take care of them. Learn how to do them yourself and get nice colors that go with every outfit.
Take care of your hair. Keep it shiny, but not greasy. Invest in good dry shampoo. Style it without heat if you can, but make sure that it looks nice. Learn how to do braids and ballet buns and make them look good.

“be the queen”
Older women are gems when it comes to relationship advice, especially when it comes to choosing the right men. I recently had a long conversation with an 84 year old woman and then she began to tell me the same relationship advice I hear almost every older woman say my whole life. Her advice can be applied to vanilla and sugar dating:
If a man doesn’t give anything to you in the beginning, he won’t give it to you later.
If you and your husband have to split all the bills, he’s not your husband he’s your roommate.
If a man is stingy with spending his money on you, just tell him, “I got what you want and you got what I want. It can’t work out if we can’t get what we want from each other.”
If a man likes/wants you, he will let you know right away.
Action speaks louder than words. Pay more attention to what they do and act towards you than focusing on their words and “promises”.
If you’re with a man in the beginning stages of the relationship and he’s more focused on looking or talking about other women, drop him.
A real man will protect you, look after you, and give you what you need/want.
If you ask a man for money and he says something like, “Don’t you have a job”, don’t do shit for him (especially sex) or drop him because he’s not that into you.
Anybody can be good in bed, if that’s all a man has to offer or that’s his only “redeeming” quality, drop him. You can’t spend all your time in the bedroom.
Good, generous men all have city jobs.
Men in the military are the biggest cheaters.
Women should never chase a man.
A man that is serious and genuinely likes you will always be consistent and not play games (example: not go days without talking to you, you’re not always the one initiating the phone calls/texts, will never drastically change his demeanor, etc.)
Bible!
Good tips my mother never gave me.
Every girl has had the experience where a creepy guy asks for our number and we don’t want to give it to him, but we also don’t want to get gutted in a back alley. “Give him a fake number!” I hear you call, okay and then he says “okay let me call you real quick!” Because they are learning. “Give them your number and then block them!” Okay and then they can plug it into something like Spokeo, pay $10 and know everything about you. So what do you do?
First pick a fake name, I use Jessica, then download the Google Voice app, hook it up to your email, pick a number, and set up a fake greeting with your fake name. You can set it to ring your actual phone like a normal call or text but they don’t have real info on you.
Go forth and don’t get murdered, ladies!
