While watching a DVD from the library my TV popped up a message saying to press a button if I wanted to watch this from additional providers.
It's never done that before so I looked it up and turns out Roku TVs have added all sorts of creepy things in the privacy section since I last checked.
One of which being they take screenshots from what you're watching and send them to third parties to identify it.

I feel like everyone talks about how great of a father Ilya is gonna be because he's so good with kids so often, that we ignore Shane has THE most dad energy I've ever seen. He's standing beside his kids while they watch TV, claiming he's not watching because he has stuff to do. He's up at 7am on a saturday mowing the lawn or fixing stuff in the bathroom you didn't even KNOW needed fixing. His kids come home from practice and he's watching the most niche ass hockey stats breakdown video on youtube and he is SAT and focused for all 40 minutes. Oh you mentioned you like something? He's picking several up from the store DONT comment on it. All of his texts have periods, are straight to the point, and include either "OK" or "👍"
UNPOPULAR OPINION: A lot of "mental health issues" disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege.

Every time you go in a public place and something ISN’T disgusting it’s because somebody cleaned it. Every time you feel comfortable using a public bathroom or sitting at a restaurant table or setting something on a gas station counter or playing on a playground it’s because somebody cleaned it.
Thank you to everyone who cleans the world, especially those who are underpaid and under appreciated.
I worked in a supermarket for 7 years and I don't think I can understate just how much cleaning you had to do for it to look clean (it very often where not in the places you aren't supposed to see)
True for food service, retail establishments, gyms, outdoor areas, schools, religious buildings, office buildings, etc. People usually only notice when a space is NOT clean, meanwhile every time a space is clean it’s only because of the diligent work of janitors, maintenance staff, custodians, parks workers, or volunteers.
ive been a custodian for almost 5 years full time and 4 years part time before that. part time, i made barely above minimum wage and full time i still dont even make 20 dollars an hour. i have to deal with actual bio hazards and bodily fluids every day, people being the most disgustingly disrespectful humans ive ever come across, and very potent chemicals that are dangerous to get on your skin or breathe in. just this past school year (im a custodian for a college and i clean one of the dorms), i had to scrub the walls almost daily because a student wouldnt stop clearing his sinuses and spitting it onto my walls. EVERY DAY. he only stopped when the cameras caught him and they slapped him with a fine.
i and my co workers genuinely risk our health and bodies all day long being around germs, extreme heavy trash, sharp objects, and big machines we use to scrub floors/shampoo carpets/sand and wax floors/etc. people throw away broken glass, untied used condoms (i dealt with those a lot in the freshman dorms, along with plastic bottles full of piss being tossed in my trash rooms), used needles, etc without any regard for how the person who takes it out is going to come into contact with it. gloves can only do so much against sharp objects and germs. one of my co workers is actually out on medical leave right now from being injured on the job.
please treat your custodians, janitors, and cleaning staff kindly. we work so very hard to keep places clean and usable and running, and we very rarely get any recognition or proper compensation for the amount of work we do.
